This song hits different as an adult and you understand the lyrics deeply
Agreed 💯
Not tht deep bro.. I'm still pretty shallow.
Way better than that lion king anniversary
Very beautiful song
I started sobbing towards the end… very powerful piece!
People complaining about the tempo and arrangement of this clearly have never seen the movie and have only heard Vanessa's version on radio. This is the same tempo as the original song, this is how it was written and meant to sound, and yes this was an absolute magical performance. So educate yourselves.
Yes this is the Judy Kuhn Tempo from the movie. They have no right to complain
J LIKE THE SLOWER VERSION BUT ITS BEAUTY BOTH WAYS
**the speed button is there too.. change it to 0.75x
it's the same as the movie tempo
Yah, go watch a cartoon for crying out loud! 😄
Once upon a time, Disney was great.
Underrated comment. So true. I am so happy I grew up during the golden age. It may never be seen again.
The song is in the top five of the entire Disney songbook. The rest of movie on the other hand, not so good.
SO TRUE
Let's be real, if Pocahontas was released today the right would call it woke garbage and claim this song is racist against white people for blaming them for climate change, colonialism and exploitation of natural recourses for profit or some other nonsense they would come up with
Now disney who?
Tempo is spot on. Classic. For those who havent seem the movie must be gen z. This is perfect.
Please don’t 😂 I’m a genz but I only watch and listen to everything classic 😏
i havent watched the movie in over 15 odd years but when i first heard this, the temp was so spot on i had a flash back of the movie when this epic piece was played and could remember it all in sequence
More like Gen X. Early Gen Z kids probably grew up with the vhs and early dvd sets of the the 90’s and early 2000’s Disney movies. I should know I am one Lol
@@Maryland2same! 😭 I’m 17 and definitely and am aware that this is the correct version
not Gen Z. More like Gen Alpha (2010-present)
Christine Marie Allado !!! Cheers to another Filipino making it to the big stage😍🥰😍🥰
Thank you for posting her name! I was looking for it in the description but it wasn't to be found. Shame on the poster to not post her name.
agreed always good to see all walk of life succeed.
Her approach is too aggresive for me. The meaning of the song has somewhat diminished by the way she sang it, so its a NO for me....
@@felixberdz143 idk why do you even have to copy paste the same comment from the other posts you replied when this one is about being happy seeing others making it in the industry and not about how he/she preferred the song to be interpreted.
@@felixberdz143 I love this version! It's the same as the one in the movie. So it's a YES for me...
Wow she’s a real life Pocahontas princess . This was so beautiful
Why not name the singer? In case you don't know, it's Christine Allado, a filipina-british actress/singer. Thank you!
Because its not really about her, she's the soloist in an orchestral arrangement, why not name the pianist? Or the oboe player? Know what I mean?
Thank you I was curious❤️
@@SugarfreeYTthen why not name the orchestra?
Also all eyes and cameras are on her, and as you said, she's the soloist. If the piano had it's own solo then we'd be asking who the pianist is but that's not the case. She deserves recognition for this.
They deserve recognition too of course but she is the one people will be asking for which is the reality in life
What the fuck about her name?… this is a concert of Disney not the soloist
@@drojeen2580 Did you drink acid? Why so caustic? Get a life!!!!!
Christine Allado has done quite an impressive portfolio in musical theatre like Zipporah in The Prince of Egypt the Musical. She's ever dueted with the great tenor Andrea Bocelli. Keep making waves and make the Filipinos proud.
This comment needs to be pinned! The moment she started singing I scrolled down to find who she is!!! Amazing!!!
I watched her in Prince of Egypt musical. Love her.
Thanks for recognizing her name
ok now i want to watch pocahontas again....a childhood movie for me
😂😂😂😂
YESSUH😊❤
The last part of the performance after she sang was when Pocahontas ran after the ship in the movie, to wave goodbye to John. Always made my heart ache.
She sung like the song made only for her.. Perfectly..
To the people giving negative comments, here’s a line in the song that pertains to you: “You learn things you never knew you never knew!” @2:25
I remember that I used to think that this song was boring when I was a child, and now as an adult is one of my favorites!
