When Father talked about men loving our lady I remembers the beautiful day almost 40 years ago when my brother (big manly man) got married and the first thing he did after he was pronounced a husband was to go over to the statue of Our Lady in the church and kneel for a moment holding his new wife's hand as she knelt next to him, stand, place flowers on the altar and then walk out of the church. He still to this day loves Our Lady and shows her by kneeling at her altar every Sunday before Mass and dedicating his week to her Immaculate Heart.

My mother taught us always to offer up our suffering...ie the sacrifice being asked of us...united to the holy sacrifice of the mass in reperation for our sins and for holy souls ..Growing up in the 70's..no one I knew outside our household ever spoke that way. It was one of the best Catholic lessons of my life.

Our Lady is, definitely, the cause of any shabby love I have for God. In the scariest and pivotal point, in my life, it was not God I called upon, but Our Lady. It was, without any doubt, her intercession, her, showing up for me in my need, that saved me, literally, during a quite nearly perfect Suicide attempt. Dramatic, I know, but there we are...🙏

@@lakotafire2804 me too. My life has been a full one..always a little bittersweet, but besides the obvious spiritual blessings I’ve gotten to enjoy a beautiful daughter, friends I would trust with my life (no pun intended), and I’ve gotten to see much of the world and it’s cultures, archaeology, and the like. Our Lady provided, for me, ways I’m which to love god, grow in love, and spend my life with both suffering and joy hand in hand; without caving in to just suffering and despair. 🙏❤️

Fr.Ripperger love your sermons. The most beautiful people are the ones who are the closest to God. They radiant the love of God. You can see there glow in there skin, honesty in there eyes and joy in there smile because they know who they are and they reflect God's love. They are the simple, humble heart. Which is why Mary would be the most beautiful of all. She is full of grace and said Yes let your will be done. We would be nothing without Mary with her total trust in God's plans for her children. Also as a mother myself...I couldn't even imagine the suffering she went through seeing Jesus be humiliated in the worst death of her son that she loved so much right in front of her...ultimate sacrifice. This is why she is Queen of heaven 💙

Thank you Father Ripperger, may God bless you abundantly in His Love and Grace 🙏
    Supplication To The Immaculata
Queen of the most Holy Rosary, Help of Christians, refuge of the human race, victorious in all the battles of God, we prostrate ourselves in supplication before Thy Throne, in the sure hope of obtaining mercy and of receiving grace and timely aid in our present calamities, not through any merits of our own on which we do not rely, but only through the Immense Goodness of Thy Mother’s Heart. In Thee and in Thy Immaculate Heart, at this grave hour of human history, do we put our trust; to Thee we consecrate ourselves, not only with all of Holy Church, which is the Mystical Body of Thy Son Jesus, and which is suffering in so many of her members, being subjected to manifold tribulations and persecutions, but also with the whole world, torn by discords, agitated with hatred, the victim of its own iniquities.
Be Thou moved by the sight of such material and moral degradation, such sorrows, such anguish, so many tormented souls in danger of eternal loss! Do Thou, O Mother of Mercy, obtain for us from God a Christ-like reconciliation of the nations, as well as those Graces which can convert the souls of men in an instant, those Graces which prepare the way and make certain the long desired coming of peace on earth. O Queen of Peace, pray for us, and grant peace unto the world in the Truth, the Justice, and the Charity of Christ. Above all, give us Peace in our hearts, so that the Kingdom of God may spread its borders in the tranquillity of order. Accord Thy protection to unbelievers and to all those who lie within the shadow of death; cause the Sun of Truth to rise upon them; may they be enabled to join with us in repeating before the Savior of the world:
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men of good will.”
Give Peace to the nations that are separated from us by error or discord, and in a special manner to those peoples who profess a singular devotion toward Thee; bring them back to Christ’s One Fold, under the One True Shepherd. Obtain full freedom for The Holy Church of God; defend her from her enemies; check the ever-increasing torrent of immorality; arouse in the faithful a love of Purity, a practical Christian Life, and an Apostolic Zeal, so that the multitude of those who serve God may increase in merit and in number. Ask Thy Son to send us Holy Priests and in numbers to serve the needs of the Catholic faithful. Be Thou the Mother of Priests and Seminarians, keeping them Pure, devoted to Thee and Thy Son, maintain them as men set apart and exclusive for serving the Holy Trinity and Thee. Do not let the torrents of worldly woes touch them. And give us a more tender Love for Thy Immaculate Heart so that we may draw closer to Thee and to them by praying for them faithfully.
O Mary, Mother Most Pure, through whose compassion we have received the Holiest of Priests; O Glorious Patriarch, St. Joseph, perfect model of cooperation with the Divine Call; O Holy Priests, who in Heaven compose a Choice Choir about the Lamb of God.
Obtain for us many good Vocations in order that the Lord’s Flock, through the support and government of Vigilant Shepherds, may attain You the enjoyment of the most Delightful Pastures of Eternal Happiness.
Finally, even as the Church and all mankind were once consecrated to the Heart of Thy Son Jesus, because He was for all those who put their hope in Him an Inexhaustible Source of Victory and Salvation, so in like manner do we consecrate ourselves forever to Thee also and to Thy Immaculate Heart, O Mother of us and Queen of the World, may Thy Love and Patronage hasten the day when the Kingdom of God shall be Victorious and all the Nations, at Peace with God and with One another, shall call Thee Blessed and Intone with Thee, from the Rising of the Sun to its going Down, the Everlasting “Magnificat” of Glory, of Love, of Gratitude to the Heart of Jesus, in which alone we can find Truth, Life, and Peace.
    Amen

