Suffering has a Lot to do with childhood. If You were born with a sensitive mind and noone noticed It, You May have a life task to learn to tacle it. I myself found meditation and spiritual teachers to Help me stop suffering. Nature is the best help in my life. When I am in Nature, I am in peace. Thank You🐝

I've been learning Buddhsim for some time, I think: Pain is more like a direct reaction to outside influences, for example physical pain or hateful words. It is not avoidable. But suffering is a state of mind --- If you let go of illusions & victimization, greed, anger, sadness or even lusts etc. You are free of suffering. However, if you "cling to" those emotions, you're suffering indeed. Sorry my native language isn't English!
@@nicolaeceausescu6049 emotions are not under your control, at least from a stoic standpoint I believe you should accept your emotions. Stay away from repressing or trying to control your emotions because truly your emotions are not under your control. What is under your control are your actions, and you must simply accept and observe your emotions while you act rationally.
I've found this practice to be very helpful during panic attacks. I have PTSD, so my fight/flight/freeze function is ker-busted. When my body starts to panic, I just sit down and focus on my breathing. I remind myself this is a medical condition and not a fault, and I don't have to get involved with the stuff my brain is trying to terrorize me with. It's still quite painful to go through and the memories are still atrocious, but this practice has minimized the duration and effect of the attacks down from a couple hours to just 5 minutes these days.
Right there with you. Suffer panic attacks and anxiety disorder all my life. I try to explain to people who tell me to just calm down that if it were a switch I could shut off I would gladly have done it decades ago.
Whenever something bad happens we say the same thing 'why me' as if you're special and should be protected from pain. Victim mindset does not help. Instead its important to accept and learn the lesson

How you deal with it matters. Are you going to let the pain use you or will you use it? No matter the amount of pain there is always a choice.

I find myself in a weird loop of feeling like these philosophies will help me avoid pain, but through the backdoor of ancient teachings. All this makes sense intellectually, but truly letting go doesn't come from force or will power - however its the only way i know how to do anything.
Viktor Frankl ( a famous German psychologist) said something like meditation being a poor way of practicing the overcoming of suffering. The actions that people should take should relate to what is at that moment most meaningful to them. You could try reading Man's search for meaning by Viktor Frankl to get better insight into it all.
I have felt this way lately and afraid to go out, I’ve been getting called creep for I don’t know how long but a long enough time that I’ve developed a fear of it. I hear it almost everywhere I go, I take care of my self and try to be kind to everyone I meet but inevitably that word comes to follow me every where I go. I’m so afraid of being called that cause I’m scared of believing it eventually.

Its really strange how it works out that way. But I find if I feel my back is up against the wall and I feel like everything is against me a loving light comes in to reassure me. @@pincopallino69 I'd suggest this alludes to "dying" being a process that precedes death. Death is a matter of moments that you can't control = it's certain. Meanwhile, what you do before that is up to you. You could be vivacious a day before your death, or you could spend that day already anticipating it and thus holding your liveliness back because "it's futile to hold onto it.". It's your choice. Be lively while you still have your life or spend your life slowly dying.
Delve into Buddhism even deeper and see we all are. You are not really lost, you just realized that there is nothing to hold on. Not feeling lost will start in the moment you accept the transitory nature of life and experience.

Embrace pain, and you won't suffer. Pain has its usefulness. Makes you stronger, builds character. Suffering, on the other hand, only withers you away. Embrace pain and appreciate the little things with presence. Taste that morning coffee, be in that conversation fully, take your time doing laundry. Don't rush, don't fret, do the things you need to do with attention, like an active meditation. And if you must rush, do it like it were a sport or a workout, and take a nice rest afterward. A large part of finding happiness is knowing ourselves and how we work. If you know you aren't able to pay attention to something for more than 30 minutes currently, then tackle each problem for 35 minutes (to push your limits just a bit at a time) and take 10 minute breaks. Either way, the solution to solving the problems of the mind, is in the mind. Suffering is the price we pay for superior intelligence. To overcome that price is a level of mastery not everyone can achieve.

