Josh...I have been working from home for almost two years now. I get up an hour before start time, I shower, and get dressed in my work clothes and always put on socks and shoes, even in the summer time. If I don't do that stuff, I have a very hard time getting in the mood to do my work. You hit the nail on the head.
First 3 minutes alone was packed with great advice! I was a part time reseller, full time "real job" but because of covid I am now a full time stay at home mom, "teacher" homeschooling my 2 older kids, running after my two year old but still only part time reseller. I have not been able to dedicate the time to reselling full time because I get to lazy being home. Just as you said, in my pajamas most of the day and sometimes can't get the motivation I need. Dude. you are the O.G. for me. (you're the first channel i started really watching on the subject of reselling) you are definitely one of the main reasons i started reselling on ebay. My 90 day (really 45 day) ebay sales total on 43 sales is 2973.00 (one of them was a 1900.00 pokemon card) so a little over 1k in sales in about 30 days of actual selling. all because i just took the leap and started DOING instead of just watching . thankss so much for all of your content and the way you really break it down is awesome!!!!! my go pro is on its way and i in no way think that anyone will want to watch my channel but you never know. i resell source and garbage pick and do handyman and pressure cleaning work so maybe with a combo of everything i do an audience will form. lol anyways keep up the great work and we will all keep watching. actually even if it's not great... i will probably still watch. much love and gratitude and appreciation to you and @garyvee for igniting the spark that i needed to get moving and executing the plan to shape life from here on out.

Took your tip from a while back and labeled my listings in the SKU field so they would be easier to find. I also added the purchase price for the new items I'd recently picked up. Here's the cool part: I've only done one bin so far, but eBay considered the revised listings worthy of an algorithm bump so I've moved so many items out of that bin in the past week!! just started reselling and i gotta tell you i give you the utmost respect for doing this full time, i dont think i could do it with the amount of other resellers around my area, it is just not feasible for me, luckily i have a full time job, and just do the ebay thing as a side hustle...keep up the good work, been watching for a long time, and decided to put a comment up
I'm the SAME way only with shoes though, I naturally where sweat pants everyday and everywhere but for me its a shower and SHOES (mostly shoes). If I don't put on shoes its like my brain is never activated and I struggle to be productive!! Glad to know I'm not alone!!

The start of the morning is very important. If you start the morning with an organized simple task from start to end, it will shape your whole day. It is weird stuff but works. Putting work clothes & shoes put you in a different state. I always dismissed what others have told me in the past to fix the bed after waking up. Now i know how important to do so. You are an honest person and deserve the best. Sometimes if i feel slow i watch one of your videos and it always put me in the mood of finding deals and selling. Great vibe & positive energy.

This is another GREAT video. Lots of useful information! I would also say the greatest advice I ever got (actually from an old boss) is that I am a “list completer personality.” Not everyone is. But for me, making a list for a day and checking it all off means I am well planned and happy with my day if I get at least most of it done. I just love checking off each item and knowing I am making progress. Again, just me, but I did not realize this until someone told me, and I am now more productive (and happier!)
I know this is an older video but when you said you should do things to make it easier for Haily when she used to come home from work, made me remember why I started watching you, your genuine and honest. Also I have to say if I ever saw you make a comment on my lil channel I think I would probably have a heart attack. I'll never forget the moment I got the notification that Cincinnati Picker subscribed when I had only around 100 subs, made me feel like I should keep going for sure. Great video sir! Exactly what I needed as a little organization advice / encouragement as I work towards transitioning into reselling. I’ve always done it on the small scale, but I’ve decided to take my talents to the next level and try to replace my 9-5 this coming June. I’ve always had a knack for finding things of value, and also marketing things to be able to find a buyer(Craigslist back in the day, eBay, Marketplace, etc). I found a Bang and Olufsen remote at a bootfair once near the end of the day for 10. It was a universal remote so I got it for myself, when I looked it up it was selling new for 200, sold it on ebay for 125. On occasion I've found other rare high-end audio remotes that I've paid a pound for and sold for up to 40. Always check typewriters too. Hope you picked up the manual for the RCA camcorder next to the bag.

