Man or woman, if you're a teacher, don't take advantage of the kids !I'd be very interested to compare women's sentences to male counterparts. In general they get 60% less jail time and are 75% more likely to receive probation instead of jail time.I don't like those double standards.

I was 16 when a teacher tried to groom me I live in Australia the laws are rubbish over here she won’t be in prison for long or maybe she won’t get a prison sentence our justice system will excuse her for her dirty crimes. I work for the Department in a high school probably 15min away from where she worked. I could never imagine nor think of doing something disgusting as this! These are kids! A quick google search says between 16 and 17 depending on the territory/state but because it was a teacher student relationship it’s a crime.

The problem with this case isn't the age of the victim, it's the power dynamic.

These allegations are beyond shocking… if true, this teacher’s career and reputation are done for!
There must be a way to at least try and weed out these predators before they get into a job, surely? :/ They should have to complete mandatory therapy, or psychology modules during training, or something. Would be interesting to know how different institutions/governments are planning to address this, as the number of new cases coming out, even just this year is ridiculous.