I was suffering lol when I came across this video. And although I tried to let it go but it was obstinate and would pop up causing me to suffer anyway. I do not like the “situation” that caused me pain but I will no longer allow it to cause me more pain by suffering. This teaching reinforced that I could really let it go. Very empowering. Mình thấy có video bản nhạc trẻ nội dung trai gái yêu nhau đau khổ mà mấy trăm triệu lượt xem. Chênh lệch vậy, bảo sau chiến tranh không còn nhiều trên thế giới này. Mình có một mơ ước sau này cất được một cái thư viện nhỏ tại địa phương mình. Mình đã nhờ đọc sách mà mở mang trí tuệ, sống an vui hơn trước, nên cũng muốn bà con cũng dùng cách này mà bớt si, tham, sân hơn.
My spiritual journey made me reconsider pain/ suffering. After living with severe treatment resistant depression, anxiety, BPD aspergers and ocd I realised my pain was there for a reason and there were lessons/are still lessons i need to learn from it. suffering builds character is something I've lived by since being young. I learnt what suffering was very early, which is why I think I managed to find a way to use it to my advantage. I still have a lot of bad days, but when the good days come, I realise why I was suffering and what its trying to tell me.
There is no action of detachment needed but an awakening that nothing in life is tangible and permanent, nothing and no one really 'belong' to us., it's the reality no matter you accept it or not
It takes a long time to come to terms with suffering if we loose our parents or mother, after watching Buddha's teachings for nearly 2 years I over come to normal self but ofcourse going out for walks and engage in activity of what we love to do . thankyou.
My beloved dog of 12 years passed away, I thought I was ready, I was disconnecting myself from him, trying to avoid the pain of seeing him sick, now that he is gone the pain and suffering I’m experiencing right now is worst I’ve ever felt. Don’t avoid pain and suffering, it lets you know how much you loved someone or something, it’s a beautiful part of life, the more you avoid it, the more you will suffer, I wish I didn’t distance myself to avoid the pain but here I am crying and tortured. Run towards pain and suffering and you will have something better then stupid “Happiness”, you will have inner peace. F**k happiness, it’s overrated.
Personally, I don't think you have to necessarily forget the good times because "it already slipped through your fingers" or move on from the bad events as soon as it happens. Doing so, you are guaranteed to ensure eternal inner peace, but you're not living life the way it was intended to. Remember every experiences, good and bad. Dwell on your emotions as long as it takes you to understand them. There is no deadline for personal development. When you've learnt what you need to learn from the experiences, let it go. If you're unwilling to learn from these experiences, you would be running away from the unpleasant to pursue the pleasant, which is exactly what Buddha taught us not to do.

I watched this video yesterday, and thanks to it, I suffered almost no damage from the second arrow of my upcoming anxiety following the sense of resentment. It’s like being able to defuse the bomb inside yourself when you know it’s going to explode very soon.

This was such a wonderful video to watch. I have been on a zen Buddhist journey for a few years now so it is nice to watch a video like this that hits on some core elements through the deeper perspective that I have now. Thank you for making this.
The first arrow represents unavoidable pain from life. The second arrow represents optional things like anger, resentment and worry. We can choose to just let go of this upset that causes suffering.
I just can’t explain how thankful I am that you exist and that trough the medium of the internet you have helped me control my thoughts and have shown me so many perspectives that I now use in my everyday life… thank you buddy it means a lot. The suffering feels less relevant when you are like a blade of grass… I have to let the wind bend me but not break me. Like water.
IMO, suffering is an ongoing reaction to pain, even after the thing that caused the pain is gone or done. So why are we still reacting to it once it's over? Is it the memory of the thing happening in the first place? Is suffering really just the ongoing reliving of painful moments?
Consider the "Revision" technique (amongst others) described by Neville Goddard ..changes the way your subconscious processes your thinking & feeling ... very successfully.
@@paulgoogol2652 I think it's a little different with physical pain. But on the other hand, there are surfers who've gotten their arm bitten off by a shark and as soon as they are physically able they go right back to the ocean. So it seems as though it's possible.
Pain is part of the human experience. It can grow and change us, yet we do not have to embrace suffering and sorrow, so do go easy on yourself. Whatever you do today, let it be enough!!

