Cadwell Park Crashes/Highlights, BARC, 16/4/23

- Featuring THAT crash for John Mickel! One of the biggest we've seen in a very long time, about 13 or so rolls, but thankfully we understand John is out of hospital and will be ok. The day was dominated by red flags and ambulances being needed, although I couldn't see most of them due to parked cars and heads in the way as usual. At one point we ran well over an hour behind and only just caught up by days end, but a lot of people very lucky to not end up worse off after this. And as we said in the last video, Legends at Cadwell? Is that the smartest idea?

Fucking hell, that John Mickel crash was a big one. But between that, the other ones here and the MX-5 one at Brands, lucky nobody is in a real bad way after last weekend

So Legends won't go to Mallory Park but will go to Cadwell and expect shit like this not to happen? Lol what are they smoking! Glad to hear the lad was alright, but with all the pushing going on down park straight in the last vid, you could see this coming a mile off!
Last I heard they don't go cos they don't do weekend meets (which they do). Either way I have to agree with it not being the best combo. Nothing against either series or track, but there are far more appropriate places they should be running
Some of the reasons for not racing there are comedy gold mate. Yet you see a weekend full of championships here that claim Mallory is too narrow, has a crap paddock, full of crashes as stated in Autosport, then you see a weekend like this lol! But hey we've all spoken about this before numerous times 🤷♂
That was an enormous accident! Glad to hear jon was alright. The car was just a pile of scrap at the end!

Everyone recovered from what I know, even the John Mickel was back mere months later.
Cadwell is just a giant Scalextric track isn't it.
The results of coming off tend to be a little more severe than a busted mirror and the cack from under the table needing cleared off the pick ups though

Cadwell is a great track for cars. There used to be a 22 car grid limit, which was good in the old ff days of 2 heats and a final.
Would be the perfect track for Formula e. e wouldn't even think about going there, though, too much of a challenge.
That was close by me
I was there with family that day and we were parked up between Gooseneck and Mansfield(Our Audi at 5:17) so we saw that Mini crash up close. 😳
We also saw part of that big Legends crash from where we were too, it did get somewhat worrying when the car was covered up, but it’s good to hear the driver is alright. 👍
Is anyone actually filming the legends this year for their own programme?
Digitex I think. Thought Hayfisher would be there for Caterham Academy too but they weren't 🤷♂️

Let's be honest. Cadwell is a bike track, NOT a car track.
Doesn't stop clubs and championships flocking there and snubbing far more appropriate venues though🤷♂️
Fun track to drive on though.
It is a great car track, I have raced there dozens of times, and loved every moment.

Cadwell is an awesome place and been going there since the mid 80’s , competing, spannering and spectating . I always look at it as my home track . ❤
Was rather shocked to see they let the leaky 2CV’s out with the kart guys . My only experience of these 2 CV nails was at Croft several years ago, engines all over , crappy preparation just above banger car levels , an embarrassment to the sport if nothing’s changed.
Not right on the karting guys and I know a decent guy who races there too .
