Wonderful video !!! Originally I got ripped off by the appliance repair guy from Sears who came over to check the washer . He ran a two minute self disagnoses and said it would cost over $600 for a new control board to repair so it wouldn't be worth fixing and gave me a 10% off coupon to buy a new one at Sears and charged me the $79 diagnoses fee . After watching a few of these videos I found out it was the actuator so I bought a new one for $25 , took ten minuts to install and now the machine works perfect. Sears pulled a total rip off scam to get you to buy a new one. I complained to consumer affairs but they said it's legal to scam and cheat consumers and they really don't so anything down there except collect their government pay.
Thank you so much for this! I have been looking for the key to the codes for this kind of Maytag washer and I couldn't find it anywhere 😭This is so so helpful, I can't thank you enough!
Just thought I would add information that I accidentally found......My machine is not draining or spinning correctly either so I was feeling around the edge of the tub inside washer between tub and outside shell...I found a ziplock bag attached (glued maybe) to the shell I opened up baggie and pulled out a little booklet that says "FOR SERVICE TECHNICIAN'S ONLY" and it has how to run diagnostics and error codes in it. Never would have thought that would be there. Hope this helps everyone.
Knew that some machines have one of these tucked somewhere. Just hadn’t found mine yet. Will go look/feel where you said now. Edit: Found it at the left front of machine! Now... wonder how I’m gonna get it out....
Great video, thanks! I could not figure out how to get to or read the error codes (but the "helpful technition" was right there ready to help.....for only $27 bucks), but went to YT and found this video which was clear and to the point! THANKS AGAIN !!
@@xStayCurious I completely agree with you. But that would severely hamper the fees that manufacturers and their appliance technicians can charge the average consumer, and they definitely don't want a simple fix like you suggested messing with their profit margins/bottom line. It's ridiculous on their part.
Agreed! I have a 28 yo dryer that works like a champ! My Maytag washer on the other hand, I don't care for the HE or the fact that you have to wait forever and a day to add an article to the wash. I like and appreciate the simple old agitater
This was great information! My MVWC300XW1 Maytag Centennial clicks and clacks usually during the wash cycle (but sometimes when sensing actually it intermittently seems to do it in every cycle). Sometimes it senses/clacks continuously, fills/clacks continuously. goes to wash cycle/clacks continuously but its obvious the agitator isnt turning then it decides to drain and thn shows Done. I have hated this washer since day 1 when i noticed it takes forever to do a load. Now it is a pain in the a_s POS. My codes are F7 E5, F2 E1, F7 E6 Hopefully I will find some insight as to what is wrong and how much it costs verses sucking it up and buying a new (NOT MAYTAG POS) machine. Thanks again for the great video!!!!

So, my machine doesn't move from sensing to wash with clothes in it, but diagnostics result in NO CODES. Maybe I should run diag with some clothes in it?
Mine just goes right into lock and then it fills and then goes to wash and tries to cycle to wash and then it drains and wash and spin is on at the same time.
Sir, that pause/Play button is supposed to be mounted on top of the control panel. It’s inside, sitting wedged between the panel, and the actual button component on the logic board.
My four year old Maytag Centennial is on my front porch. A new Speed Queen is on the way. Worst piece of garbage I have ever wasted money on. Anyone wants it, it looks brand new and it's free. I would prefer to give it to someone I truly hate because anyone who ends up with it is gonna hate me.
It is a Maytag Centennial Top Load washer. Mod # begins with MVWC. I’d guess a MVWC400 style unit. Rest of the mod isn’t super important to know how to read codes, you can do this same procedure on most Whirlpool, Maytag, Amana, Roper, Estate, & Crosley to read codes because they are all partnered thru Whirlpool
Help... I don't know what to do.. The machine stop while spinning and after that the light 🚦 blinking, and I canceled and took out the clothes , put another clothes, when I started again., the water comes out and after that the machine stop the light blinking again, then after mins the water drain, the light is all off, and I here the noice in the machine it's like sound spinning, but when I saw the inside of the machine is not spinning, and I hurry up unplug the machine, 😭😭😭 Help.. My madam will kill me if she know about this.
Hi thank you for making this video. When I ran the diagnostics ALL the lights were blinking which I read as F8421. No other error codes. Not sure how to read that. Any clues? Thank you
You have F15 as the F part. Looking at the list of error codes (see www.searspartsdirect.com/washer-repair/error-codes/maytag-2015-centennial-top-load-washer-error-codes.html) I don't see an F15. I suggest that you clear and rund the diag again. If you get it again you will have to punt.
Not sure what you came up with but mine was doing the same thing. All lights flashing. F15. Found it online and states that the Hall sensor is bad on the motor. Replace and it should be fine. Did you come with anything different? Thank you! Here is the link that I found www.fixya.com/support/t9566428-maytag_washer

You got to be kidding. Hahahaha. Unplug your machine and keep the lid up. Wait 15 minutes. Plug in. Move your dial to whatever you want. Push and hold start for approx 10 sec. Lady, all the steps you gave is is not needed. Boot it like you do your computer. That's it.

Why did mine come up with oversuds when It didn’t suds up much in my washer?

what could be wrong with the tub when it spins out of balance all the time

This was incredibly helpful--thank you!
Mine immediately went into spin cycle. How do I stop it? It’s not showing any lights
You do not need to keep turning it to the left. This is the way you do it L, left R, right. This is the pattern: L, R, R, R, L, R.
