When you found out your MIL was racist, you should have been secretly recording your interactions with her so you could just play the recording instead of telling your husband about what his mother said. That way, there are NO MISUNDERSTANDINGS. By refusing to tell your husband the truth about, his mother, you are lying to him. That does NOT bode well for your marriage.
I agree op was in a terrible position however, she did something very illegal by spiking MIL's drink. mil is old and mixing drugs with alcohol could have led to serious health problems or even death. Also, MIL could file a lawsuit against DIL which could result in jail time. Over the top revenge.
I can get with everything except drugging someone. They couldve accomplished the same just by secretly recording MIL at times when she'd say racist things when she thought other people wouldn't know. Messing with someone's food or drink is a line too far, even if the person is an a-hole.

My personal experience is that blacks are wayyy more racist. Of course all races have racist people but I would like to see a more balanced representation of who the racists are in these videos. I personally married an indian woman. Years earlier when I was in her room, a bunch of indian college friends came over and they said that my future wife should marry her own and not date the white guy (me). We have been married for 20 years now and have three daughters.
