I can definately see your "Dogfights are dead, airframes still matters" perspective and it's pretty fair given the way you put it. Jets now doesn't need the instantaneous turn to do 1-2 circle fights, but rather to go on defensive and notch in time.
I'm a frequent user of the game's official forums, i've seen the community's reaction to the orbital IRCCM meta that brought "Sons of Attila" and especially "Air Superiority", and every single time that i mentioned dogfights were going to be pretty much extinct and flight models were going to be a 2nd order characteristic with ARHs, i got backlashed by mostly soviet/Russian mains as they consider BFMs the most important thing. And look i can respect that philosophy up to current 11.0, but onwards avionics start to matter, like a lot. PDV/PD/HDN modes are a gamechanger in relation to medium range engagements, and that already creates a gap which a decent airframe such as the MiG-21SMT cannot squeeze through even with an ace behind the keyboard.
In the end, ARH missiles were a letter from gaijin announcing the death of top tier dogfighting as a key aspect. In my humble opinion is not something terrible as people that tend to like dogfights love the cinematic aspect of it, but i already got burnt out from that, and over time i think they're overglorified in high ranks, mostly because of content from other simulators like DCS.
