- Stephanie Rivera of Las Vegas lost her mom, at age 7 and never knew her dad. Growing up and losing family members, one after another, kept Stephanie homeless all of her childhood.
Now, this young hardworking mom, with a blended family, has scratched her way back from nothing ... but still struggles especially during the holidays.
So, the FOX5 Surprise Squad teams up with Santa to pay Stephanie an unexpected visit and deliver her some “life-changing” Christmas cheer!

Being a single Dad of 2 myself with little to no family support, not even their mother who might I add does absolutely nothing for them since I first gained full custody of them 4 yrs ago. I must admit I've struggled many of days to keep a roof over our heads, and experiencing the toughest financial year of my life, getting laid off without any notice, car breaking down, all within months this past summer. I can't lie these stories give me hope that these tough times are temporary and as long as I continue to be a great father to my children, stay positive, and continue to better myself God will definitely make a way..........God Bless this family and continue to cover this family in the blood of Jesus Christ.

Early this morning I was watching one of the videos and was crying but silently. My bf walked bk in the room and asked are you crying?
I felt so silly because here I was early in the morning wiping my eyes and nose. How would I explain to him that it was because of a video on TH-cam. Lol

That’s amazing. This girl is so me. I am a single mom if 5, just entered my senior year of college, it took me forever, I’m 40, and it took a lifetime but next fall I will be a drug and alcohol counselor. Yesterday for Christmas I tried to give my kids a Christmas and it was so hard, but we had a great day. To all you single moms out there, don’t give up. Xo

This video hits home! She reminds me of my mom. Never showing how hard it really was to raise us kids. She really was so thankful in this video. She received a gift that will help her live a better life! So awesome!
My family lost everything in Hamburg, Germany during WWII. Being granted immigrant status to the United States after the war was pretty much how you felt during the taping of this video. I hope you took this opportunity and succeeded. God bless you and your family.

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see that God does exist with all that's going on in the world since prophecy is slowly but surely revealing itself. We may not see the second coming while we are on this Earth in our physical bodies but it will happen one day. I think the reason people like this one that says they are an atheist is it is taking so long for the second coming to happen. That's because God's time is not our time so our little minds can't wrap around how insanely complex the spiritual realm is and we all want stuff now, so ones like this person say well if He's going to come back why don't he do it now? Because God's timing is perfect. What these people need to do is instead of going around saying don't put an imaginary person into this they should be saying I'm going to keep an open mind.

I've spent the past 2 hours watching these surprise squad videos, in my 22 years of life I don't think I've cried this much in so long. These tears are tears of joy and happiness seeing the impact you have on these families lives it's so beautiful. You guys are amazing keep doing what you guys do!
Omg me too I’ve been watching all the fox5 surprise squad vids for at least 2 hours and I’m a absolute crying mess. I’m the type of person I actually like to cry sometimes , to release emotions I have built up inside myself. And watching these stories really gives me a positive outlook to sharing my emotions… especially when the reporters start to cry too

I've seen comments in various places online, maybe even heard some in person from different people hooting and hollering about Santa being no good for kids, because he's not real, etc. Same thing about the easter bunny. But this video is a perfect example of why they are good. Especially for kids, Just let them enjoy their childhood. Life itself can be a real struggle for a lot of people. Sometimes life sucks. You lose hope. You're tired of struggling. There are so many people out there like Stephanie. If we would just help one another, life would be so much better. It's overwhelming hard in that position and have no support. I know all about that.

I lost my Mom only 4 months ago, she did everything for us, she couldn’t give us everything we wanted, but she gave us what we needed, it brings tears to my eyes to see any single mom or father for that matter go through it all for their kids forsaking themselves, I miss her soo dearly everyday, she was my best friend. God bless this beautiful woman and her family, and God bless the Surprise Squad!
Theirs a lot of people in this world that don’t have the money to provide for their families. Surprise squad really helped her believe in hope and that’s what she earned.
