I really don't get why the mocking of Aquaman started. He's pretty cool, powerful and have a nice design. From a cynical and mean point of view, his concept is not goofier than a man wearing tights, a bat cowl and a cape fighting a clown; so I don't get why we keep seeing mocks and nasty comments about Aquaman abd not from other heroes. But I agree with you, Mermaid Man doesn't feel mean spirited. In a weird way, he's more like an hommage to Aquaman. I'm not much a fan of old / retired superheroes (like Frank Miller's Batman, or Watchmen), but Mermaid Man is so funny and likeable than I enjoy so much his episodes.
I completely agree! The concept itself of a superhero will always be somewhat ridiculous imo but I've always thought that Aquaman isn't really any goofier than most comic book characters, and Mermaid Man parodies him in such a wholesome way that it does feel more like a homage
This show SpongeBob did do the best job to Aquaman.
Always remember that Adam west voiced mermaid man & Bart ward voiced barnacle boy and that that episode was fantastic
