Wish you could also educate the state parks on how great it is to watch the stars at night, I was shocked several years ago when the park service made improvements to Desoto State park. However, the all night sodium vapor lights in the camping area ruined staying at the park. I had been going to the park two weekends a month during the winter to kayak Little River Canyon. At night we were use to sky watching and getting out our telescope, but with all the new lights, that was not possible. They could at lease turn them off at 9:00 pm setting the stage for "quite hours". that hasn't happened so we have just stopped coming. I've been bring my scouts up there since 1997 and they always look forward to hiking and swimming in the river. I actually made a list of places to go when we would go up at Madri Gras or Easter. We set up base camp and do day trips to various areas for hiking and other adventures. We have our places to go in the summer and the winter. Keep up the good work.
