So here’s the break down on the shower door. 1. It’s expensive. Probably around $1600. 2. The shower is very small as is. Adding a solid door would make it feel even more cramped (in my opinion). 3. It would look good and make the bathroom feel more “fancy”. 4. I like the “idea” of the door, I just don’t know if the pros will outweigh the cons.
Oh ok. Looks big on camera. But maybe a bifolding one? And a solid glass shower screen here in the UK, prices start from around £70! A really fancy one, £350ish at the most… $1600! Wow!
No glass door. You are renting the property. Extend your low buy in for good return mentality you use for reselling to getting a good ROI from your rental business. Just install a shower rod and let the tenant choose a shower curtain that matches their taste and decor.
How about a plastic door? I think you need a door because there will be some water run off if there was just a shower curtain.

I would definitely put a shower door on, as it looks unfinished without one, but that’s just my opinion. Whatever you do will be just fine:). I am glad that Hayley is feeling better! 😊

Beautiful shower transformation. Highly recommend shower curtain though since it’s a rental. Shower doors can get very grimy over time if folks don’t keep up with cleaning them properly. Keep up the good work!

so good to see Hayley back, the videos are a bit better with her in them too ☺️. The shower turned out great. From my experience with both glass doors and shower curtains, the shower curtain is so much easier to keep clean, I think your future renter will appreciate it. And I usually get the curved rod, so it feels even more spacious in the shower
Skip the glass door the more extras you put in a rental the more there is to tear up.

Goodwill should stop asking people donating money on the top of their prices. Very annoying considering they are living out of free stuff. Nice to see Hailey is getting better! I think your bathroom would get very wet with only a shower curtain, it needs to be enclosed. A sliding door would look nice
It sure doesn't look like there's room for a sliding door on that tiny shower. It would need to be one that pulls open outward.
So glad you're feeling better Haley !! My husband and I have had rental property for years so speaking from experience, I don't suggest a glass shower doors. We've put $$$$ into our rentals only to have them destroyed. I would use a shower curtain and if you find yourself with great renters or you're ready to sell you could instal one. The space also looks small for a glass door. 😇😇
Glad your back Haley. Also, Josh, when riding a skateboard, put your dominant foot on the ground and push with your opposite foot. Make sure that opposite foot is on the front two bolts. You scared me half to death putting them on the bottom ones
Wayfair has acrylic shower doors that slide and are much cheaper

Good call on no glass door. It's kind of a pain to clean, and you know renters will never clean it. I took ours out!

the shower looks great! random idea, maybe a half glass door? it doesn’t look like there’s enough room for a door to open up, and the half door would keep the water from leaving the shower but keep the bathroom looking large and open / higher end. also cheaper than an entire door!
IT'S A RENTAL! Go with the shower curtain. Renters WILL NOT take care of the glass. I've been a landlord, learned the hard way.

You have done a great job on the flip house. So far you have done everything just right in the house so pleaseeeee don’t stop short in the bathroom. It definitely needs a thick glass door. I bet you could even ask a little more rent - everyone loves a nice feeling bath & besides shower curtains get nasty especially if they are near the toilet. Don’t cover up what you spent a lot on. Remember, “you are the best”.👏🏼
Im a little late seeing this series, but I was going to comment on the walk through “we bought a house” video and say I strongly suggest moving the range to the back wall instead of in the island, not only because it takes up all your peninsula/island space/bar top, BUT I’ve seen many Reno shows and ppl hating the vent in the middle of the room and the amount of smoke that fills the room when they cook. So I’m glad I fast forward through to this video and see it’s on the back wall and I’m assuming the dishwasher is in the peninsula/island. Love seeing the transformation so far! I love your videos! Makes me want to make the drive to my goodwill outlet/bins more often for my reselling on eBay!❤

Going the rest of the way to the ceiling really wasn’t much more expensive and I think it makes the shower look way better (and bigger). Highly recommend

You CAN wash a shower curtain, if you decide to use one. You just have to put it on the coolest setting in the dryer and take it out just after a few minutes. We’re building a log house and we’re using glass shower doors with the sliding large antique brass rollers on the top of the doors, ( downstairs only though). I forget what they’re called ( country, farmhouse?? ), not sure. We did add a raised lip using the same tile as the floor that’s on floor of the shower going into the shower to help keep the water from running out . The rail that the shower door opens and closes is on that raised lip, so a shower curtain could be used by having it fall behind that lip, to save some money.

I have a smaller bathroom and when I redid it I put it a glass door and it makes the bathroom look bigger and adds more value; worth it for the look, especially since you did tiles and not just fiberglass.

As a Sr citizen ..I want no parts of a glass door in a shower. Should you slip and fall and hit that glass door and it shatters ...it won't be a pretty situation. I'd rather fall against a plastic curtain!! At least I won't get cut to ribbons-!!

Glass shower door would be an initial investment that your tile floor won't get rotted by the water that escapes with only a shower curtain. (major bucks if mold enters the picture!) In the long run, it is smart money to get the glass!!!

It's good to see when you don't find things, showing it's not all goldmine finds. I've done several showers in my DIY days and that shower appears to be too small for a glass door with the toilet so close. Also a good tile man would have finished that wall for you and not charged a dime (just my opinion). Glad to see you are feeling better Haley (spelling). Stay safe to the both of you.

Josh when you go to set the commode get an extra set of nuts and washers. set the bolts in the flange and use a washer and nut to lock the bolts in place then wax ring , set the commode and use washers then nuts. keeps the bolts from accidentally coming loose in the future.
I dropped alot of things off at Goodwill today. I found one of the bags was wet. 😢 Just trying to help it was dry wash clothes for the elderly . I know they will toss them. Glad to see your back Hailey. God Bless you both.

You spent all that money on beautiful tile work that is a big selling point to potential renters and buyers. You also have a toilet right next to the shower.
Don't cheap out with an ugly shower curtain that if not closed properly can result in water collecting all over the floor. Get a glass slider ( not a glass door. Look it up it is a real game changer in small bathrooms).
It will look great, save you on repairs, and increase the value of the house. That is one area you don't want to cheap out on.
It will run you about 2k but 10x that in resale value.
The shower looks great! I think a door would look beautiful but it's definitely not cheap so I think it would be a personal preference for you guys.

Josh, when deciding to spend money, I would never say cut corners, but you need to be sensible on a house that you're renting. People treat rentals horribly, because it's not their's.

A glass dooe would be so difficult with how small it is in there already, plus your renting and they may not keep up with good upkeep on door. A nice strudy clear shower curtain would be a nice option, still shows off beautiful tile. Glad Hayley is feeling better.
