@@crusader333ad Yep, they'll be writing of this time in history books with the likes of the Arian Crisis, Pornocracy, and Renaissance/Reformation (revolt).....The Modernist Crisis. And just like after every crisis there is a true restoration and renewal of the Church, it will happen, likewise, this time too. I am sure of it! And I believe we're already starting to see the beginnings of this renewal..The Renewal of Tradition, or something to that effect, is what I would name it. Not to think on it to much or anything. 😉 +++

The Latin mass in particular cannot be changed. It was a big part of the council of Trent was to unify the Roman rite on one mass and they used a 4th or 5th century example of a Latin mass as a model for the tridentine mass. It was said at that council that if even the word "ut" was changed it would be invalid. Although it also validates any non blasphemous tradition over 200 years old. It wasn't in the spirit of excluding other Christians but in the spirit of keeping the Roman rite from being subject to new inventions and grounding it in history. Paul vi seems to have gotten around this by simply not changing the mass, but writing a different one entirely.

The Pope has the ultimate authority to preserve and *make necessary changes FOR the preservation of the mass*.
The Latin Mass is a traditional mass, but is not the earliest or most significant kind of mass. The Pope has the authority to limit or change the mass for the preservation of the mass itself. He has this authority.

This was very good. Just saw a debate with Catholic apologist and Protestant. It was in Mariology , which is , I think. Harder to make the most convincing case based on Scripture alone , even though it is still supported and not debunked . But it left things more open to argument .
But apologists are ALWAUS capitulating to Protestants and make the debate only based on Scriptjre . This gives a DISTORTED impression that the Protrsta nt arguments were compatible y stronger than they would be of other info could be discussed I get that they wa nt to define boundaries, but they ALWAYS argue or debate on the false made up Protestant paradigm of Sola Scriptur . Thank you all! I pray every single night in bed before sleeping. My mind is ALLLLL over the place. It's exactly like a screaming child with adhd , only my distractional thoughts can be extremely dark and disturbing but I just ignore them the best I can , ask forgiveness for them and continue on, I always start with thankfulness for all days I've been given , then onto all that I have been blessed with despite my unworthiness to have any of it.
I found that God's patience is .... well, unbelievable, really. Undeserved patience and mercy are the only reasons I have anything.
Then I move on to apologizing and asking for forgiveness for all the things I do , think and say that's against him , I do not want to be how I am , but I've been very unsuccessful in actually changing it.
      Idk.
God bless all of you ! Keep up the great work; there's an entire world out there that needs you now more than it ever has before.

My sentiments too. I'm a bit of a maverick while at Mass . When the priest pronounces the words of consecration & raises Jesus , i say out loud "my Lord and my God" . If anyone receives
communion while secretly not believing in the true presence , they do themselves spiritual harm , to the same degree blessing and stregnth could have been imparted if they were in a state of grace. I'm a weak and inconsistent sinner , but i know correct fundamentals of our faith.

Back in 2020, when the churches closed our bishop allowed the churches to remain open so people could pray. Our then priest would celebrate the Mass early for himself, while locking the doors , then open them for the parishioners. My now 95 year old cousin complained why priest could celebrate but we couldn't be there. You know " the squeaky wheel gets the attention "and he opened up for the people but you had to stay so many feet apart . Another thing this same young cousin, in 2020 got me to return to reciting the Rosary and other prayers. God bless her!!

What Father is describing is a mental cognitive dissonance that prevails since Vatican II. This is because people don’t believe in growing in holiness as a duty, and they take the Sacraments for granted.

The more I listen to Taylor Marshall talk about the Novus Ordo vs Tridentine mass, the more I become convinced that there's nothing wrong with the Novus Ordo, the issues are probably only found in the US. In my country Novus Ordo masses have all the characteristics they mention are fundamental to a valid liturgical rite.

I miss the Latin Mass in my area. My diocese has a bishop who undermines faith and has made his own changes to the mass.
Instead of kneeling back at our pew after communion and prayerfully thanking Him, the bishop has told us that we are to stand and it represents standing in communion with the people who are still standing in line to receive the host.
Luckily we have one retired priest who is still around and has instructed us that this is wrong and we are to kneel. We are there for God, not the people.
About half the people listen to the bishop, and half listen to the retired priest. I kneel.

Update on this situation. The bishop ordered the retired priest to vacate our church rectory. This priest, in his 80s, had 48 hours to move into a Catholic retirement home and he is not allowed to celebrate Mass or hear confessions at our parish anymore. This is beyond cruel to both our good priest and the parishioners who love him so very much.

I hope this leads to a greater discussion among the experts and a wider knowledge of it among the laity. St. John himself in his gospel says there were many other things Our Lord taught that are not contained in Scripture.

This was fabulous!!! Listening to Fr. Ripperger's discussion negates every single argument given for simplifying our worship spaces and changing them into something more modern and banal as popularized from the time of Vatican II forward to today. In Michael S. Rose's book, Ugly As Sin, he outlines the elements of our original houses of G_d and how their exteriors and interiors lead us to the Sacraments. He compares these holy spaces to the abominations that are now our modern churches and how these fail, from the moment one walks through the doors, to evangelize and draw parishioners to the Sacrifice of the Mass. If taken seriously, Fr. Ripperger's explanation demands that we return to Catholic architecture!

Great show Taylor. I always love listening to Fr. Ripperger. He speaks with clarity and precision and actually explains the reasoning. Taylor, I know that we’ve talked about how the N.O came about and everything concerning it but I would really like you to touch on why all seven sacraments were revised. Were they somewhere lacking in its effect sand thus a revision was necessary? Why would Paul VI feel the need to do this? When you compare the old rite sacraments to the new rite, the new rite is clearly diminished in its prayers. Mainly, why would Paul VI touch the prayers of ordination and consecration? Did he not have any fear of touching something so sacred and not see the possibility that this could cause a point of division as we now see with the sedevacantists and some ex-SSPX priests denying the validity of new rite priests and bishops.

Hate to quote "the road to hell is lined with the skulls of many priests, bishops, cardinals and popes," a sad reflection on our present crisis. From the Cure d Ars, and Bishop Strickland. I'm sure each was judged according to his acts to save souls- the prime directive of the Church. Much prayer is needed for our clerics, much responsibility is on them.

I remember when priests said prayers as they dressed for mass. Every article of dress for the Latin mass had its own prayer around repentance, exorcism, protection and petition in preparation for the prayers at the foot of the alter on behalf of the congregation before stepping up to the alter.
It certainly gave the priest time to prepare himself spiritually, energetically and mentally to offer the sacrifice of the Mass. Likewise the congregation... today this is all lost and forgotten with resulting loss of reverence and belief

When Pope Francis declared his reasoning for seeking to ban the Latin Mass by saying its a different theology to the N.O (New Mass, mainstream Catholic Masses of today), but in doing so his addmitted that the new Mass is a different theology to the Mass of all Ages. Consider which Mass most saints were attending?? It wasnt the easily changeable nor in the common venacular but traditional latin prayer language. Followed an order without need for modifctions or performance just pure worship.
