@austinburrington6434 if you go to his recent videos, you’ll see he posted another piece from this performance and he includes that he was 18 at the time. still impressive asf
I must say that you have one of the most liquidy, smooth, but also crisp tones, that is so accurately in tune, vibrato excellent. technique and tempo is so accurate and perfect, it's amazing, I've heard so many classicalsaxophone players on youtube but this is definitely one of if not the best video I've seen yet, Bravo!!!
Amazing interpretation I used to play alto too for 2 years and I got really good but I gave it up for violin and im currently trying to play this piece and hearing you just makes me want to practice more. Must be really hard to learn this on sax.
@Valentinkmusic what fingering do you use for that altissimo G# at 1:26 because that tone is the best tone I’ve heard from any classical saxophonist on that note
Merci 😎
Any classical pieces anyone would recommend for a high school level starting in classical saxophone? I been playing Alto for 3+ years but all I can find is pop music and jazz 🥱🙄 and I don’t know what composers would be good for someone starting with classical music since there are so little
If you don't have them, the Ferling etudes are good for classical chops, but they're pretty hard, you'll probably use them for years. Otherwise, Bach and Mozart has a lot of stuff that's been transposed to saxophone, I recommend checking a verified music site. Also, sorry if you've found stuff already lol, I just saw the comment
Very nice entry level pieces are two sonatas for saxophone from the Rascher repertoire: the Eccles sonata and the Handel sonata no. 3. There is also Introduction, dance, and furioso by Couf. Also try and pick up a copy of Top Tones for Saxophone. Here is a link to a list of classical repertoire: www.kutztown.edu/Departments-Offices/M-R/Music/Documents/Jazz%20Saxophone%20Repertoire.pdf
Dude this is literally the greatest classical saxophone video on TH-cam!! WOW!!!!!

Listen to Raaf Hekkema too
Still is
Crazy to think he was 16 when he did this.

1:27 Those two notes alone were so pleasant on their own as well.

There are a lot of pieces honestly, but i would recommend to start practicing the 48 ferling etudes from Marcel Mule
piece name?
It’s in the title. Paganini Caprice 1. It’s scored violin, he’s playing it on a saxophone, they are a transcribed version.
Цель поставлена
