Great video & instructions. I purchased the bmw special 14 mm wobble socket which made job easy.
Took me less than 20 minutes to complete.
Note to others, clean out plug chamber of little amount of scale/rust with vacuum, I taped a 8” piece of 3/8 brake line to vac hose and vacuumed chamber after removing plug.

    Great video, congratulations.
I live in Brazil and here the maintenance of BMW is very expensive, through its videos I am already changing oil, filters and today I changed the smart plugs of my F30. Thank you very much for the great content.

Thanks, i found the 4th plug easier than expected. Note: before you pull your engine cover off, check if you have the 2 vacuum hoses by the oil cap first. Pinch and disconnect them first

Great instructions as always, just putting this out there since I had trouble with the 4th plug in the back, it was really torqued in or rusted in or something. I ended up taking the plastic cover above the plug (on seven 10mm bolts) and had to remove a bit of a rubber seal and cable that was in the seal. After doing this you have a clear shot at the 4th spark plug. It added an extra 10 mins maybe. Nonetheless, this is a nice and easy process. I used NGK plugs and reused the coil packs, working great, no codes or messages.

Great super helpful video, thanks. I just completed the work on my 2014 328iX-Drive, ultimately went great. My only self-induced glitch involved not fully seating the wire connection to one of the coil-packs (which I also replaced with the plugs) and getting a "Drive Train Malfunction warning upon starting." I went back and double checked plug torques and connections (at which time I noted the one coil back connection just slightly off}; corrected it, warning cleared and it now rides great.

Thanks for the step to step video. One question about the spark gap : Both BMS and PTF share the experience for the spark gap to be 0.022~0.023" to achieve the best performance while this video is telling 0.032" ( Gap - Factory Preset: 0.7 mm = 0.028 in). Would you please share your opinion about what gap to go for stock / tuned N20 engine ?

Hey, Kies MS, love your videos. Have a 4 series that I do all the work on and I always pick your videos to learn whatever I need to fix. Thank you for your videos, I really appreciate them.
Today I changed my spark plugs and followed all the instructions in the video, but I didn't see you mention how to reset the faulty codes afterwards. Was there not supposed to be a reset process after you change the plugs? Because when I first started it up after I inserted the plugs, it gave me a check engine light and a message came up on the idrive that there was a faulty plug. I turned the car off, plugged in a scanner and it said cylinder 4 was misfiring. I checked the coil packs again to see if they were plugged in correctly, and they were. So I reset the code with the scanner and everything was fine. Drove it 10 Miles and no light ever showed back up. Is this normal? I have a 2014 428i F32

I have three different 14mm Snap-On sockets and none of them will go over the NGK 97506 plugs - like the base of the plug is 11 or 12 sided and a standard 6 sided socket won’t fit. Anyone else run into that? I hate to have to buy another 14mm socket just for this job.

While BMW currently uses a conditions based indicator in the F30 which will vary, I believe a reasonable rule of thumb based on the prior generation cars is 45k miles for turbo engines and 100k for naturally aspirated.

Are you for real? Theses plugs fit multiple vehicles with different gaps even those these are oem replacements you always check gaps! Let me give you the best piece of advice you will probably ever get!! DiY videos are not guidelines for everyone to follow so they can save a dollar. I had a lady once try and save money screwed up the job had parts upside down and used silicone cause it leaked where there should of been a compression fitting cost her the parts she damaged plus my labor to fix! Point is if your not mechanically inclined its obvious your not dont attempt doing work on your luxury car to save a dollar cause what's going to happen your going to do some serious damage then you will take it to dealer under warranty and you will be SOL. Or a garage and that $400 you saved will now cost you $4000!! It's not worth it!! Also there is a reason you dont get responses asking questions like this. I watch this video cause never changed on this car just wanted to see if there was and tips or tricks. Theses videos are not training videos for the weekend warriors to get trained on a new trade!! Sorry to be so blunt but damm come on people it would be like me watching a video on a open heart surgery then commenting I tried it on my mother just like you did but she died I couldn't find the left ventricle thingy so I just put a piece of rubber tubing in there I thing that was my problem!