As a Burmese, Buddhist, I was a kid once with all these knowledge, not knowing how to apply in life. Now, I'm 16, a teenager, because of the country situation and other stuff, this philosophy helped me to move on. I've undergone many failures even i tried so hard, staying alone abroad unexpectedly when i want to spend my youth with my besties and family. After all, Buddha is right. All i need is to accept all these bad things, accepting them and living within them.
The problem arises when people think that what they do in life is going to change external circumstances. No matter what we do in life, there'll always be something that's outside of our control so it's important to do whatever you can and simply accept whatever comes your way that you couldn't change and work within those limitations.
A lot of people think of material possessions when thinking of worldly things but not wanting to be attached to worldly things would also mean not wanting to be attached to people which also means to be devoid of the kind of connection we are used to. This is a very difficult kind of lifestyle to have

Pain is certainly inevitable and I think suffering is as well. What helps me to soften suffering is to be mindful that my self appointed purpose is To Enjoy Being Alive. When I am able to turn my attention toward ways of promoting this purpose I spend less time in pain and suffering and I begin to feel better. Practices such as gratitude direct my attention toward joy and love and away from suffering. Pain and suffering are inevitable but we can nurture a healthy gratitude for what good things we presently experience and the possibilities of even more good winds that may still blow our way.
I think thats the critical point on this philosophy. If people expect from themselves and others not to suffer it can reduce empathy. Suffering, which is normal for human beings, can get something of your controll. So its just your fault, if you suffer. Fault is also a feeling of suffering, and i think its a very common feeling these times.
Severe chronic pain IS suffering. So is severe emotional turmoil stemming from physical/biological causes. You can try to manage the way you think about it and yourself (the second arrow) but really being tortured beyond your physical limits is a different animal than the everyday, lower intensity, emotional angst he’s talking about in this video.

DEEP BREATHING does help. In a fight or flight attack the ONLY thing deep breathing doesn't help is diarrhea. 😝

Embrace pain, and you won't suffer. Pain has its usefulness. Makes you stronger, builds character. Suffering, on the other hand, only withers you away. Embrace pain and appreciate the little things with presence. Taste that morning coffee, be in that conversation fully, take your time doing laundry. Don't rush, don't fret, do the things you need to do with attention, like an active meditation. And if you must rush, do it like it were a sport or a workout, and take a nice rest afterward.
A large part of finding happiness is knowing ourselves and how we work. If you know you aren't able to pay attention to something for more than 30 minutes currently, then tackle each problem for 35 minutes (to push your limits just a bit at a time) and take 10 minute breaks. Either way, the solution to solving the problems of the mind, is in the mind. Suffering is the price we pay for superior intelligence. To overcome that price is a level of mastery not everyone can achieve.

I was suffering lol when I came across this video. And although I tried to let it go but it was obstinate and would pop up causing me to suffer anyway. I do not like the “situation” that caused me pain but I will no longer allow it to cause me more pain by suffering. This teaching reinforced that I could really let it go. Very empowering. Mình thấy có video bản nhạc trẻ nội dung trai gái yêu nhau đau khổ mà mấy trăm triệu lượt xem.
Chênh lệch vậy, bảo sau chiến tranh không còn nhiều trên thế giới này.
Mình có một mơ ước sau này cất được một cái thư viện nhỏ tại địa phương mình. Mình đã nhờ đọc sách mà mở mang trí tuệ, sống an vui hơn trước, nên cũng muốn bà con cũng dùng cách này mà bớt si, tham, sân hơn.
My spiritual journey made me reconsider pain/ suffering. After living with severe treatment resistant depression, anxiety, BPD aspergers and ocd I realised my pain was there for a reason and there were lessons/are still lessons i need to learn from it. suffering builds character is something I've lived by since being young. I learnt what suffering was very early, which is why I think I managed to find a way to use it to my advantage. I still have a lot of bad days, but when the good days come, I realise why I was suffering and what its trying to tell me.
Change is just another word for life!!! Daaaaaaaaaamn
There is no action of detachment needed but an awakening that nothing in life is tangible and permanent, nothing and no one really 'belong' to us., it's the reality no matter you accept it or not
It takes a long time to come to terms with suffering if we loose our parents or mother, after watching Buddha's teachings for nearly 2 years I over come to normal self but ofcourse going out for walks and engage in activity of what we love to do . thankyou.
My beloved dog of 12 years passed away, I thought I was ready, I was disconnecting myself from him, trying to avoid the pain of seeing him sick, now that he is gone the pain and suffering I’m experiencing right now is worst I’ve ever felt. Don’t avoid pain and suffering, it lets you know how much you loved someone or something, it’s a beautiful part of life, the more you avoid it, the more you will suffer, I wish I didn’t distance myself to avoid the pain but here I am crying and tortured. Run towards pain and suffering and you will have something better then stupid “Happiness”, you will have inner peace. F**k happiness, it’s overrated.