I am someone who has long suffered from things like depression, and it taught me to be self centered in my sufferings. And this would make my suffering worse, because I was so fixated on myself and my state. When I first heard father ripperger mention “offer it up”, I was filled with hope. I had previously thought I tried everything. Even medication and therapy didn’t completely relieve me. But when I started practicing this, accepting the suffering and giving that to God and to ask that I could use it to shoulder a bit of the burden of the souls in Purgatory, and asking those souls to help me suffer more perfectly, I found that first, it was more bearable. Then, I found that less things actually caused me suffering because I was less focused on myself. Finally, when I do suffer, the length of time I do so is much less. I think it’s because I only suffer as long as God seems necessary. Whereas in the past, I would prolong it for my own sake. To convince myself almost that life is as bad as I think and give myself permission to act accordingly. And to make myself believe I was deserving of all this grace from others, to become more blameless for my faults. But now I feel all the control that I actually have. Praise be to God.

Thanks again to Fr R for a great talk.
I am very grateful to Father for mentioning that God does not forget our sins once we confess them - this has been bandied about in the last few decades and does not make sense at all. While God forgives and keeps us from damnation through confession, that is not the same as 'forgetting'. Reparation for sins must still be made by us until we die. [Like Mary Magdalene was forgiven, as said by Jesus Himself in Scripture, she still did severe penance living in a cave in France until she died. She was forgiven, but she also knew she needed to make reparation for her sins. ]
God cannot change, cannot forget, as Father said.
The Last Judgement where all sins are revealed and the results over time, people, and society will be revealed. If God forgot confessed sins, The Last Judgement would not occur.
We are not to worry that we are not forgiven, but that is not the same as "God forgets".
This whole problem has created an environment in the Church where we are not encouraged to make General Confessions [once regularly advised, especially before receiving a major sacrament, like marriage]. We are no longer encouraged to mention old confessed sins in confession - whereas confessing sins, whether confessed before or not, gets us the grace to overcome the sin we confess AND makes additional reparation for sins. Ignorant priests malformed in seminaries, accuse penitents of being scrupulous instead of allowing penitents to make additional reparation or help examine the conscience. And there may be a bit of laziness there - an anxious penitent may sense "something is wrong" and instead of helping a penitent, priests will squash efforts to mention confessed sins nor try to discover root causes of a problem. [scrupulosity is a real thing sure, but with the current environment of 'don't worry about old sins" much work is avoided].
Padre Pio and the Cure d'Ars would accuse penitents of forgotten sins. So additionally, making a thorough examinations of conscience, going back into one's youth, is valuable. Confessing sins reduces our risk of damnation and long times in Purgatory, or denies being able to make real reparation such as apologies or restoration to those we sinned against. [In the old Office a prayer is repeated "from my secret ones cleanse me"].
Father touched upon a pervasive problem that keeps people from taking the Sacrament of Confession seriously and using it to much better advantage.

Thank you for posting Father’s Ripperger’s lectures. However I wish you would consider not posting the commercials throughout his lectures. It is very disruptive & disturbs the flow of the powerful & complex content he’s teaching us. It’s hard to have to go back and pick up his previous points before the infomercials interrupts his train of thought and in the process the listener’s train of thought as well. Thank you for your consideration. 😇