Lyrically, such a thoughtful song. For me, "you can own the earth and still, all you'll own is earth until"
Very profound if you are a child I suppose
@@schmidth Good lyric can be-yes, understandable, even to a child. Or a snob "I suppose".
The lyric that gets choked up is, “how high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you’ll never know. And you’ll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon…” 😭 I just love how the lyric comes full circle, not to mention the crescendo from the orchestra into that lyric. So powerful ❤
@@schmidth cope
Aw I love it. For me it’s “and for once, never wonder what they’re worth”. The downfall of humanity, greed
She definitely painted with all the colors of the wind this was beautifully sung
Ten seconds in and my eyes were watering...full on ugly cry when the choir sings towards the end. This is my favorite childhood movie. What an EXCELLENT performance 👏👏
I was searching for a version that sounds EXACT same as the movie and I've found it, gives me chills
Not me sobbing like a child. Such a beautiful and powerfully emotional version, especially with the choir ❤
The DISNEY feeling inside pops up... I cant explain the feeling... BEAUTIFUL ‼️❤️ thank u for sharing me this feeling.....
The original composes are geniuses. They created so many beautiful pieces in the 90s. And the orchestrator/ arranger is so talented with the transitions and key phrases overlapping. This in totality is incredible from a music perspective. Bravo
YES😊❤
You think you own whatever land you land on
The Earth is just a dead thing you can claim
But I know every rock and tree and creature
Has a life, has a spirit, has a name
You think the only people who are people
Are the people who look and think like you
But if you walk the footsteps of a stranger
You'll learn things you never knew you never knew
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or asked the grinning bobcat why he grinned?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest
Come taste the sun-sweet berries of the Earth
Come roll in all the riches all around you
And for once, never wonder what they're worth
The rainstorm and the river are my brothers
The heron and the otter are my friends
And we are all connected to each other
In a circle, in a hoop that never ends
Have you ever heard the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
Or let the eagle tell you where he's been?
Can you sing with all the voices of the mountains?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
Can you paint with all the colors of the wind?
How high does the sycamore grow?
If you cut it down, then you'll never know
And you'll never hear the wolf cry to the blue corn moon
For whether we are white or copper skinned
We need to sing with all the voices of the mountains
We need to paint with all the colors of the wind
You can own the Earth and still
All you'll own is Earth until
You can paint with all the colors of the wind
For those who said she sung too fast, isn’t it exactly the same tempo with the original soundtrack with Judy Kuhn?? 😮
Yes… I think most of those commenters have never seen the scene in the movie thus comes from, just the Credits version on the radio.
It's cause everyone just learned this song from the Tori Kelly cover which is slower lol this video is exactly how it is in the movie
Or the version from venessa wiliams
Correct. People know of the Vanessa Williams version more so…
Yes it is😊
Pocahontas is my fav Disney princess. This was so magical. This movie is so underrated and I thank you for doing this. This gave me goosebumps and made me tear up. Absolutely breathtaking!!!!!
The Disney pocahontas is not the truth to what really happened to her. They made it seem like she had a great love story but it far from it.
First - the film is NOT underrated.
Second - like many Disney films, the story is altered for the Disney magic effect as the real deal is much much MUCH darker!
I love this song, her dress, and her singing so much! ❤
Internet lurkers think tempo was too fast. My my, these performers are in a godd*mn orchestra. Im pretty sure they know their Tempo
The orchestra knew the tempo but she sang it faster than they were playing.
God… The orchestra is amazing! Gives me chills. And the elegance of the whole ensamble, it’s pure perfection!
💥💥💥💥💥👏👏👏👏
Although hard to find good in Life this is an example of True Life as it’s meant to be , enjoy 🎉
lyrically as well
Those horns at the end. Absolutely masterful horn section. They’re soaring above the rest of the orchestra. That oscillating phrase with all the eighths and then into the melody. What good horn writing.