Personally, I don't think you have to necessarily forget the good times because "it already slipped through your fingers" or move on from the bad events as soon as it happens. Doing so, you are guaranteed to ensure eternal inner peace, but you're not living life the way it was intended to.
Remember every experiences, good and bad. Dwell on your emotions as long as it takes you to understand them. There is no deadline for personal development. When you've learnt what you need to learn from the experiences, let it go.
If you're unwilling to learn from these experiences, you would be running away from the unpleasant to pursue the pleasant, which is exactly what Buddha taught us not to do.

I watched this video yesterday, and thanks to it, I suffered almost no damage from the second arrow of my upcoming anxiety following the sense of resentment. It’s like being able to defuse the bomb inside yourself when you know it’s going to explode very soon.
I avoided the first arrow, but twisted my ankle doing it, that pissed me off!

This was such a wonderful video to watch. I have been on a zen Buddhist journey for a few years now so it is nice to watch a video like this that hits on some core elements through the deeper perspective that I have now. Thank you for making this.
The first arrow represents unavoidable pain from life. The second arrow represents optional things like anger, resentment and worry. We can choose to just let go of this upset that causes suffering.
I just can’t explain how thankful I am that you exist and that trough the medium of the internet you have helped me control my thoughts and have shown me so many perspectives that I now use in my everyday life… thank you buddy it means a lot. The suffering feels less relevant when you are like a blade of grass… I have to let the wind bend me but not break me. Like water.
IMO, suffering is an ongoing reaction to pain, even after the thing that caused the pain is gone or done. So why are we still reacting to it once it's over? Is it the memory of the thing happening in the first place? Is suffering really just the ongoing reliving of painful moments?
Consider the "Revision" technique (amongst others) described by Neville Goddard ..changes the way your subconscious processes your thinking & feeling ... very successfully.
If there is an arrow in your knee just ask yourself why you can't ignore it.
@@paulgoogol2652 I think it's a little different with physical pain. But on the other hand, there are surfers who've gotten their arm bitten off by a shark and as soon as they are physically able they go right back to the ocean. So it seems as though it's possible.

Embrace pain to know you're alive if it is inevitable, and avoid unnecessary pain by reminding yourself that you are alive.
As a Burmese, Buddhist, I was a kid once with all these knowledge, not knowing how to apply in life. Now, I'm 16, a teenager, because of the country situation and other stuff, this philosophy helped me to move on. I've undergone many failures even i tried so hard, staying alone abroad unexpectedly when i want to spend my youth with my besties and family. After all, Buddha is right. All i need is to accept all these bad things, accepting them and living within them.

The problem arises when people think that what they do in life is going to change external circumstances. No matter what we do in life, there'll always be something that's outside of our control so it's important to do whatever you can and simply accept whatever comes your way that you couldn't change and work within those limitations.

A lot of people think of material possessions when thinking of worldly things but not wanting to be attached to worldly things would also mean not wanting to be attached to people which also means to be devoid of the kind of connection we are used to.

Pain is certainly inevitable and I think suffering is as well. What helps me to soften suffering is to be mindful that my self appointed purpose is To Enjoy Being Alive. When I am able to turn my attention toward ways of promoting this purpose I spend less time in pain and suffering and I begin to feel better. Practices such as gratitude direct my attention toward joy and love and away from suffering. Pain and suffering are inevitable but we can nurture a healthy gratitude for what good things we presently experience and the possibilities of even more good winds that may still blow our way.

I think thats the critical point on this philosophy. If people expect from themselves and others not to suffer it can reduce empathy. Suffering, which is normal for human beings, can get something of your controll. So its just your fault, if you suffer. Fault is also a feeling of suffering, and i think its a very common feeling these times.

Severe chronic pain IS suffering. So is severe emotional turmoil stemming from physical/biological causes. You can try to manage the way you think about it and yourself (the second arrow) but really being tortured beyond your physical limits is a different animal than the everyday, lower intensity, emotional angst he’s talking about in this video.
