I’m a lifelong guitar player who took up the baritone uke last fall. You’re right about the limits of the 4-string uke compared with the 6-string classical guitar. On the other hand, I’ve never heard criticism of the violin as being limited on the bass end compared with the viola or cello.

Thanks Mr. Vic for your helpful comparison video and the lovely singing 🎶 💜. I just started on the guitar.. And, now I'm also going to get a baritone Ukulele for the night playing on the couch 🛋 😀👍

You can do walk ups and downs on the D and G string, it will just sound a little less bassy, I'll play a baritone over a guitar anywhere anytime

I love to play worship on my baritone.
I play a walk Up bass when I play " more love more power". There are substitutions for the walk ups and downs, be creative

If you like the tenor uke, try playing a tenor guitalele ( the Yamaha G-L-1) then you have a ukulele to practice your walk downs

I love fingerpicking old gospel songs on my new baritone ukulele to worship. I would however loved to learn the guitar. I'm just very intimidated by those six strings. Do you think baritone is a good instrument for beginning training toward the guitar?

I love my concert ukulele, but I still love the full sound of the guitar. You get the guitar range on the baritone ukulele, but miss the fullness you get from the guitar.

Is the slotted tuner baritone in the picture a KALA? It sure sounds sweet.

I enjoyed this comparison. The difference is apparent but hard to describe. The guitar rings out louder and sustains longer but the tone is similar. Is your baritone tuned to GCEA? If you said it in the video I apologize. Doug

It is tuned DGBE- standard baritone tuning.

Is the classical guitar basically a six string tenor uke but bigger body? Kind of like guitar with fifth fret caped sound? I have a Taylor Gs mini which the sound I absolutely love but I’m really a beginner. I seem to progress more easily on my baritone. Would you chose this tenor over a smaller guitar? Or would you consider a guitarlele? I have a tenor size one, Ohana brand. It’s fun. It’s sound is just not what I hoped it’d be.

Uke and guitar are different. I would suggest the baritone uke as it is tuned like the four bottom strings of a guitar. A good place to start.

Get a baritone guitalele and you'll be able to do walk down with a Uke feel
