Steve, thank you for the fantastic review video! 🍺 It's a pleasure to bring something new and make people happy. Congrats to all the winners, enjoy! 👏🏼 Thanks again for your time and excellent reviews / videos that you bring to our community 🎉
The pleasure is all mine Roy, thankyou for bringing a much needed feature into MSFS! In my opinion it's a must have for those who really need to see their flight controls, charts, kneeboards and even keep an eye on their beloved pets :D I can't wait to see how Sim XR progresses in the future. (I still love that name btw) ;) Best wishes.
Impressive Roy. Shout out but I'll buy a copy if it works with Pico4. Seems like it would.. Where can we find this? @asobo this needs to be fully integrated.
This is great! This is the best definition of mixed reality, really practical and cool 😎 Nice one Roy 💪
@rkApps-shop, what a great tool! I love the SimHaptic software with my buttkicker, and I exclusively fly in VR so something like this would be super helpful particularly when I fly IFR, I can write my clearances down on an actual paper notepad rather than trying to peak through the corner of my vr headset.
Wow. Still in my infancy of VR flying, so would probably be wasted on me, but I‘ll save the site in my VR/FlightSim folder
As VR software developer also called Roy this video is very confusing for me... It's like I got blackout drunk and published an app without remembering 😅 P.S. Great work Roy! (that felt even weirder!)
LOL
I'll have one of what Roy had
This Roy guy is the man. I struggled to get Reality Mixer working and this seems to easy. It would be great to read checklists or make notes of that ifr clearance in mixed reality.
And with my my mini FCU on the way this would be a great addition.
Definitely on my wishlist for 2024. 😊
Roy, this is amazing!! Thank you, Steve, for letting us know.
My father-in-law is in his 80s and can't get his pilot's license, but he loves flying. He tried MSFS on my computer and is completely addicted. However, since he gets to only fly once in a while, so there's no way he can acquire the muscle memory to know where the saitek controls are and where the keyboard shortcuts are for the rest of the controls. This will make it so he can see the keys and actually play the game. Just fantastic!
Love this comment. Congratulations you've won a free copy for your Father in Law. Please message me in my Discord here: discord.com/invite/ff5HwQJj
@@VRFlightSimGuy amazing! I had already told him and he was going to buy it. I'll call him again now and say all taken care of! Hahahaha
Roy...very cool. I have demoed Reality Mixer and Color Panel on my channel. I'd love to try this and review it too with my Altimeter Motives realistic sim cockpit.
I can't wait to see what you can do with this Russ.
Great app. The Q3 just gets better & better. Thanks Steve, thanks Roy 😊
Poor puppy. I had brain surgery on Monday so know how they feel. Roy, this is a game changer! I had to give up real world flying and have been waiting for something like this! Fantastic!
Wishing you a speedy recovery!
@@HEMSJimthank you so much!
Wow! This just made my night! I’ve been trying to learn how to use my new quest three while trying to learn how how to use blender to 3d model a panel so I can try to use it for mixed reality. While trying to learn to use virtual desktop and considering giving up and returning my headset to Amazon:) Thanks Steve and Roy Awesome channel and software recommendation.
Roy you legend, this is literally a game changer for many a VR pilot, cheers!
Thank you Roy for such a great implementation of mixed reality! I’ve been struggling with a way to see my keyboard in VR for ages. Drilling a peep hole in my headset just doesn’t seem practical! 😂
Great video !!! Defo worth a look , Congratulations to Roy on a very innovative utility unlocking the hidden power of the pass through cameras ..
What an amazing piece of software! Great job Roy, Im looking forward to using it on my Q3
A very big THANK YOU to Roy for developing this software for the MSFS!!! I am continually amazed at what can be, and is, being done with MSFS as far as new features being developed and implemented. Way to go Roy!!!! Keep up the great work. It is so nice to see that there are folks that are willing to take their time to develop new things for the sim!!!!!
This is amazing, Steve! I just looked up that the Crystal has a pass through mode...never knew it was even a thing! Shout out to Roy...I'm going to buy a copy now, so no free version for me thanks! Also, sending love to Dorris and wishing her a speedy recovery! 🥰
Thanks mate much appreciated 😊
The Crystal does have a pass-through mode, added via a firmware update, BUT, it has LOW-RES BLACK-and-WHITE cameras that were built in only for optionally using it with Lighthouse position tracking. If you can find a way to get full resultion on the Crystal with VD wireless, you might get a borderline satisfactory experience with SimXR. But I don't believe that VD can be made to work with the Crystal or Crystal Light. Please post your results here if you get anywhere with SimXR on a Crystal.
Thanks Roy, this looks fantastic. Certainly worth a good look, and looks like something I have been looking out for for ages. Will certainly help in the airliners
Roy - this is really awesome! Thanks for creating this for the community!
Wow, this is exactly what i need! Shoutout Roy! No more fumbling around in the dark 😀
Shout out to Roy! Definitely been looking for some sort of native pass through. Looking forward to using it!
Awesome. Looking forward to giving this a try with my Airbus quadrant! Whoever you are, Roy, great work!!
Fantastic piece of kit Roy! I am interested free or not! And Steve give the puppy a good pet for me and hope she feels better soon! 🐶
That means a lot thankyou. Congratulations you've won a free copy. Please message me in my Discord here: discord.com/invite/ff5HwQJj
Wow! A real game changer! Literally! Thank you Roy! You are a game changer.
Wow! That is amazing, Roy. I’m looking forward to seeing this for myself.
Thank you Roy! No more spilled coffee!
What a cool approach!!! Thanks for thinking outside the box Roy!!!
nice tool Roy! hope the effort pays off so you can make more cool VR stuff 💪
That is so cool! My mind has officially been blown! I would LOVE a copy of that program!!!
