This car is so amazing for a sport classic car. My dad has bought 1 in a bit good condition, so he fixed all of the parts and cleans it. It looks amazing.
My dad own 87 560sel wide fenders special edition sand brown and a Brazilian brown interior featured with a lot of things such as the computer tech on the right side of the instrument cluster instead of the rpm and the clock which it's on the left side with the oil pressure and gas, and a rear controllable separate heated flatable and inflatable seats using a buttons console in the center between the seats and a lot of other stuff.. Whenever I drove it I felt like a king.. Really this car is featured with a head of time technology back in the days.
@@brandonburkest6229 can't disagree there, one of the quickest cars of its time and gave Ferrari and Lamborghini flagships a run for their money. But the mercedes is still faster but is well engineered and the interior is, well an s class. I've had my 560sel up to 145mph and the faster you go, the more stable and "hunkered down" it gets. Magnificent machine and mine is a hotrodded USA spec car with lower compression and emissions crap. This car in the video is a full euro 822 package car, knock sensors, high compression, no emissions stuff and 300hp and 345 ft lbs of torque. That's why even at 4100 pounds it hauls ass
@@12pagani Yeah. The Mercedes is still an amazing car without a doubt. Amazing sounding engine. Great performance. Nothing more you could ask for on a car.
@@brandonburkest6229 I'm currently rebuilding my 560sel as it got rear ended hard. I'm debating on trying to sneak in the high compression pistons from the euro 822 version but emissions here would be difficult. I have the tri y headers from an 822 car on mine and it's a 30hp bump even with lower compression!
Not bad for the year model! I bet if it wasn’t so heavy this car would fly! Sounds really good. I’m sure a good tune and a few bolt ons would wake it up
Possible, but I think it's because the fuel is shifting in the tank because of the acceleration. Let it sit still for a minute and it will get up again. I have seen cars sipping almost a litre per km. But those are huge v8s with 1000HP+
Cars of the 80’s, especially big V8 engines weren’t the most fuel efficient. However, fuel was relatively cheaper than it is right now, so who people, especially the ones that can afford these cars didn’t really care. I’m assuming the average fuel mileage of these was around 18 litres per 100km in average driving.
This certainly does not sound like the the original engine. I did own a 1988 560 SEC for 5 years and I did test drive half a dosen before I bought it. Maybe some tuning has been performed on this car.
Frenklin Meta I'm not sure what you mean but the MB 560SEC was equiped with a 5,6 litre V8 in original (it varies a bit in power from year to year and from what country it was sold). In gact, all W126C (380SEC, 420SEC, 500SEC and 560SEC) had V8's from factory (but with different volume and power). The thing with this specific car in the video is that this V8 does not sound like the original V8 engine I had in my 560SEC or anyone of the other 5 maybe 6 other 560SEC I tested before I bought the one I fell in love with. This engine sounds a bit "sharper" in its "song" and that is usually a sign of a more powerful engine. From this I draw the conclusion that the car in the video must have been modded in some way. A newer and more powerful engine? Upgraded exhaust system? Tuned engine? And yes, I did
A little bit but remember the w126 is a full S class with the single cam m117 engine with (this euro ece version) 298hp. The 500e is a newer and lighter w124 chassis and has the DOHC m119 engine with easily 45 more hp and less weight. But this ece 560 is moving quite brisk. My 560sel has the euro upgrades but is about 20hp shy of the full ece European spec. Mine hauls butt yet is more sluggish vs the car in the video
Que extraño? Nivel de gasolina no baja, mi mercedez sobre los 200 el nivel de gasolina comienza a bajar lento pero se nota que baja, ese estanque de gasolina es de 100 litros, pero este nivel aqui no baja, para mi video falso.
Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the Green Peoples Party gave order to shorten fuel supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only one state operated central gas station per city or county. From 2027 on in the EU certain car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here, called emissions and smoke crime.

Lovely sounding engine and for a car of its age, it really moves. 0-100 in about 6 to 6.5sec, 0-160 in about 15sec, 0-200 in about 26sec

Is this the 300hp version (without catalytic converters)?
Should have reached 50,000km when travelling at 250km/h. That would have been cool!
What’s wrong with the tachometer ?
It ran 1 million 49 thousand and some kilometres??
Wow 7.6 sec for a boat
ماشالله
ماشاء الله على ايش مفجوره
If you skip between the beginning and end you can see the fuel guage move a substantial amount 😅
Nope, didn't move at all.
What does the redline between 50-60kmh signify? Anyone?
That‘s just an orientation for maximum speed in the city (50 km/h). Most older Mercedes have this, some also at 30 km/h.
عجيب
this is the ruf version which is produce by 2 years witout one catalyst
why the temperature is decreasing?
stock exhaust ?
I bet I saw that fuel gauge move 😂
❤❤❤❤❤
stolen where?
Acceleration starts at 00:08 and 100 kph is reached at 00:16. So 8 seconds 0-60mph on a 5.6 V8. What is this, the maiaise era?
It's more about refined power than performance. Quick, but there were faster cars back then.

perhaps less acceleration, and more refilling the windscreen washer fluid.
Less weight, it holds a gallon of water alone. But these cars when in good tune do absolutely fly, even my USA spec 560 with euro exhaust effing flys
