This channel or psychology in general is very good at explaining the human condition but it just doesn't match the reality we see. It doesn't help an addict or someone with clinical depression.
I still think that we pay a lot of lip service to mental health issues but when it comes down to it we are totally in the dark and unequipped to help those who need help.
Regardless of the fact that life is suffering and that these words wonderfully explain why and how we suffer, they don't provide solutions.
After years of suffering and losing everything that you held dear and then after years of talking to a therapist or a monk and absorbing their wise words and apt quotes you walk out with the conclusion that I am still suffering but now I think I know why I am suffering and that is as good as it gets.
Some get a lot worse and others learn to carry on while tolerating the pain depending on their genetics or social and economic standings.
Freud started as a neurologist but since there was hardly anything that he could do to help the poor souls he saw around him he turned to psychology. At least then he could see the middle class in a comfortable office and talk about sex.
There are conditions that are now being helped at least somewhat effectively that used to be considered psychological and havig to do with too much or too little masturbation like tourette syndrome and femalehysteria.
Hopefully understanding the brain and understanding the neurology of some of these problems will one day help us out of these paradoxical words of wisdom but until then all we have are these pretty stories.

Regarding the last video: It's painful to deal with our past and at times we might have to deal with it our whole lives, but if we stay at the middle point where we're always confronting it, we will never actually accept what has happened to it and learn from it. Just like the victim of a burglary is very likely not going to cry for the rest of their life over the 50€ that were stolen from them, we cannot stay lamenting about what has happened to us forever because we'll end up being an eternal victim, never taking control of our emotions and accepting what has happened to us.

The united states military is using technology and manpower to protect deviant sadistic Child SAers that are misusing their access to advanced tools to spy on, harass, and forcibly SA children. This sometimes follows them into adulthood. Children that are still too young to know that what they are seeing is not normal are being exposed to disgusting deviant content that is forcibly shown to them by hacking their devices. Many victims may not even know they have been targeted by this, because the majority of the actual SA happens when they are slipped something that incapacitates them or they are asleep, the only reason they might know is because the perpetrator may leave behind physical evidence, like bruises, scratches, or bodily fluids. If a victim discovers what has happened to them these worms will misuse equipment and manpower to stalk, shame, mock, and generally try to make the lives of the people affected by this as hellish as possible both offline and online. They follow victims in person and try to intimidate or harass them. They generally use different people who act as though they aren't affiliated with each other and don't do anything they can be arrested for at the time of the harassment. They think they can shame and mock victims into silence because some of what happens is coerced. These are depraved cowards that gather in groups to harass solitary women and children just to protect deviant SAers

After days years, months and Day's hours. And minutes today I couldn't take it anymore and I started to cry and I was in extreme pain . I'm dealing with a lot of health issues spacaily a sexual disorder. I was searching ways on the internet to get rid of it and finally I realized that I'm not the only one. Afterwards I did research on the other health problems I have and I found out people suffer with it for there entire life. I just realized something. You can't get rid of suffering. The world is really burning. Each single minute millions of people are suffering. I just felt a sense of calmness and I suddenly understood that the need to recover from my illness are just not that worthy. Because there's no meaning. The whole world is burning. And I just have to give up and accept it . I atchuly feel much calmer now and I don't care about anything. Because I realized that this suffering can not be avoided. So I just live and actually I don't have big dreams. I won't chase any desire anymore. I just realized that it's not worthy. I don't feel a need to go behind desire anymore it feels so calm.to let go of everything 😌

Hey, i read your comment, and it kinda reminded me of myself, as someone who has been suffering from chronic pain and insomnia for years trust me, I understand, and i am not gonna try to give you that optimistic talk to find joy and ilumination in the suffering , only people who havent experienced real suffering go through that , but you shouldn't give up on yourself, your hopes and your desires, than you wouldn't just be suffering but you would be suffering on vain, dont let the world win, you dont know how many time ive been in crucifing pain takling to myself, telling the life, the universe whatever all this mess is that it has won , but as long as i am alive i cant except that, and you shouldn't either, just beacuse there are other people suffering like us dont make it right, most propaly we might never get better and shouldn't get our hopes up but yet we should stop trying , we are gonna suffer anyway wether in rebelion or exeptence.

I used to find the Buddha's teaching that life is suffering weird and pessimistic. But as I grow older... Well I think the Buddha is just being realistic haha. What I love about Buddhism is that the Buddha doesn't just stop at "Life is Suffering". But he taught us how to navigate ourselves through life too. The more I learn about Buddhism, the more I understand why and how. But yeah mostly it revolves around being aware and mindful of our own thoughts and consciousness. Great video once again Sisyphus

    • @Galvvy
      @Galvvy 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +15

It is a common misconception to assume Buddhism implies suffering is essence which is not what he's saying. "There is suffering" is more accurate, as in suffering in itself does not exist, but perception of such does. Just as someone has a terrible life, and another a beautiful and healthy one, the qualia of suffering by degree could be entirely inverted based on the constitutions of the individual. Thus suffering is not the same, or definable as an essential part of reality, but a subjective experience like love.

