I think Lin would strongly disagree (not like I’m one to speak for him, but anyway); everyone has their talents, and anyone can become great. Little tip though: Aspiring to be ‘like’ someone is great, but don’t ‘become’ them. If you want to, you can become a great writer, singer, or wherever the thing you love lies, but you’re not gonna become it by making a parody/copy of In The Heights or Hamilton. You can do it!!

This was one of the best interviews i've watched, the questions and topics were somehow strung together fluedly and they made sense and the responses from Lin were elequent and intelligent and truley felt honest, (the shoes. It's the shoes.) And it felt like watching a conversation between old friends and I love these kinds of interviews for that reason. I really dislike the two-minute interviews because they all feel the same and don't have time to actually go in depth about something and they just feel rushed. I could listen to interviews like this for hours like a podcast and really get involved in the coversation, even though i'm not even there.

In addition, Hamilton will probably become a movie and not be performed live until the time comes when it can be used by other theatre, ie community and even H.S. Therefore, yea, it was great P.R. for him to reply to you ASAP, yea, I suspect unless someone with a disability, is cast in the movie, it probably won't happen. Yet, let's reconsider this. What do you infer to by 'disability'? Hummmm....? Sincerely? If you are referring to a physical disability that's visually easily seen, I got it. BUT, (BIG BUT) odds are there is probably someone in one of the numerous casts that has a disability that cannot be seen. Case in point, celiac sprue, not being able to digest gluten, is an autoimmune disability. I'm sure there are other disabilities that are not visual. Yes, I have first hand experience of theatre and disabilities. I'm referring to job participants, coworkers, family, friends and now.....myself. Think bigger, Regardless of where you're coming from. To date, there has only been one person with a physical disability ever cast in a play as part of the main cast and that was Ali Stroker. I get that any and all disabilities are hard to deal with in their own way and each deserves to be represented, but I feel as if there is more doubt in what we can and can't do compared to those that go unseen and we need to change that.
There are axe indeed many different disabilities, and many are not visible. It's extraordinary that Alex Lacamoire, the arranger and musical director of Hamilton and many other shows, is partially deaf.