Hey, this is my all-time favorite Disney movie, and I absolutely adore the music. I used to have a cassette tape of Pocahontas and would listen to it all the time, especially the parts with Grandmother Willow. I shared this to my sister. We grew up watching this 🥺 I miss those times 🥺
This song gives me goosebumps EVERY TIME, but with the live orchestra and her voice it's SOOOO moving! This was my favourite Disney cartoon when I was 4/5 (and still one of my 5 absolutely fav) and seeing it now, as a 30 years old, makes me cry for the beauty and the kindness it teaches for the nature and the other human beings. ❤🍂
This is giving me chills, she's so beautiful and nailing this song. It's bringing me back to my childhood well done.
👵🏿
There is nothing wrong with the arrangement and tempo
This is beautiful, I love it
I was pleasantly surprised they followed the tempo from the actual movie sung by Judy Kuhn. Very nice work
This had me absolutely sobbing, it was my favourite Disney movie as a child. The music is so beautiful and powerful, it really overwhelmed me hearing it today ❤️❤️❤️
im on e tough son of a gun, and yet this song is SO DANG POWERFUL and i do love it!
I must have listened to this about 40 or so times, the sound quality is astounding ! Well done to the sound engineer who mic-ed, mixed and recorded this !!!
“You can own the earth and still all you’ll own is earth” is a top tier Disney lyric
This song is about Spirit! Moving and flowing in everything that exists. The One Reality that connects us to all of creation!
Disney always nailed it with their songs. It's always beautiful, wonderful melodies and with words that hit the reality. That's talent and pure creation. I'm happy this song is still played. Sounds the same and feels the same. Thanks, I really enjoyed it 😊
Beautiful!! She definitely encapsulates the spirit of Disneys Pocahontas
Incredible performance, EVERYONE killed it. Good job everyone!!!!
I love how it sounds exactly like how it did in the movie. Sung beautifully just like the movie. I can’t stand when the singing is changed just because the singer wanted to make it sound different. Well, I have news for you singers out there who does this, the reason why we fell in love with the song is not only because of the music itself, but because of how it was sung. Please try to keep this in mind. Thank you. 😊
It would be a sad world if musicians weren't allowed to interpret.
It bring back a lot of memories. Still see Pocahontas walks way and leads John through a colorful journey with this song. Once upon a time, Disney was great.
P/s the only thing missing is “you think I’m an ignorant savage, you ‘ve been to many places, I guess it must be soo… “
That crescendo from the orchestra and high point are flawless 🤯🤯🤯
She did an excellent job. She is explaining to John Smith about our native land and how white man doesn't understand. She really wanted him to see it through her eyes!
I love when artists come together to make beautiful things!
How can she sing this fast and still this good? Beautiful version.
Put the playback speed to normal. ;)
0.75x
This is the movie version!
Gen z complaining. This mirrors the exact tempo from the MOVIE
lmaooo
Agreed❤❤
They’re just a group of fragile, love to hate on every single thing, casuals. 🤦🏻♂️
Her approach is too aggresive for me. The meaning of the song has somewhat diminished by the way she sang it, so its a NO for me....
@@felixberdz143 She literally sang it exactly like the movie
The song has a deep message and I think that came across beautifully. Congratulations to all the orchestra and the singer and let’s not forget the composer and the conductor either! I think they indeed pained with all the colors of the wind!
What an absolutely flawless, perfect performance by all.
This song brought me to tears as a child and still does as an adult. Absolutely beautiful. Nothing beats a live orchestra. 😢
This was my top 3 disney movies growing up, I cry every time I hear this song 😭
It's as if the song were written just for her. Beautiful.
This performance was incredible and this song never grows old! Loved this presentation. What a great way to convince John Smith to embrace inclusivity!
I'm melting. This is so beautiful. One of the most spectacular songs from disney movies
Goosebumps. Shivers. TOO GOOD!!
This was part of the Hollywood in Vienna Gala for Alan Menken back in 2022. Was there, it was truly amazing!
