    The sticker SHOULD say : POS bumper, can only support weight of a sewer hose!

      Not sure why the frame manufactures do this but all of them do....has to be a reason. I am asking about it

    And that’s why I added the heavy duty chassis/bumper support brackets. Wasn’t cheap but a great pair of heavy metal.

    HALLO 👋🏻 I hope the RV manufacturers will start ASAP making those bumpers a whole lot stronger so there's absolutely no problem carrying alot of extra gear on bike racks and cargo carrier racks. Please do this for us. Several people have other things on their tow vehicle roof and in the pickup truck bed. God Bless, happy and safe RVing 🌞🌼⚘

      Tons of manufactures like the entire Jayco line and the Flagstaff line have started adding 2" receivers on the back for this very reason. I like that idea better then beefing up the bumper

      @@KeystoneRVCenter What I mean is if they really reinforced that 4"by4" bumper with welded brackets and even made it a little thicker than just 1/8" thick walled square tube. That way we could add practically whatever we needed like a cargo carrier to hold a generator, more luggage etc. I also really wish that the Highland Ridge Open Range 22 foot travel trailer that was 100 inches wide and had a rear slide and another slide on each side would be made again. I have a Keystone with a rear King bed slide and it's great because once it's out we are left with a permanent dinette and a permanent sofa, instead of that Murphy bed gizmo that must be either a bed or a sofa but cannot be both at the same time. Only thing I need is a slide out on each side. The rear slide turns a 22 foot trailer into a 27 footer and the side slides actually make it extremely liveable and spacious as a much longer travel trailer. Thanks

      @KeystoneRVCenter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Might not want that much weight back there because of taking too much weight off the trailers tongue.
      Don't worry rear slides go in and out of fashion with the RV industry. We are due for another round of them shortly. White cabinets are back so we should only have another 3-5 years max lol

    Bolt on some safety struts they will carry up to 400lbs case closed on bike racks or cargo carrier. Plan on bolting a 2" receiver for my bike rack like you demonstrated. Surprised that you didn't offer that advice. Oh well those struts will beef it up for sure.

    I learned my lesson using one of those on my last trailer. Only hauled 4 bikes (2 adult and 2 kid) a few times and it broke the welds on my bumper....never again!!!

  • @topgun5399
    @topgun5399 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I would attach a universal 2" receiver hitch and fasten it with 8 grade bolts to the frame. They have different hitches for carrying bikes and other attachments like a carrier. But if you plan on pulling a small trailer they have hitches that can be applied for towing. Just don't go crazy. Myself I have 2" receiver hitch that is bolted just for my 2" receiver bike rack and we just have 2 bikes we bring. But I can put up to 4 bikes if I wanted too. DON'T PUT THOSE 2" RECEIVER HITCHES ON THOSE BUMPERS The welds are cheap and most bumpers can't take no more then a 100lbs. Just add it up factory tire and braket that alone is around 70lbs + you add a bumper hitch + bike rack+ bikes now your way over the limit of those welds not to mention your extending the what you call bounce weight away from the bumper so get a universal rv hitch and have piece of mind. Besides I could be the guy behind you on the highway and that bumper breaks and bikes +rack bumper you name it could all over the road and I'm the next guy that has all your stuff on my hood or windshield. Now your in deep due! due! So get smart as they say and eather get a hitch or reinforce that week bumber.

    What are your thoughts on racks that mount on the A frame in the front of the camper?

    • @KeystoneRVCenter
      @KeystoneRVCenter  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Depends on tow vehicle. It adds a ton of tongue weight. If your factory hitch was close before this will only make it worse. Nissan Armadas for example are 850 lbs of tongue weight. If you were close before you might be pushing it over the edge with that. Depends on the setup and how much turning you will keep. I will have to do a video to explain

  • @michaelmabrey295
