India could gain something in the short term from doing the same thing with Bangladesh again, but in the long run, they won't pursue a sustainable cooperation and will likely incite the majority of Bangladeshis to harbor animosity toward India.

You did help me to change some of my conceptions. Although I think many in the opposition coalition downplay the sway of Islamist parties who are not just anti-India (which is fine), but are okay with using violent means to hurt Hindus (in Bangladesh), and even help external powers to work against India near its borders.
