- The Shuttleworth and Nuffield Trophies VSCC race meeting at Cadwell Park, Saturday 11th June 2011.
(c) 2011 by Piers Cooper
Shot entirely on a Canon 550d using internal Mic.
Lenses:
Sigma Hyperzoom 20-200mm F3.5-5.6 Macro
Sigma 18-50mm F2.8-4.5 DC OS HSM
Apologies if the time-line appears a little skewed, I had edited to try to tell a story rather than just straight facts. The camera work in places is rather ropey and in my defence I'd had the camera only three days at the time of shooting. I would also point out that the coding for TH-cam seems to make things rather jerky at times - it's dead smooth on the original footage.
Results can be found at: www.vscc.co.uk/... by clicking on the flag by the race meeting date.
If anyone objects to being included in this film please contact me directly (not via comments) and I am happy to edit you out. Please give as much detail as possible to help me do so.
I hope you have all enjoyed this short film. Please feel free to comment.
Kind regards,
Piers Cooper
8:06 is GN 'Thunderbug'. 1:18 is an Austin Seven. If you look in the description I've put a link to the results - you can find entries and more info on the cars there and by Googling them. Thanks for watching.
@piersmonkey I was in four or five shots and particularly liked being able to hear my car going past. Obviously I've never seen me driving it, it's a lot more exciting driving I can assure you, it feels a lot faster than it looks. I put a link for your video on the VSCC forum. Looks like you've had a lot of hits since, nice job.....regards Julian
top film thanks for the short bit of film at the Longstone tyres stand. i had a brilliant day that day
What looked like perhaps more than one MG TC racing there brings back a lot of nostalgia for me. Thanks.
wonderful video - thanks :)
just off to the 2013 VSCC Prescott mtg - your vid has got me in the mood!!!
can't believe how fast prewar racecars went!!! cornering and brakes apart, they go just as fast as the 50's machines i enjoyed the video very much !
fantastic , really nailed the joy of the place :D
@molinobeer There are two, both GN Specials. I think the one you're referring to is the Wasp. The other is Thunderbug!
Thanks!
It looks fun as hell over there!!!!! I'd love to hang out with you guys!!!! :)
Wonderful video. Question: What is car no. 88 @9:03 ?
BlueStreaxxx Really sorry, it’s been 9 years and I cannot find the programme not any published results online. I think it could be a GN Fraser Nash of some sort but don’t hold me to that.
Brilliant video...and so quickly put together...I was car 43 by the way.
Even though I hate using the "americanism", your car sounds Awesome! What car is it?
What is the name of the yellow striped car?
very nicely made video! thanks for sharing
What engine is in that #26 car at 8:06? It seems to be barely over 3000 rpm and it's going fast as hell.
It's Thunderbug. The engine is a V twin and has Riley crankcases and cylinders from a Salmson 9 cylinder radial engine. It's 4.2 litres and revs to 1,800 rpm max
At the :23 second mark, what car is that?
+MrGtownjake I think it's a Cooper of some sort. It has Cooper 500 wheels.
Question:where is Cadwell Park?
It's just North of Horncastle in Lincolnshire.
Thank you for allowing us to feast our eyes and our imaginations on these wonderful cars of yesteryear.Seldom have I ever seen such a collection of such machines in one clip.Once more, thank you!
Thanks!
my dear friend Mark Walker who owns the Thunderbug is a great man.