I absolutely love this. THE best composed music piece EVER!! I love how they mixed "if I never knew you " with "colors of the wind", OH to be there live! I cry at the end of the movie everything because of the emotion the music gives and brings the feeling of pain, hope, and love. One word BEAUTIFUL
just incredible!! Christine Marie Allado brought tears to my eyes 💗💗
Thank you for mentioning her name. I saw her video last year. She's amazing! Guess whoever posted this video didn't even bother to research who she is!
Powerful, emotional and plain fantastic! Beautifully and masterfully performed in song with amazing great orchestra!!!! Bravo!!!
I'm actually picturing the scene listening to the music. Perfect tempo, the alacrity in her
fantastic orchestra, pitch perfect
one of the best adult disney film ever made with a true to life theme...hope disney will do another epic movie like this...she did justice..i believe she is a filipina british born singer..
こころに染み渡る歌声、素晴らしい
Can’t even put in words how beautiful this is. Beyond amazing talent.
That was an incredible performance! The orchestra and vocalist gave me goosebumps the whole time!! 😭🩷
What incredible talent, both playing and singing.
this makes me wish I stuck with my violin classes The orchestra and singer were perfect!
Proud Pinoy here. Brings back childhood memories. She looked liked Pocahontas singing in real life too!
I love all of the Disney scores. Nothing but excellence in every note.
Girl's got some pipes on her! Never heard of her before...now, I have!
What an absolutely masterful score. I love that lead-in from “Farewell”….so achingly tender and sorrowful 💗
I love that they played the “Farewell” score
for everyone saying she's singing too fast , the time of the song is how it appeared on the movie. during the scene when she sings this song, she was running with john smith
Her looks..is a typical Filipina blood! The best singers in Asia is definitely from the Philippines! Specially in theatres!
A N O THER MISSPOKE ,,ITS ABOUT THE SONG AND SECONDARILY YES SHE IS BEAUTIFUL
Shes very beautiful
Didn't think anyone could sing it as well as Judy Kuhn, but here we are! Fabulous.
How can such a beautiful woman have such a magnificent voice. She is out of this world.
Perfection. It's the lyrics that hit deep
A beautiful message about unity and connection under a Limitless creator 🌍
Beautiful! Vocals and instruments. At the end of the day, the conductor and symphony will always follow the singer’s lead in vocals. There is no fast or slow. It is magic in the moment.
Love it all but the last 2 mins was a VIBE
One of the most memorable, epic choruses....
ポカホンタス大好きです
音楽もストーリーも素晴らしい
This was exactly what it needed to be powerful. This number painted a mental image when you were younger now being grown up it really hits home
gave me chills, reminds me of my childhood
Owwwe! Filipino...so proud of you Yeheyyyy!...so beautiful!. mabuhay Filipino in U/K!
Magnificent! Beautiful rendition that makes me cry every time I hear it.
Beautiful song and very beautiful performer.
What a great song, and the Vocalist is superb. The orchestra was mesmerizing. ❤❤️❤️❤️👍
Stunning performance! The orchestra, the voice❤❤❤
Beautiful performance, she looks stunning!!!
Interesting to see so many comments in the last month, weeks, days & even hours.. I had a moment yesterday with a few trees, then looked up this song and went down a rabbit hole of chasing sunsets & being with the trees for 4 hours. Many tears, many smiles && time with that little girl I love so much that’s inside me. I’m feeling that many people are evolving & connecting to their child selves, moving through 💕 much love & light to all, see y’all on the top.
Wow wow wow , such a beautiful rendition. I felt like i was brought to the forest to experience Pocahontas' life.
I personally prefer what's around the river bend.... But this takes me all the way back to my childhood and in to the magic that was Disney. ❤
I remembered being in third grade and going on a field trip to watch Pocahontas in theaters… seem so long ago.. 💙
Breathtaking talent and beauty. I mean the singer.
This is an amazingly beautiful version of this song. I absolutely love this!!❤️❤️❤️🎶🎶
Wow the orchestra and choir played the soundtrack beautifully. Very moving performance.
Fall 2024, anyone?
Christine, you enunciated so well & you have a beautiful voice. I really enjoyed you & the orchestra.❤
Absolutely beautifully done by everyone in the production. Loved it ❤
Spectacular performance. Superior talent this singer.
