I have multiple Google acc and my primary account have all these turned ON except Ads Personalization.
While in the other accounts, I have disable everything except TH-cam search history!

Fun Fact: even if you do that settings, google will collect everything as is, only thing is they will not show you the data in the dashboard 😅

If you've taken some cheap insurance for your vehicle, they have a hidden clause saying that, at the time of accident, you have to prove that you were in that particular location (using Google location history or any other GPS data). So it does have its uses too.

It’s 💯 percent correct and it’s not about the cheap insurance only I have experienced it with ICICI Lombard also. my scooter had an accident and I forgot to take pictures of the location at that moment then they asked me for the Google Location history timeline and thankfully it was turned on and Google recorded everything and They passed my claim
For minor accidents, why does location matter for insurance? I'll say the accident happened right outside my house as hit and run.

It may be extremely useful for those worst case scenarios where if you get lost, you'll be found thru that.

Same here. I once found a hair salon like this. Remembered the date but the gullys looked different. And timeline history came in handy.
Last year my friends sister met with an accident on her college road.
And she had to go through 2 surgeries a month apart. And didnt have an insurance.
They did the first surgery immediately and tried to get an insurance which could be availed for the second surgery, they said during the claim that accident occurred after taking insurance policy. (lets keep aside right wrong).
When the Insurance agent came to verify.
He asked for her phone.
And checked this particular location history which we were totally unaware about. And checked history for the mentioned date.
Fortunately on the mentioned date she did go to college after her first surgery for some formalities. And this recorded her location and it matched with the incident location and incident time.
The agent said 80% of the claim requests are rejected right here and gets marked as false claim which reflects on your profile somewhere and makes it harder for yourfuture claims.
And mind you this is a feature we did not even sign up for. Which can be used against us anytime.
We should be aware about all the information that is been recorded on us.
Same it even includes Google Photos, nice feature!!

I really use this feature to ask my faculty to provide attendance... Even I went to the college somtimes they wont mark my attendance at the end of the month when I go to check my attendance I will show the timeline saying that I came to the college and mark my attendance 🙂

Only location history needs to be turned off if you're concerned about Google tracking your time line. If your turn off web and activity, then you can't use home and work locations.
This is a useful feature for me.
It helps to find some locations which we have forgotten.
Works well if you have google photos backup turned on.
We can find a particular photo from the past and check the date. And using that date we can go to the past timeline and find out the places or hotel which we forgot the name.
I on the other hand like to keep track of my google map timeline 😅
I actually enjoy revisiting the timeline and activity

Its very creepy yet nostalgic to see as it includes very detailed report of location combined with Google Photos.

I have been using this feature for years, and I totally love it.
The same timeline location history helped me claim my motor vehicle insurance since it was out of town on a highway. They used timeline tracking to take proof that I was in that location at the said date and time during the accident.

I'm a paralegic as so it doesn't oncern me at all as I've been in my bedroom for years. So if you are 90% disabled and you are in India, don't worry, there's not much traveling you can do in order for Google to collect your location data :)

Google Maps will be shut down if all people will shut down their location sharing option because Google Maps fetch data from all of us, that's how it shows traffic on the roads, exact time to reach at destination.

Location history can actually be a good thing sometimes, when you forget wgere you were a few days ago or maybe when you have lost something.
Goggle says it would delete your location history,but it also said it wouldn't tack us on incognito so...

Recently i was at road accident, my insurance company was asking about my presence proof for the claim at accident site it was helpfull to show my map timeline for the day to support my activity.
Actually it's useful 😂, sometimes I forgot where I can went on that day. Soo this feature help me alot, sooo for me this is a very useful feature.
I love that feature, and also if u turn off web activity u won't be able to get history suggested to you when u search for something and for timeline, I like to see where I was traveling during those times, it's fun.
In Apple we need to give always allow to location setting, only then it will take the location history through google map or any other app.

I have history from 2011. Infact it is useful if u want to access info like wen did I last visit this place.
Also wen u delete something from Google you only delete for your own self. Nothing gets deleted with Google. Only it becomes in accessable for you.

This is a good feature, am using for almost 4 years and its good to have a watch on your own location timeline.

Location history is turned on for me from years.. when I grow old and lonley, will pass time looking at my history and web activity. These things will make old age more bearable.
After turning off, you will see the same youtube video recommendation over and over again it won't refresh
Actually it is pretty useful ngl, I like that feature, and it exists like for 10 years or something.
If you are using any mobile phone and internet, then privacy is already a myth for you.
So, it's better to use these useful features. And mind you, this location feature is extremely useful.
Me who likes looking at my maps timeline especially when I forgot where I went after 2 days. Quite handy for forgetful people like me.

Please make a video on suggesting a variety of budget laptops that are very useful for seamless editing (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, .etc) and good for smooth gameplay for somewhat high end games, that is also sustainable for a long run (more than 5 years). Or if I should rather build a PC for these uses, what should I know and where should I get started?
location history can be useful when i want to go to a place where i previously went but forgot the name.
so i just keep it on with 3 months auto delete.
The timeline is a good feature and it helps a lot in day to day life...why you want to turn off if it is good service.

its actually useful despite this feature might seem sus to many you are not some celebrity or criminal to hide your data, it comes in handy remembering locations you have been to
Actualy, this feature helps me lot I could find exact date and time when I visited the place, and also one day I was going back to the same place again after one year but I didn't remember bus timing so I take a look in timeline and found the bus time 😂
