JIG 2 - 2018 - "The Avengers Edition"

- Captured on November 2, 2018 with a four camera edit, this annual favorite continues to delight the crowds at football games across North Central Alabama and beyond. JIG 2 is a drum stand tune played only in the fourth quarter when the OM Eagles are on defense and the score is not close as not to distract the home team players. Since the first TH-cam post in 2011 it has garnered literally millions of views and been played all around the world. This year the students added their favorite Avenger's character masks as they performed their solos. Please keep any comments clean and constructive! Thanks for watching. I dont Know about that one. That can’t play quater note flams together without rushing like crazy. The snare solo was so dirty it wasn’t even readable.

My drumline is 3 people. A quad or tenor and kit. Me and someone else is front ensemble so not really drum line. Some other guy plays traps or whatever their called. (Tambourine and those things) For stands tunes we have the drum major on snare, I play bass drum, someone else plays crash cymbals.
Freaking massive compared to ours. We’ve got 1 Tenor, 3 snares, and 3 Basses

Love the new twists! I just wish the you could hear the tenors more.
On the Philippines we usually don't have drumlines, we have drummers and lyrists instead, and we also tried doing jig 2 on a quadro pod, it was so hard, but after a week or two, most of our drummers mastered it, we also use jig 2 as a marching tune whenever we practice or if there's a parade on our town, I really like jig 2😊

Next year will be my first year playing tenors for my high school (will be a freshman), and the captains want me to play this next year (I am fairly good as I have past experience....) Y'all pray for me because not only do I have to get faster chops, but we are so small we only have one tenor so I am going to have to switch with the snares also...oh gosh....

The Basses were already clean in the regular song but they fixed up the solo a *TON* . Those are also the cleanest I've ever heard those snares, definitely keep up the good work.

the one with the thanos mask was actually one of my bands percussion helpers this year and he told us about this and he said when he was wearing it he couldnt see a thing

Next year I’m gonna be a freshman in the marching band. I’m gonna try the tenor drums
I wonder why some college-level drumline don’t usually play stuff like this. It’s very complex especially for the quints. I’m wanting to play snare in college but in the future I would love to play the quints because they look so fun to play

That's rly awesome but why is there always such a hype when they start playing the jig 2?..is it only because it's hard to play or what? Sry for not knowing it, but I'm from Germany :)
Thanks for the question and for watching! Really cool to have viewers from all over the world. Jig is not played every game and is only played in certain situations. (see description above). Our students love it and you can tell by their reactions.
