All the people commenting bad things on here are just jealous. I'm a pianist, believe me, I'm jealous too, but at least I admit it and don't criticize her for it.
First off, this is a very famous piece and has been played by the likes of Rubinstein and countless other front-rank pianists. Since it is very familiar to more than the average classical listener, there is bound to be comparison to the established versions out there. Hers is a very solid academic version but there are variations in speed and attack that are noticeable when compared to the many other versions.
That might be the problem: Why be jealous in the first place? Why not instead be happy for her and look to her as a model for inspiration - instead of making it about yourself and your jealousy? I know one reason people may feel jealous from seeing something like this is because it makes your insecurities, flaws, and short-comings that much more transparent, and forces you to face them. However, the problem is with you - not her; and jealousy is a way of projecting that onto others in a negative way so you can feel better about yourself. As such, you should view her as a paradigm for inspiration and interpret her, not as a threat to you, but as an impetus for improvement and success. You can admire and support people without making it about jealousy and your insecurities.
Such performance requires not only technical perfection in fingers but also the peace of mind combined with the deepest emotional perception of music. Hats off to You, young lady.
I have a electric piano and this is the demo song it plays. I have listened to it since I was a little girl and was obsessed with learning it but haven't had the confidence to try incase I mess it up or make myself feel awful by how bad I play it. This was so beautiful and inspired me to try. Thank you Tiffany ❤️
yep, and the trick is the beauty you hear when tiffany moves from one note to another.. or plays one chord, one arpeggio maybe... if you see what I mean? that beauty can be listened for and felt and reproduced from the very very beginning.... with the very, very simplest tunes, sequences of notes, chords.. i.e it is not a case of practising, learning, for years and years and years before you can 'play' and 'understand'. No. It is a case of make a sound and enjoy it, then explore the making of more..
If you love the piano sound alone... dont worry if you play a bum note.... dont give up and keep it going.. music failures is as beautiful as its wins.... at the end its only your choice... practice and keep going... im learning this... and if I spend 1 year on the first 10 notes im happy..... Do it...
Imagine you're the audience watching this live. Not with earphone, capture with unknown mic and compress by youtube. I believe it will be more more beautiful and warmth. Its a Steinway too.
Ben Hodges Hello. Judging by the sheer size of it, it is more likely a Steinway D, at least I think. It is definitely larger than a B. As for the serial number, that is impossible to know.... I hope it helped.
People always get the timing on this wrong. Even the greats misinterpret this piece. This is my absolute favorite interpretation of my favorite classical piano piece. Technically flawless. So hard to play right and time right and not speed up or slow down or overly dress it up. This is subdued and brilliantly done. Watched this video of Tiffany’s dozens of times.
The first one, yes. It starts out innocent and pure, and then turns intense and all consuming before it settles down to blissful tranquility again. My first girlfriend played this for me once, and I was absolutely floored.
Jallil In 1838 Chopin wintered with Sand and her two children on the island of Majorca. There he wrote pieces that included his celebrated Preludes, Op. 28, and the Nocturnes, Op. 37. Back in Paris they lived next door to each other, and spent the next eight summers in Nohant, her country home in central France, where Chopin composed some of his greatest music. Musical herself, Sand both advised Chopin and inspired him, though he never dedicated a composition to her. The relationship came to a bitter end in 1847 after Chopin sided with Sand’s daughter, Solange, in a quarrel. Devastated, Chopin felt his health quickly deteriorate. They saw each other for the last time 17 months before Chopin’s death-a chance encounter that Sand described in her autobiography: “I pressed his trembling and icy hand. I wished to speak to him, he slipped away.”
This is beautiful. One of the most difficult musically. And poignant. Thinking of how young Chopin was when he passed away. The music lives on in the hands of the master here.
Oh my god. Tiffany, ive been following you forever but something about this performance. You literally bring chills to my skin and almost move a grown man to tears. This is beautiful.
Very delicate and gentle. Expresses a restlessness and a longing for something lost as does Chopin's other piano works, especially his Etudes, Op 10. Thank you for such a wonderful performance.
She is just so beautiful in her music her talent her appearance the total embodiment of perfection. Everytime I hear her play it stirs my soul. She makes the piano cry and seconds later brings it alive. She is a master. Yes I am a fan
I remember 70 years ago, when our house would fill with the day’s tensions, my mother would pause, walk into the living room, sit at the piano, and play this. It’s amazing how this would calm all our nerves and bring peace back into our home. It still does. Beautifully performed.
Tiffany I love the way you play this here. I listen to it several times a week. It lifts my spirits. I can't help wondering what Chopin would have thought had he heard you play this on this piano, played perfectly on a piano with a way more beautiful tone that the pianos of his time.
