Fun Fact: the scene where the marines are being briefed before landing on the planet was filmed last, after all the actors had formed friendships making the film.
Everyone seems surprised by the elevator scene. In real life all elevators are programmed to return to the ground floor during an emergency. Since Ripley was in the sub basement all the elevators were above her. Once the Queen saw her enemy escape in the ‘box’ all she had to do was enter the second ‘box’ and wait. The elevator would then follow its programming and close door then return to the ground floor. Now admittedly the doors of the elevator would have stayed shut since no one pushed the button.
The picture of her daughter was an actual picture of Sigourney Weaver's real mother.

One of the best action movies ever made! Terminator, Terminator 2, Die Hard, Predator, and this movie, they're all up there in no particular order. I'm sure I'm forgetting a few, but those would be in my favorite top ten for sure.

That decade was amazing for action movies, and practical effects was at its peak. Nothing is as realistic as those movies nowadays.
There’s a scene of unused clips when Ripley went to rescue Newt, she found Burke already cocooned and the egg pod was empty.
When Newt pops up for the first time, Drake means to blast her but Hudson has good target discrimination and dumps him to redirect his aim--that's why Drake gets pissed at him.
Fun fact: Michael Biehn was not the original cast as Corporal Hicks. It was James Remar, but due to personal issues (alcoholism) director James Cameron replaced him. Some scenes in the tunnels where you don´t see Hicks´s face were not reshot with Michael Biehn.

I can relate. I don’t have acute claustrophobia, but that pipe crawl is insane. I always have to remind myself that if that was me, I would be a synth, too, so no fear of tight spaces, and more strength. 😅
And today we learn just how claustrophobic Jane is, at 49:10 !!!
I believe that xenomorphs acquire genetic material and traits maybe even memories of the host they hatch from like at end of Aliens VS Predator. The xenomorph that came out of the Yautja (Predator) had traits and skills of the Yautja chest burst from. I think this is why the Yautja race take trophies of the best prey so they can extract the DNA traits they admire then inject those traits into themselves.

Actually guys the third alien movie is not Alien Resurrection it is just plane Alien3. You’re thinking of the 4th alien movie called Alien Resurrection.
The new one that just came out is called Alien Romulus, also Prometheus is an excellent movie if you’re into the alien movies also the one after Prometheus is called Alien Covenant and then Alien Romulus.

No. There are no more films after this. Ripley and Hicks went back to Earth and got married and adopted Newt as their daughter and lived happily ever after.
The third movie is called ALIEN 3, and the FOURTH movie is called Alien Resurrection! And yes, you should watch them, as well as the Predator and ALIEN VS: PREDATOR movies!

They filmed the opening scene with all the marines last so the actors would all have had time to be together and have more of a real interaction with eachother

@@kerry-j4m Those words hit harder if you've listened to/read the novel "ALIEN: River of Pain" which covers what happened at the colony. The colony had a unit of marines there for security/protection, and they got wrecked almost as badly as these marines.
A CPU (central processing unit) is the heart of the computer, thus the main frame computers used when this film was made had only one, so the whole computer was called the CPU. When this film was made (early1980s) smaller PCs (personal computers) were not generally in use and yet to replaced main frame computers.

It’s supposed to be around the size of Saturn’s moon Dione, which has been detected to at least have an oxygen ion exosphere (though not exactly a true tenuous atmosphere).
Check out the movies Predator(1987), Predator 2(1990), and The Thing(1982).
There is one MAJOR problem with the end and the queen. So once they land and we see the queen is there, we see she was in the landing gear area opening where the landing gear was. Which makes sense she would hide in the crevis. Until you realize when they fly off the planet, you see the ship has its gears back INSIDE. Which means the landing gear would have crushed and killed (or at least mamed) the queen.
So obviously its a pretty big shooting error to have had shown the ship with the gear back inside when flying. Some say she still damaged to avoid the landing gear and still fit inside, but that never made sense to me as its clear that gear snuggly fits inside the ship.
They are a teraforming colony that is why they don't have suits

If you play alien isolation. Hard mode is the standard difficulty. Below that and you don't really get the experience of alien isolation. Which is pure terror like it's supposed to be.