I used to have 2 businesses. They were located next door to each other. When I did errands for one business, I did thise errands for the other business. It was a great time in my life. A very busy time, but great.
This is SO true. If I don't have clean clothes and I put on soft pajama pants instead, I never get anything done... even my laundry! Same thing goes for making your bed in the morning. If you don't make your bed you did not complete the task of sleeping. Until you "check it off" by finishing and making your bed. The feeling you get from completion is amazing. I hate folding my clothes and putting them away, and until I do it, I don't feel as productive for every day it sits there.
I enjoy your entire journey. Intake to put sold. Learned a lot from you. 17 years a reseller. Always a learner. Kinda lazy, but happy with my self. 79 yrs old. A bit slower but still very interested. Doing ok.
Great video! I work full time and do EBay really as a Hobby. The time management has been my struggle but I plan to turn that around. Eventually I plan to go full time but not ready to give up my day job, I’ve invested a lot into it as well. So I’ve got to get a system where I balance the two!

excellent points! When I started watching reseller videos I watched as much as I could. That has slacked off a bit plus some TH-camrs I watched in the past, I have shied away from because they did not "shake it up" . And I do see that with you, Josh, and others that I do continue to watch whether it is reselling, or other topics I am interested in. Keep up the good work!
Always have to keep the abundance mindset when shopping in bin stores. Everyone rushes in to the new bins, searching frantically for the top 50 consumer electronics (name brand, new) and essentially put blinders on that prevents them from finding all the real gold :) and also, as a reseller you have to remember that one good day can usually make up for an entire week of bad (sourcing) days.
I spent my day off today watching your videos and you do it very well and give alot of useful info. I think you should add 1.oo per item for misc expenses like supplies, gas, transportation etc. And it seems like a lot but your misc. Expenses add up quickly and overlooked. Also in case you don't do it the garage you charge rent to yourself as business expenses and supplies as well. I will keep watching your videos and wish you luck. Merry Christmas!!

Hi Josh! I am a fairly new (1 year) Ebay reseller from the UK. My daughter and I started it as a hobby and have had a couple of good sales in the past few months. I’m sad that there don’t seem to be any thrifting videos from the UK actually IN the shops so I try to just pick up tips from you and The Niche Lady who is also really personable and helpful and sort of make it up as I go along. The best I can hope for is a small profit on my very small investment each month and that seems to be happening … so we’re happy! just started reselling and i gotta tell you i give you the utmost respect for doing this full time, i dont think i could do it with the amount of other resellers around my area, it is just not feasible for me, luckily i have a full time job, and just do the ebay thing as a side hustle...keep up the good work, been watching for a long time, and decided to put a comment up

I'm the SAME way only with shoes though, I naturally where sweat pants everyday and everywhere but for me its a shower and SHOES (mostly shoes). If I don't put on shoes its like my brain is never activated and I struggle to be productive!! Glad to know I'm not alone!!

Love the video started selling on ebay from Asheville NC in june when i got laid off. I love reselling and making a great profit in it. The start of the morning is very important. If you start the morning with an organized simple task from start to end, it will shape your whole day. It is weird stuff but works. Putting work clothes & shoes put you in a different state. I always dismissed what others have told me in the past to fix the bed after waking up. Now i know how important to do so. You are an honest person and deserve the best. Sometimes if i feel slow i watch one of your videos and it always put me in the mood of finding deals and selling. Great vibe & positive energy.

I always get dressed every day and put on shoes. If I don't I won't do things. I like to feel neat, and prepared for the day, and getting dressed prepares me for the day. I think you are so clever to pay attention to the small, behind the scenes things, that undergird, and establish the foundations of your successful business. Well done.
Oh my gosh those crochet pants! Hahaha! Great tip on reinvesting- we bought some stock in Tesla this year (first stock purchase) and needless to say...that was a great idea. Invest in your future! You are great with your Instagram DM's- I've personally always appreciated how quickly you respond OR even at all! No need to apologize- we all know your heart and how appreciative you are. Also, I personally cannot wait until hopefully one day I can say "Man, only 13K views..." good for you! You clearly put in the work!

