    Thanks again for the vids on the 500... I’m years away from having talent that would be worthy of purchasing a 600.. the 500 is perfect for me .. and it seems like most everyone has moved up and graduated from the 500 now.. ( like yourself) .... and there’s not many instructional vids being made anymore..so I appreciate you , continuing to help us 500 users out! 😁👍🏻

    I use a mvave midi controller. Programmed one footswitch to all start and stop (toggle/one press), and clear track 1 & 2 (2 message, momentary/press and hold to trigger)

    Hey John, Thanks again for the stream, im watching it again. That undo/redo pedal assignment to add track power is a cracker. Question, can i use a Helicon Switch 3 footswitch with the RC500? as it has 3 things to map but i only saw the option for 2 in the video. B

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s a very good question. Let me figure that out for you. 👍🏻
      I’m thinking no as the software doesn’t have a 3rd CTRL button so it’s about hoeing to program it.

    Hello and congratulations for your channel, I always follow you.. I wanted to ask you for some info: I have the RC500 and I would like to know if it is possible to start the song by creating a drum kit with the guitar "but not letting the public hear it and therefore not letting it go out from the speakers" but simply record it in the RC and then use it for example in the middle of the song, maybe there is a function? Thank you!

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey and thanks 🙏
      So you want a drum track but only going to your headphones so the audience doesn’t hear it and you can keep in time?
      You can use the Rhythm section in the RC-500 and rout it to just a certain output (A or B on the back) so you could then put that to your ears and the other output would be out to the PA.
      I’m currently working on this exact video and more and more people ask for it. Have a look at this playlist that should help you out: th-cam.com/play/PLO36LpORUSaa2hQEKtoW-FyuhOBCwlfRs.html&si=978NTH-yD0y6fbua

    Besides the fact, that it has different FX, can a rc500 plus FS6 or FS7 be set up so it works exactly like a trusty rc30? So all the tap dance I am used to in my songs don’t change…

  • @BryanBowser
    @BryanBowser 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I had one of these but after a few days, gave it back. I found it complicated and easy to get in trouble. I'm used to parallel looping with the Ditto X4 and tried to set the Boss up the same way. I'm probably doing something wrong but I could not set the third pedal up to stop all.

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      That’s interesting.
      The looper can do parallel (single mode) but it’s a different learning curve. I get it though. When you go from one to another. It’s almost like un-learning to relearn. 👍🏻

    • @steveanstice
      @steveanstice 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a real shame that Boss don't really let people know just how easy this is. All you needed to do was press and hold switch 3 for a couple of seconds, the light above it turns purple and it is now an "all stop/start" button. Another tap reverts it back to track selection.
      It does actually say this in the Parameter Guide but easy to miss amongst everything else. I think a lot of folks don't even know that the Parameter Guide exists as it's download only. ☹️

    I got a couple questions for you my friend. Can I run two different tracks on this that I load up myself for backing tracks. For instance one can be for the bass and the second track can be for synth or a click and other noises that are found on songs. And can I separate the outputs as left and right. In other words can I put track one on the left and then track two on the right?

    Hey, first: Thank you! :) I've already watched another video by you and will check out your playlist for RC 500 :) I made as you said from 11:00: 1
    Pedal 1 = T1 R/P/S(C
    Pedal 2 = T2 R/P/S(C
    Pedal 3 = T1 CLEAR + ASSIGN1… clear T2 (so clear all)
    Unfortunately I saved it. Now every Memory (Slot) seems to have this setting.
    I changed it, then changed it back again - then I got confused ;)
    In another short video you say we can use Memory 1 as a blank template. And while “writing” (saving) I am also asked to which Memory I want to save it. So why are the pedal settings written on Mem also an Mem 99 for example? :/
    Can you help? Clarify? :)

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Okay.. so sounds like you’ve got a little jumbled up here. First off, by default, the RC-500 out of the box, if you change the pedals, it changes them system wide - all 99 memories.
      You can go into the preference setting (MENU>PREFERENCE) and you can change either the pedals, CTRL & Exp to be either system or memory.
      When you change them to memory then this means that if you make a change to the pedals on one memory, it does not effect the others.
      Have a look at this video about using a template and going a bit deeper into it. You can always factory reset the board if it’s got too much.

    Hi John Paul Chris here from the states .....love your content mate.....on a whim i just picked up a rarely used one for $200 usd from a fellow who said it was too complicated for his needs . do you think this will be a good device for a solo acoustic player ? I have several loopers in my collection including a boss rc2 , a flamma Fs21, and a TC Electronic X2 and ive had others thruout the years and my experience is they are either too basic or a little to complicated for me to use on the fly live . Im hoping this falls somewhere in the middle and i rally dont fancy buying an additional fS-6 ext pedal. I just want to make on the go beats and some basic rhythm loops with the ability to start and stop either or both tracks easily on the fly without double tapping ......cheers

    hey can you take a loop from one track and copy it to another empty track?

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK
      @JohnPaulMusicUK  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can certainly take a loop from one memory and move it to another memory by re-saving it and just changing the memory location but you can’t move tracks.
      Also if you did change it to another memory this will overwrite whatever was in that memory so be careful. 🙏

    • @JohnPaulMusicUK

      The fastest way to delete them is to go down a memory and then back up. Cause it doesn’t save, it is a trick along boss loop pedal users use as it’s faster than holding down erase for 2secs.

      @@JohnPaulMusicUK thanks for the answer!!!! As a singing guitarist who sits sometimes while playing on a barstool it's not ideal to go down and switch channels bei hand to delete the liverecording...
      My ideal setup would be the RC500 in standard setup plus an fs6 pedal using one ctrl switch for a undo/redo and the important thing I can't find: the second Ctrl button for an All start/stop/clear for emergency. I guess with midi and a few more switches I can do it all, but I would prefer a simple fs6 to have the emergency stop and clear function. Thanks for your help and videos!