Im glad you watched the Special Edition. Its the only way to watch Aliens. Its the most epic movie in the franchise. This is truly the end of Ellen Ripleys story.
Dont watch Alien 3. Resurrection is a fun ride but to me, its barely canon. Prometheus and Covenant are the 3rd and 4th best films in the franchise.

The aliens in this movie are different from the 1st alien in part one . These one's are like soldiers when the other one was built more for sneaking and stuff . The aliens in this one are bigger and stronger and have more armour . The 1st alien had a smooth head when these one's have armoured plates across they're heads.
It's worth watching alien vs predator if you want more lore about the xenomorohs and where they come from

22:10 The only reason Ripley knows how to drive a power loader is because the Company revoked her flight officer license, and the only job she could get was at the loading docks. Which Burke mocks her for, at her apartment. That's why Apone and Hicks are surprised. This is how Cameron sets up the fight at the end.
The only ones you should watch after this one are “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant” because they focus on how the xenomorphs came about. Romulus might also be worth watching. I’d skip Alien 3, Resurrection, and the AVP movies, but you can obviously do what you want. 😅
I think every single Alien movie is worth watching. I don't think all of them are good, but that's a judgment call xD
Also if you want to know what actually happened with Ellen Ripley's daughter Amanda then you can either watch someone play "Alien Isolation" or you can play it for yourselves.

Aliens dont need food to survive and if the are no humans they go into hyper sleep, they survive harsh weather and can live for ever
19:55 the term "xenomorph" come from the latin words for strange (xeno) and shape (morph). goreman uses this to describe the aliens becuase it is a creature they havnt encountered before. but since people assumed the name xenomorph was actually what the aliens were called its just kinda stayed. like if they landed on a planet with gummy bear creatures on it, if they never seen them before they would be classified as xenomorphs aswell.
They mentioned twice that *Ripley's report is on disc* for them to watch. So they didn't have to sit there and listen to her. Also, Hudson was being insubordinate because he is _short._ Meaning he only had two weeks and then he was out of the service.

I actually met Carrie Henn (NEWT) last year at a sci-fi convention; days before Halloween. Wish I could share a picture. Got her autograph on my Aliens DVD. Aliens was her only movie.
I was amazed that Bishop remained useful after ripped in half, unlike a certain gold droid in Empire Strikes Back. What you perceived to be his guts were actually tubes, hoses, and wires. The actor who played him didn’t know how to read until he was 30 years old!
I was ecstatic when the movie was mentioned in an Avengers film and the basis for a rescue plan! They even did a camera shot that was reminiscent of it.
Glad you watched the Special Edition of Aliens. Do NOT bother with the remaining sequels. HUGE disappointments.

Honestly, watch them all. Whatever else, you deserve to see all of them at least once and come to your own viewpoint on how much you like/dislike them. There's no denying the first two are utterly brilliant, and the others are less beloved, but there are things to enjoy in each. It's worth at least a shot for each film.
The third one isn't just bad. It actively shits on the legacy of Aliens. Being bad is forgivable. What Alien3 did is not
@@mikefish1124 I certainly can't argue that. I hated what the 3rd one did to the ending of Aliens, among other things. There's some parts of it that are an interesting movie by themselves. Along with Resurrection, I often felt they were interesting movies on their own, but as part of the Alien franchise I wasn't happy.

I think you have alien 3 then alien resurrection then prometheus then alien covenant and then romulous. There's also one particular alien game called alien isolation which I've heard often referred to as the scariest game ever. I decided to give it a go and I played for like 15 minutes half an hour until literally after the first space walk over to a shop in distress then I got too scared to walk around in the dark I'm going to try it again tomorrow night and try and be brave. The game I think is after this movie, I also played it in the dark as I usually love a good scare but maybe I need the lights on

Hello Justine & Jane!😊 "Game over man, game over!" You can skip "Alien 3" (1992) and "Alien Resurrection" (1997) IMO. Many people found the story for Alien 3 disappointing.

Alien 3 is worth a watch, Alien Resurrection has its moments but was a big disappointment for me... the more recent movies are quite good to help piece together more of the history/timeline