This is another GREAT video. Lots of useful information! I would also say the greatest advice I ever got (actually from an old boss) is that I am a “list completer personality.” Not everyone is. But for me, making a list for a day and checking it all off means I am well planned and happy with my day if I get at least most of it done. I just love checking off each item and knowing I am making progress. Again, just me, but I did not realize this until someone told me, and I am now more productive (and happier!)
I know this is an older video but when you said you should do things to make it easier for Haily when she used to come home from work, made me remember why I started watching you, your genuine and honest. Also I have to say if I ever saw you make a comment on my lil channel I think I would probably have a heart attack. I'll never forget the moment I got the notification that Cincinnati Picker subscribed when I had only around 100 subs, made me feel like I should keep going for sure. Thanks for doing a video like this Josh, it makes a difference to beginners like me.

Great video sir! Exactly what I needed as a little organization advice / encouragement as I work towards transitioning into reselling. I’ve always done it on the small scale, but I’ve decided to take my talents to the next level and try to replace my 9-5 this coming June. I’ve always had a knack for finding things of value, and also marketing things to be able to find a buyer(Craigslist back in the day, eBay, Marketplace, etc). I found a Bang and Olufsen remote at a bootfair once near the end of the day for 10. It was a universal remote so I got it for myself, when I looked it up it was selling new for 200, sold it on ebay for 125. On occasion I've found other rare high-end audio remotes that I've paid a pound for and sold for up to 40. Always check typewriters too.
Hope you picked up the manual for the RCA camcorder next to the bag.

Ughh Harry, totally jelly of what ya got going on! You and one or two others really motivated me to start reselling and I've been doing it for just over a month now. Great results and in the "learning what works" stage. I've also tried my hand at the ole YT and it's pretty cringy, but I'll keep with it for now and hopefully get more comfortable in front of the camera. I used to have 2 businesses. They were located next door to each other. When I did errands for one business, I did thise errands for the other business. It was a great time in my life. A very busy time, but great.
This is SO true. If I don't have clean clothes and I put on soft pajama pants instead, I never get anything done... even my laundry!
Same thing goes for making your bed in the morning. If you don't make your bed you did not complete the task of sleeping. Until you "check it off" by finishing and making your bed.
The feeling you get from completion is amazing. I hate folding my clothes and putting them away, and until I do it, I don't feel as productive for every day it sits there.
Putting on real pants. What a genius way to not be lazy. Can’t lay around in jeans. Haha I needed that advice.

I enjoy your entire journey. Intake to put sold. Learned a lot from you. 17 years a reseller. Always a learner. Kinda lazy, but happy with my self. 79 yrs old. A bit slower but still very interested. Doing ok.
Great video! I work full time and do EBay really as a Hobby. The time management has been my struggle but I plan to turn that around. Eventually I plan to go full time but not ready to give up my day job, I’ve invested a lot into it as well. So I’ve got to get a system where I balance the two!

I'm not a sedentary reseller... my storage room is upstairs in the garage.. that's a lot of work going up and down the stairs hauling stuff!

That has slacked off a bit plus some TH-camrs I watched in the past, I have shied away from because they did not "shake it up" . And I do see that with you, Josh, and others that I do continue to watch whether it is reselling, or other topics I am interested in. Keep up the good work!

Always have to keep the abundance mindset when shopping in bin stores. Everyone rushes in to the new bins, searching frantically for the top 50 consumer electronics (name brand, new) and essentially put blinders on that prevents them from finding all the real gold :) and also, as a reseller you have to remember that one good day can usually make up for an entire week of bad (sourcing) days.
I spent my day off today watching your videos and you do it very well and give alot of useful info. I think you should add 1.oo per item for misc expenses like supplies, gas, transportation etc. And it seems like a lot but your misc. Expenses add up quickly and overlooked. Also in case you don't do it the garage you charge rent to yourself as business expenses and supplies as well. I will keep watching your videos and wish you luck. Merry Christmas!!

Hi Josh! I am a fairly new (1 year) Ebay reseller from the UK. My daughter and I started it as a hobby and have had a couple of good sales in the past few months. I’m sad that there don’t seem to be any thrifting videos from the UK actually IN the shops so I try to just pick up tips from you and The Niche Lady who is also really personable and helpful and sort of make it up as I go along. The best I can hope for is a small profit on my very small investment each month and that seems to be happening … so we’re happy! This " get dressed and put on real shoes" was one of the most productive tip I got years ago from sidetracked home executive.... Best tip for making your brain decide you are actually supposed to be productive.
