Master roshi and 17 are my favorite things about this arc

Not gonna lie eversince I watched OG dragonball watching Goku and Krillien lose it over almost losing master Roshi gets me Everytime he is a father figure to those two.
Evil containment takes a lot of energy

This marks the fourth time Goku has cried. The last three times were in the original DB Series. Since you’re not going to see it, I list them:
1. Goku has a reunion with his dead Grandfatjer Son Gohan (under a 24 hour existence on Earth, like Freeza here).
2. Kuririn’s first death.
3. Goku mortally wounds Piccolo Daimou. He thinks about Kuririn & Roshi (who had died trying to use the Mafuba/Evil Containmt Wave), having avenged their deaths.
U just spoiled everything like she still might watch Dragonball n so far that’s the only series she hasn’t been spoiled on until now 🤦🏾♂️
Master Rosh tried that sleepy illusion on Goku and it didn't work.
It did work…until Buruma woke Goku with the cry “Dinnertime!”
Here it would have worked if Ganos hadn’t shocked himself awake.

Roshi's episode when it first aired was very emotional for a lot of oldschool fans. There were many callbacks to DragonBall (where Rosh...Jackie Chun fought in tournaments). If you ever do watch some of DragonBall, you'll love those fights.
We've also come to the unfortunate reality I mentioned in a comment several videos ago (when I said another U7 member was eliminated in a worse way than Kuririn). Poor Tien quite literally never threw a single punch in the ToP, just a few energy based attacks and his multiform technique in this episode. Fun fact, you've seen that technique in action as well! Cell used it against Goku in their fight and the weakness was the reason it didn't work on Goku...who is well aware of the technique from his fights with Tien in DragonBall!
Dr. Rota was from the 6th universe btw.

No one would have gotten penalized because Roshi died pushing his own body by using too much energy
5:10 the voice actress is Amber Lee Connors. She does voice Mei Mei in JJK, but you may also recognize her as the English voice for Pieck (cart titan) in AoT, and also the voice of Android 18 in DragonBall Z Abridged! DBZA is the reason the casting crew at Crunchyroll discovered her and lead her to being one of the most recognizable female voices to be cast in modern anime English dubs.
If if Zeno² cared about rules at all, Roshi would be in trouble for offing himself 😅

No he didn’t he just trained them n made them stronger Goku learned from grampa gohan & Krillin learned from a temple
I like her reactions for dbs so far and I hate that I have to wait, but at the same time it’s worth it lol.

Evil Containment Wave / Mafuba used to kill the people who used it. they brought it back in Super and everyone was using it with no consequences
That only happened cause their energy than was low. Now their much stronger and have more energy. They literally talk about this in og db.

Tien and Roshi did great their definitely underrated 🐲🐉▶️!!!
The Roshi elimination of the first fighter in the dub is pretty plain. It's much more what you'd expect in the sub - making the defensive clutching of clothes to chest and leap from the ring to get away from him make more sense.
He died from his own attack so no penalty

If I am doing my math right universe 4 has 4 warriors left Goku took out 1 in the beginning krillen and 18 took out 2 and roshi just took out 3

Ep 105 is best ep of the tournament at this point in the saga. Roshi was given a lot of respect and love from the writers this episode. Basically wanked up to base Goku levels. Roshi putting in some serious work, at least among the humans.
Put some respect on this man's name.
Ep 106 however...... Ok bare with me, I have an essay for my problem with the whole Tien protrayal.
Rant Time:
In contrast to last episode, to be blunt this one was absolutely lame! In fact worst episode of the saga so far. Just a cap off to a legendary level of indifference towards Tien's character. Especially when they wanked Roshi to death last episode. In terms of writing and burying characters, Tien got it the worst (yes even over Yamcha). His credibility this saga was completely destroyed this saga.
First with Goku and the gang almost forgeting Tien existing. When Goku and Gohan try and figure out the 10-man roster for the ToP (Tournament Of Power), they only pick 9 people. Then when Gohan asks who the 10th fighter should be, Goku says something along the lines of how ‘they’ll figure it out later.’ They only just happen to encounter Tien at his dojo training a bunch of nameless nobodies. Goku only recruits him because he’s on his way to recruit Roshi (who that ep makes Tien look weak in a 1 v 1, then they follow it up with Gohan delivering a double helping of burying Tien in the next ep). Most people were too caught up in how cool they thought Roshi and Gohan (especially) looked to notice.
Even when Tien’s weakness compared to the rest of the characters is emphasized in Z, like him losing to Nappa, Semi-Perfect Cell, or Super Buu, they were able to keep Tien's dignity in tact. He was still written with a strong sense reverence for his honor & bravery.
In Super he is being made to look like trash even in comparison to the other humans. He's the only one in the cast from u7 participating that was not only shown to show no improvement, but was made to look weaker than he was previously. Tien Shinhan more like Tien Sh*than!
