The 2022 Dubya World Vet Motocross Championships is in the books and with over 1000 entries coming riders who've traveled from near and far, we'd have to say the event weekend was a success. Glen Helen saw some deep ruts and lots of bumps this weekend and the unique track layout made for lap times in the three-minute range. The pits were full, the classes were packed with great riders and the spectators witnessed some great battles. Here is a recap of the two day event at Glen Helen Raceway, filmed by MXA's Digital Editor, Trevor Nelson.

82 years old and STILL racing his dirt bike!!! That is absolutely amazing. With all my injuries and only 50 I hope I am still able put my leg over a bike and get to the starting gate at that age.
It's a very rare breed, we have one in our riding group that'll be 82 this month. I used to imagine in the coming decades, it would become more common. But then again, every generation following Lars' has consecutively become softer and more pussyfied than the previous. Not to mention the impact the Covid jabs will have on longevity. Either way, It's an incredible feat to even live past 80, to be living it on a dirtbike is a miracle. How many entries were in the 80+ plus class? (asking for a friend 🤫)

Jeremy "Showtime" McGrath is a super talented, down to earth, very humble guy, which makes him even more likeable. He has always been approachable and good to his fans. Not all of these former motocross racers are, however, Jeremy never forgot who he was and where he came from. The best kind of human being and person in my book. Many of the former professional motocross racers should take the same lead in the way they carry themselves and treat their fans. Jeremy is a very admirable, solid, genuine dude, that is one of the most talented and best that this sport ever had. Big Jeremy McGrath fan here in New Orleans, La. Much love and respect for Jeremy.
Love the two strokes that we grew up with, but at 63 years old, it's been awhile since I rode a 125! About fifteen years ago, I contemplated buying a four stroke, but after test riding one, I passed!! I almost went over the bars going into the first turn; letting off the throttle is like applying the brakes!!!
I could not agree more, aggressive engine braking is terrible.

I had such an awesome time and didn’t even race. Spent time talking to Lars, Josh, Jeremy, Bob Hannah and even ran in to Ping. Such a great time hanging out with family, friends and just watching the races! Gotta love GH!

This event is on my bucket list forsure. Raced 85s when I was young, then couldn’t ride for a few years due to family finances, then soon after getting first big bike in 2011 had a major injury which kept me off the bike for a decade until buying a bike last summer. Been riding and racing as much as possible throughout the last year, I am more obsessed and love the sport more than ever. At 28 it’s wild lining up next to 14-18 yr olds at the races but it’s the most fun iv had in over a decade. Hoping to make it down to SoCal next year for this event. & if not definitely when I turn 30!

It is absolutely amazing how much Pasha has done to bring back the 125 Smokers into the Limelight! I had two friends using a couple of my bikes in the races and love supporting Pasha’s efforts!
Pasha loves this sport more than most and he's doing everything he can to grow the Pasha 125 races. It's pretty cool for him to have McGrath, Brown and Dubach on the line! Alessi would've been there but he was racing Arenacross this weekend
Looks like a ton of fun. Would make a cool bucket list weekend to go watch and race this.

I hope to God one day, I am able to travel all the way to California to ride all these tracks that I see you guys riding on. Says getting a motorcycle is one of the hardest things for me right now it’s the only thing that saved my life from my depression.

I grew up reading MXA, as a kid in Vermont where we have nearly NO motocross, built tracks on my land here... I'm 51 now, and wish I still had a bike to ride!!

I spectated on Saturday, saw MC and I think his dad on the infield. He was so gracious to all that came up to him. A woman even handed him a baby, she wanted him to hold it for a pic. I chuckled.
Jeremy is very easy to talk to, he's a great ambassador for the sport!
@@joshmosiman1955 I've run into him at Home Depot, Encinitas. Talked to him there a bit, he was very cool, also other times at SX. He sure is patient and giving.

Thanks! I've had a fair share of injuries. I tore my auxiliary nerve and have no deltoid muscle on that shoulder now. It took lots of therapy to get back to riding and I still have a hard time keeping my left elbow up when I'm tired, but it's all part of it!

The only thing to make it any better, would be to make it all 2stroke’s like we have in 🇬🇧
My dad wad very disappointed he couldn't race this year, he was there but broke his leg days before. He was training pretty hard the last bit too to get his championship back after missing the last couple years. Maybe I can get over my meniere's disease and be able to ride one day and join as well.
I was bummed that your Dad Pete couldn't race too! It's always fun to see him battling at the front. Ménière's disease doesn't sound fun, it would be great to have you out there!

Man, as a 26 year old myself, It is really hard to get a bike and get out there racing. It's a shame how prohibitively expensive fun things have gotten (and boring things too)
What's the purpose of Durbya wheels over stock wheels? Lighter ?
The main benefit is that they're stronger, the secondary benefit is that they're cool looking!

I don't usually notice but Mike Browns bike was so obviously way faster than Mcgrath and Dubachs bikes. Mxa do an unscientific vet years to bike years test. 50+ vets get new ktms and 30s get 90s 125s.
Unpopular opinion: I hate the sound of 2strokes :)
