@@mantutarafdar5508 you are just considering over all GDP.
that's the only winning factor India will have.
It's stupid to consider and judge a country only by overall GDP and it becomes even stupider when you compare 2 countries with huge population gap based on over all GDP. [Like India has 8x more population than Bangladesh. So, each Bangladeshi have to earn 8x more than an Indian to take over India's overall GDP. Which isn't possible only in 10-15 years.]
Before you say it's hard to increase GDP per capita for countries like India with 1.4b population... just look at China.
also, it's not like Bangladeshi people are getting rich with oil money. The only resource we have is population as well.
As so, India lagging behind because:
either Indians are not smart enough
or Bangladesh is really doing well.

Faaria, First time I to watch your show. Excellent discussion. Many points have been discussed. I want to bring up one more business idea: cleaning up cities in Bangladesh. Let's think about it as a business opportunity not just a responsibility and obligation on citizens. However, if we take this as a business opportunity. It will provide incentives to clean up cities. Some people can thrive on it. Let's make this a money-making opportunity. If we can clean up the cities that will help foreign investments a lot. Faria, please discuss this in your show next time. Dhaka is behind in cleanliness and hygiene. Let's not stay behind anymore. I am sure businesses can come up with innovative solutions to clean up the cities it will help everyone.

All this is all good and well but massive negatives in Bangladesh need to be overcome:
    1. Massive corruption by the ruling party. Looting public funds.
    2. No existent law and order.
    3. Bribery is commonplace.
    4. Development is only in Dhaka mainly, not nationwide. Rest of the country is still stuck in the 70's.
    5. The battling Begums, BNP & AL constantly at each others throats creating political instability. Both parties need to be dismantled.
    6. Extrajudicial killings by RAB, police, CID. I.e no law and order or accountability.
List goes on, so Bangladesh is doing ok but so much work is needed to change the negatives.

Bangladesh has major problems are one party & one person's rule for 15 years Autocratic Government, lack of democracy , Extra Judicial killing/ force disappearance ( recently a single mother has been arrested without any case or warrant by RAB and died in custody ) , oppression of journalism, Controversial Digital Act ( Arrest without warrant without a case lodged) , Main opposition party is not allowed to do any political activities, false arrest, nepotism, corruption, etc. Bangladesh would be much more prosperous with Democratically elected government. Money is in only few people's hand. In general poor are becoming more poor. We have to see GDP because population is 180 million in that tiny little country. In Bangladesh it is very risky for people or news media to say a word against the present government . Valuation of Bangladeshi Taka against dollar / Euro is going down everyday .

I'm amazed from reading all these comments. A lot of people are complaining about Bangladesh, yet 10 years ago we had nothing to brag about. Being Bengali was shameful because they called us a basket case with a hole. We were like a poor African country in the middle of Asia. Many didn't have food or a roof to live under. We depended on other countries giving us food out of pity. But all of that is changing with the help of the current government. We aren't magically growing on the economical sector, someone is obviouslydoing it. Without this government we'll go back to being anorexic and eat once a month or die starving. You can't blame the government for everything, because they're not the only one building a country. A country with such a high population is very hard to maintain, especially when it started from barely anything. The population must contribute too and change their old habits to make the country better. For those talking negative about the government, stop being brain washed and wake up already. You can only complain now because you have something compared to 10 years ago.

IFC's understanding of the Bangladesh populations increase of buying power irrespective of the social status, is faulty..
The poor and below & mid average income generator family's are experiencing lower buying power themselves for which they are sending females to work though the social norm is against it still. Such, increase in female labour is not in direct correlation but opposite to indicate the buying power increase. Hence IFC is really not understanding economical indication of Bangladesh really well, I must say.

Not necessary to become a trillion dollar economy. Just keep the trend of current development. Suddenly BD will reach to a point when you will see that economy has jumped much beyond a trillion dollar.

The best thing happened to Bangladesh after it’s independence was to have madam hitler as pm. Without the crushing of politics in everyday life of Bangladeshi things would not have progressed as much.
Democracy is only suitable in a developed country.

Mortgage in village area is essential. The remittance earnings from village used in unproductive items. Should there be controlled mortgage in village housing 67000 village could have trillion dollar investment.

Consumers market is not desirable rather had it been entrepreneurship development that would lead our nation in a sustainably developed position, therefore we need to make sure that potentials i.e merit, labour, time and money are being utilized in right direction with the guidance of patriotic Leaders.
