I remeber when I lived in South Dakota I was able to get on the edge of the rain as at the end of my street it was raining lightly but where I was standing it was dry. It stayed like this for 10 seconds before the rain gently pattered onto me and the ground slowly it increased I remeber seeing the gentle haze like a sheet of see through cloth and being amazed with this lucky chance
