He has serious addiction. Some people respond that way and some don't. He was one that once he put drugs in his system, it was simply done. Obsessing of the mind and allergy of the body. He's a good guy and had gotten clean. You can see he's humble and has a good heart
Ive attended close to 1000 MLB games in my time. Many times sitting directly behind the plate. I will say this....the most frightening , dominating pitchers I ever saw , from that viewpoint , were Nolan Ryan and Doc Gooden. Period. What couldve been with Doc.
U didn't mention how doc missed the 1986 Mets World series victory parade because he was getting high at his dealers house while watching the parade on TV
He was truly un-hitable at his peak. The best I’ve ever seen in my lifetime…..very few had the stuff he had. He and strawberry just couldn’t stay off the shit. What coulda been……..damn it Btw this video was haphazard…… pics don’t match years.
Thankfully George Stienbrenner set up a retirement plan for him or he would really ve in bad shape - George loved Dwight Gooden - He also recognized Dwight had major issues and it was unlikely change as he got older - Instead of cutting ties with him, George wanted Dwight to be able to have a home to live in - Darryl Strawberry was also part of this -
Sorry not a good guy punching women in the face and assaulting cops. I understand he has a drug addiction, but that doesn’t take away his horrible behavior.
Drugs ruined him
At his peak,Doc couldn't be touched...
Yeah doc could not be touched ,only by himself

I caught in the bullpen through Texas and Arizona…Randy Johnson hurt, not Nolan

Doc was lights out but couldn’t control his demons ⚾️

U didn't mention how doc missed the 1986 Mets World series victory parade because he was getting high at his dealers house while watching the parade on TV
Mispronunciation of Orel Hershiser is crazy
At his peak, this is the greatest pitcher I’ve ever seen
You obviously haven't seen too many great Pitchers then😑
Definitely nasty, but I'd take prime Pedro.
