There are sites in the infield area that should be large enough. I’d point you to the Alabama State Park site to take a look at site lengths: www.reservealapark.com/AlabamaWebHome/
I stayed there back in November of 2018 and whoever designed the camp sites must have been smoking crack. They were supposed to remodel the campground in 2021 but got pushed back to 2023. I hope they do a better job with those camp sites.
It’s close to Birmingham AL, so if there are alligators in waters near Birmingham than I suppose it would be possible. In general, I think you may have to be a bit farther south for gators to regularly be in the lakes and streams.

Thanks for the review. We have been there several time as it is not very far for us. May I strongly recommend RV campers try for the A side as some locations on the B side are just lots parallel to the road with few trees.
It’s a favorite, been going there since the 70’s😎 It has great restaurants close by & it’s right off i65😃

Hopefully, they will update the campground next year.
