I love it when you said "People started to believe it, and overtime, it became the truth". I think that sentence is just on point about how humans from modern eras have gradually stopped caring about the actual truth, and it has become a very relative thing. Now, it looks that something is only true when a lot of people believe it, and many contradictory things are stated as "the truth" at the same time. So I'm happy this story unveiled some real truth!

The discovery of King Richard III’s body under a Leicester car park in 2012 is incredible! reshaping his legacy and giving him a dignified reburial. Also the lead investigator's instinct was great
There’s a lot here that’s great. With that said, two notes: on the writing/structure, put us in someone’s perspective that allows information to be revealed in the most interesting way (as opposed to literally showing us where the body is buried in the first 10 seconds), and on the animation/renders, experiment more with high contrast lighting (as opposed to high key and flat). Absolutely fascinating how mysteries such as the King Richard Burial sight were solved with modern means centuries after they were thought to have been lost to nature, makes me wonder what mysteries in the present that we deem unsolvable will be possibly unraveled by a future generation.
This is incredible!! I remember my AP Lit teacher told us this story and it changed the way I think about history; we really don’t know what is true and what is not until we dig deep because often the surface level is skewed or plain wrong. Now I have this very high quality visual to go with the story. Thank you and keep up the good work!!
I like the easy to understand explanation of the dna identification process. It’s crazy that even after 500 years you can still get so much info from a skeleton.
Ig the R for the reserve is also for Richard as he also coincidentally had a hunchback spine with ne shoulder higher than the other. But that is truly amazing how they managed to trace back 16 GENERATIONS which for me would be the biggest challenge to this archeology pursuit. Amazing videos btw. Wish they were longer lol
Wow, when I watched the movie The Lost King with Sally Hawkins, I thought it was just that, the movie! Glad they found him and hopefully gave him a proper burial, RIP soldier King!
Great story! And a very well done video, great script! The whole history of the search for the body of Richard III is very nicely presented! Thank you!
incredible, the mystery/confusion of where Richard III was actually buried goes to show how much history is dictated by those who wrote about what happened, rather than what actually happened..
The discovery of King Richard III’s remains is nothing short of extraordinary-a perfect blend of historical detective work, cutting-edge science, and sheer determination. To think that a lost king, buried over 500 years ago, was found beneath an unassuming car park is mind-blowing. This incredible find not only solved a centuries-old mystery but also brought history to life in the most tangible way. The fact that DNA analysis confirmed his identity highlights the power of modern technology to unlock the secrets of the past. It’s a true testament to the resilience of historical evidence and the curiosity that drives human discovery!
The guy who paved the parking lot knew that Richard was there years ago. This was reported in the news. He painted a large R and spray paint over the location. He told people about it, but nobody listened. The fact that you people are taking credit for this now is astounding to me.
He was told by the guy that paved the parking lot before him -- who was told by the guy before him: how many people do you think pave parking lots ... small group and they talk
amazing story. It hooks you really from the beginning til end. Hoping for more stories to reveal especially those late people whom I knew only from books. It must be discover since we are now on the technology era.
So basically if you're rich and famous have lots of kids so if you die and everyone forgets where they buried you, maybe 500 years down the line they can track one of your descendants down.
Imagine being killed, being buried in a church that was closed down, then people telling a stories about being thrown off a bridge, and being discovered 527 years later in a parking lot of a British neighborhood. Richard must be rolling in his grave right now.
Succeding in something that you thought nearly impossible is just insane! It was first day of work and finding chance was very low, but just only after 6 hours Richard shows up.
Thanks for finishing the story for me. I hadn't heard anything past the point where the searchers were going to dig in the parking lot. Now, I know the rest of the story. Paul Harvey would have done this story proud.

Absolutely fascinating how mysteries such as the King Richard Burial sight were solved with modern means centuries after they were thought to have been lost to nature, makes me wonder what mysteries in the present that we deem unsolvable will be possibly unraveled by a future generation.
So true! So many mysteries to, undoubtedly, be solved in the future.
There have been hundreds on cities found in the amazon and south america through lidar, its amazing the extent of whats been "uncovered"
Wow, finding it on the first day of the dig is incredible
AI is scary i prefer people putting in real work
Great story! And a very well done video, great script! The whole history of the search for the body of Richard III is very nicely presented! Thank you!
Thank you so much for watching. I'm so glad that you enjoyed the content - it really means a lot.
incredible, the mystery/confusion of where Richard III was actually buried goes to show how much history is dictated by those who wrote about what happened, rather than what actually happened..
Who is "the guy" and where can we read his story?
What's the guys name?
He was told by the guy that paved the parking lot before him -- who was told by the guy before him: how many people do you think pave parking lots ... small group and they talk
@ the way you're talking is dumb.
Sarcasm is very much over valued.
@@Eman-vp5wk that isn't sarcasm -- it is how it happens: sarcasm would be like, "oh look, the boat builder is here to line us up, eh!"
Nice discovery and a heartwarming story from Greyfriars Monastery to Leicester Cathedral🇬🇧💕
Dead internet theory is being proven right by this channel 😢
What
It’s strange to think that the physical landscape around his burial site changed so much in 400 years.
Ah yes, isn't space beautiful? 🥰
Yes this video is all about space
It's a... parking space.
Richard had to be buried under a literal parking lot with little space

This is really interesting for me as someone who was named after him by my mother who's a historian. This is fascinating.
5:59 This sounds so unthinkable to think its 527 years up until 2012
I literally loved this documentary
Man I was so enthralled until the sponsorship, seriously?
amazing story.
Incredible content. From the narration to the animation. Great job! Just gained a new subscriber
Thank you so much. I'm so glad you enjoyed it! Welcome to the channel.
Imagine being killed, being buried in a church that was closed down, then people telling a stories about being thrown off a bridge, and being discovered 527 years later in a parking lot of a British neighborhood. Richard must be rolling in his grave right now.
I live in Leicester, and the maps and 3D modelling are spot on 👍
3.02 advertising your replacement xD
What an insane search - it's a miracle how it all played out!
This is a fire video! Sending this to my dad who loves your channel!
Thanks for sharing. I'm so glad you enjoyed this one!
Succeding in something that you thought nearly impossible is just insane! It was first day of work and finding chance was very low, but just only after 6 hours Richard shows up.
Ai generated art sucks it just steals work made by real people please don’t advertise it
Thanks for finishing the story for me. I hadn't heard anything past the point where the searchers were going to dig in the parking lot. Now, I know the rest of the story. Paul Harvey would have done this story proud.
6:42 "[...] every modern technique imaginable" just being Carbon 14 datation makes me lose my mind
They also used mitochondrial DNA
DNA
Fascinating....so much luck involved in finding Richard's grave.
04:23 Calling John Wycliffe, one of the first christian reformers in Europe who also produced the first English Bible, is just wild
