Awesome Tenors, Snares and Basses! - The 2015 Edition of "Jig 2"!

- Capturing "Jig 2" is always a crapshoot. It's only played in the 4th quarter of the football game only when our team is on defense. Sometimes there are circumstances that happen when they will start playing it and have to quit suddenly, like if a player gets hurt or if our team goes on offense quickly. This years capture occurred during the last game of the season against Pell City on October 30, 2015 and I only had minutes to get into position with the camera (only one angle this year...bummer). I was beginning to wonder if we would be able to get it at all.....Hope you enjoy it and please keep any comments clean and constructive! Thanks!

This is always the highlight to each game, if only they were able to play it more. I sure will miss it.

Yea, those quads are super clean, especially considering the pattern, tempo and that it is single stroked, not to mention stick height. Those snares are soooooo dirty. Most of their part sounds like flams at best. Pretty terrible. Basses need some work as well.

My HS has now started parading Jig, but with one change. Replace "Mary Had a Little Lamb" with the Super Mario theme and continue it in sections throughout the song.

I can and have listened to this a million times. I wish my line was this cool. We just had Drums and Roses and ThunderBox. Yes, it's repetitive but it's catchy, just like the Hey Song
Also, im so confused. I was told guys in school bands are nerds. But this proves everything wrong.

Sounds awesome! Love the bass line! Sounds really nice. The tenor solos were groovy. Wish that our high school drum line can do this type of thing. It's just not a thing at the school I go to :(. Yes, there are some technique, rhythms, and staying together that can use some work but hey it's fun to jam out! Keep up the good work!

this cadence only happens whenever the football team is on defence in the fourth quarter in the game and sometimes it gets cut off early because the team goes offensive randomly

He separated his drum 2 head during the show and we didn’t have time to replace it before it was time to play

Anyone know what sticks the tenors are running? To me they look like the Vic Firth x-hard heavy gauge tenor mallet, but I wasn't sure. Any feedback is appreciated!
My bad, the sticks are properly known as MT1AS. Is this what the tenors use?

Snares are really sloppy, which makes me sad knowing that the tenors are being backgrounded by those pretty alright bass players, and then the snares make it sound like a big jumbled mess.

Why you being mean to him?? Plus your logic is kind of flawed knowing that the tenors and basses can play clean but just because the football game the snares can't? Just because you have to be ready stop doesn't mean that you can't play clean. Also, pretty sure they only play with during timeouts or quarter breaks because its way to long to do between downs. Just my two cents

You know what's funny, every school has their own versions of the same cadences as other schools, a lot of schools play Jig 2, my drumline doesn't. But pretty much everyone has their own version of the cadences; Drumline, Lingo, and Georgia. They are probably named differently but it's so funny how every school just has their version of a cadence from other schools.

The guy on the snare drum looks like a nerd! Lol! I’m a nerd as well! Lol! I really dig the guy’s glasses! He’s probably very smart to be honest! Also, for some reason, they skipped the snare solo! I have no idea why they did that! Do snares not matter? Snare Lives Matter! Besides that, I think they did very well playing or conducting or recording Jig 2!

Don't blame the students for the bad heights, or the lack of timing, its all the instructors doing.. Its nothing personal to these guys, maybe they should get an instructor who can teach them how to play, and not sound like crap.
People can teach them selves. buddy rich, one of the best drummers, if not the best, did. And he couldnt read sheet music

I've watched the videos of this drum line over the years and they all look like they've lost their passion. They don't look happy and they look sad. Who hurt them. (Please don't take this as seriously as you might)

Snare line is garbage and the tenors isn't a battle on you can play their solo the fastest. It's about staying on tempo and no stick clicks. The only thing hat was good in this drumline was the basses. I really enjoyed the bass part.