Thank you, Sisyphus, for this deeper dive into buddhism. I think you’ve articulated the constant nature of pain and the importance of grappling with it to continue one’s development very well. I think this video has the potential to be very touching for some, like how many of your other videos have been so touching for me.
If this video makes sense to you, you in the comments reading this, and you believe that your mind can become a comfortable, loving home, I implore you to take up a meditation practice. It will feel like nothing is happening, but with time (I started noticing genuine change in my behavior for the better within a month), active exploration of your inner landscape and a continuous, ever-unending acceptance of pain, suffering is avoidable and equanimity is inevitable. If you believe in putting in the work for yourself, for your mind, body and spirit and you want a more highly attuned existence, meditate.
On a semantic note, I believe it is more productive to relate to the sentiment “Pain is inevitable, suffering is not” or for short “Life is Pain”. The key difference between pain and suffering being that pain is the pure experience of hurt, the signal from your body/mind that something is negatively effecting oneself whereas suffering is simply one’s reaction to pain which then results in hardship. One can recognize pain and not suffer.
Thank you again for your videos, Sisyphus. I relate to all of them so deeply 🙏

I've seen you've been uploading rather frequently, I love your videos, the style, presentation and the way you break down otherwise abstract concepts and perspectives for people is an excellent contribution the world, although I haven't kept up with the uploads as i'm used to your slower rate of releases (and myself trying to spend a lot less time on youtube lol) I get the sense that somethings have happened.
I just want to say I appreciate you, wholeheartedly, and wish you all the best in life, i'll be sure to catch up on your videos but in the meantime please take care of yourself and take it easy,

Loving Attention has allowed my relationship with alcohol to change hugely and organically after many years of trying to force that change. I’ve experienced the possibility that can be found in extreme self love and acceptance. It’s a journey I’m glad to be on . I see many others here as well and I am glad. I say the five remembrances every morning during my morning meditation time. It’s helped me come to terms with the inevitability of loss. If loss is inevitable and my only power is in my actions then I find myself feeling empowered to take meaningful action .

The United States uses military resources meant to keep us safe to spy on, torture, groom, and harass victims of pedophilic abuse.
Victims are groomed and forcibly shown deviant sexual content at ages as young as 6 years old. They hack the household devices, including hijacking the television while a child is up and alone. They are forcibly shown deviant content involving animals or disgusting acts that would be illegal for an adult. They target victims this young because this is the age that fetishes are developed and children this young are not capable of understanding what they are seeing is not normal. They are intentionally grooming defenseless children into deviant sexualities. This is also a way to shame victims into silence, they think the more deviant and depraved they are with children, they will be less likely to speak out about what happened to them out of shame.
In person they will encourage children below puberty to engage in deviant sexual acts and try to convince them this is normal behavior. Both children and adults are molested and raped through the use of substances that render them unconscious and the only reason a victim might know that something has occurred is because they leave body fluids in or around the victim.
When the victims get older there is use of an advanced AI that alters content that they see by inserting references and imagery that would seem normal to other people but has special meaning to the torture victim. This will be repeated again and again indefinitely.
This is both for the purposes of psychological torture and to provoke violence
Some people are being intentionally tortured throughout their entire lives, they may target them because they think they are easy prey or maybe they were just attracted to that particular child.
They use innocuous symbols because there is plausible deniability . A victim that was deviantly groomed by pedophiles is repeatedly shown something related to their exploitation. Like a rapist that rapes a woman with a common object for the purposes of torture. They want the victim to relive the trauma as much as possible. The use of weaponized AI would manipulate algorithms to show them what the torturers wanted them to see. The AI would do the grunt work of content modification and categorization.

A great exploration of the 4 Noble Truths in Buddhism. Another interesting piece in Buddhism is the 3 characteristics, which highlights certain truths we have trouble accepting and perpetuate our suffering. The first is suffering, as you've explore here, the other two are impermanence and no-self. Impermanence is just the acceptance that nothing lasts, and we spend so much of our time and energy trying to create a sense of permanence or significance, and when we can really accept impermanence we find ourselves so much more free. And no-self points to our true nature, that there isn't anything fixed or consistent about who or what we are, that we exist only in relationship to experience, and when you really inquire into your nature you find a bunch of ideas, but the only consistent thing is awareness itself.

Suffering, although we do not wish it upon ourselves, does make us better people, and helps us grow and mature. Have you ever spoken to a person who’s been through a lot and how they are and how they speak, vs talking to someone who hasn’t suffered much and is still naive? It becomes very obvious.

They think they can shame and mock their victims into silence because some of what happens is coerced. These are depraved cowards that gather in groups to harass solitary women and children just to protect SAers