This could be really amazing, great work Roy🎉
So simple but yet absolute genius, hats off to you Roy!
Great piece of software Roy! This is the kind of development that opens the door to so many possibilities.
Hey Roy! Great idea and exciting. If you have any more I'd seriously use it to prepare for my first solo and polish of my PPL. I always wanted to be a pilot and going for it.
Good Job Roy, I will need to fly deeper into this.
Thanks for this great video! I am going to try it out when my Quest 3 arrives. It's greyscale in the Quest 2 for anyone wanting to know. Thanks Roy for this brilliant idea and development!
Game changing Roy!! Giving real rigs a second chance to shine! Thanks for the giveaway!!
Very cool. Thank you roy and steve and everyone. hope your dog is better.
Thanks mate
What a fantastic product - Thank you Roy! 👍
Does it work with the Reverb G2
Roy, keep it coming, this is fabulous!
This is exactly what I have been waiting for. All the best Roy.
Shout out to Roy!! I’ve been trying to find rumours for future quest 3 updates that might do something like this … thanks for the video … no need to spend any more time Googling, just got to be patient for this!
@rkApps-shop what a great tool! I love the SimHaptic software with my buttkicker, and I exclusively fly in VR so something like this would be super helpful particularly when I fly IFR, I can write my clearances down on an actual paper notepad rather than trying to peak through the corner of my vr headset.
I'm so excited about this and the other mixed reality options. As a pilot in real life, the use of foreflight on my iPad is 100% part of my workflow. Being able to see an iPad while syncing it with the simulator is going to be a game changer
Unbelievable, great job, thank you 🙂
Roy just made my Quest 3 worth the purchase. Thanks Roy
Love and quick recovery to the puppy!
Shout out to Roy! good job
Thanks mate :)
I don't know who "Roy" is but he is my hero! This is HUGE for me and my VR setup. I mostly abandoned my Saitek/logitech instruments when I fly VR but it's time to bust them out again!!! THAN K YOU ROY!!

This is so cool. I’m always fumbling around trying to find the right keys on my keyboard. This will be a game changer. And it’s actually affordable, unlike most every other program and piece of hardware for flight simming. The only drawback for me is that I have a Quest 2, but this will still make FS so much more enjoyable.
Game changer! Roy is clearly a genius! Also, love Fsrealistic!
I'd like a QR code pattern that you can tape onto your equipment, and then inside MR draw a 3D masking shape around your equipment. Then when you start a new session or move the equipment, the app would automatically detect the QR code and restore the 3D masking shape.
The shapes you create in SimXR are stored, what is not stored is the position of the ingame panel window. Yet, a cool idea here thanks!
Thank you Roy, no more smacking hands into peripherals!
Shoutout to Roy for creating some great software, hopefully the save feature comes soon as I can see that being really useful.
Hope your doggy feels better soon.
exactly what i was looking for with my home cockpit
Great video, thanks. Now I have to reinstall MSFS and give this a try.
Cheers for watching buddy.
Hey steve. Looks really good. Does the pimax crstall light have pass through??? Looking forward to your reviewwon the light aswell.question could you hook up a separate camera to view your controls as a pass through if your headset dowsnt have pass through cheers
Roy creates brilliant applications!
I‘m really impressed. Dear Roy, as a Mixed reality developer, I would love to get a free copy. Maybe there will be a coop option as we are still stuck in really expensive gear. If not… still an excellent job.
Congratulations, you have just won a free copy. Please contact Steve on his discord.

Real nice. Same for DCS and I‘m absolutly stunned
We will do our best Captain
This looks amazing! Hope Darius gets well soon.
That’s wonderful! Your dog is sleeping with you there in the cockpit!! 😂
Roy, My Quest 3 has been on the shelf waiting for an easily useable mixed reality add on for MSFS. Looking forward to trying your SimXR. Game-changer? Where do I go to watch for the release date? Thx
As Always: awesome Steve!!😊
Thank you! Cheers!
This is a step forward Roy, can't wait to see how this app develops
Bad ars! will this work with the Crystal Lite?
This is really neat! Great video! I wonder if there is a way to reverse the mask? For example I would like like to mask the outside windows and only have that be the simulator. Then the rest could be my flight deck!
Well, I believe that utilizing the whole 5 SimXR windows carefully can get you where you want. But hey, be better way than trying, get it for free (for 7 days) and proof concept it.
What a game changer. Roy is a genius. Microsoft failed to produce the cockpit we required as cockpit builders as per X-Plane so this will most definitely fill the gap. Well done.
Hello Roy,
That is looking very good and I would like to give it a try.
As I have 2 G1000 Units (and pop-out Windows stop being updated in VR) this could be the solution I am looking for.
I am currently using open knee-board, which is working OK, but is a challenge to set up the window.
However there a button can be assigned to reset the view, similar to MSFS, where we use a button to reset the view when in VR.
Could this be also an option for SIMXR?
It will be nice if we can get this for Pimax Crystal in DCS, even though the camera quality of the pass through in the Pimax Crystal sucks as of now.
Okay, everybody seems to be excited about this. Good!
To me, to be honest, this mixed reality stuff would be a real immersion breaker in VR.
Maybe my muscle memory is exceptionally good. I never had a problem grabbing the yoke or finding a lever or button right away.
Having a floating window in front of me that shows me my controls which don‘t match the controls of the simulated plane at all is a no go.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Have a nice weekend, Bud!
Rockon Roy!! Thank you!!
Hope Dorris is feeling better soon! Very cool app Roy!
Thanks mate :)
Awseome Software! game changer for my motion rig im setting up
For use exclusively on MSF2020/2024, to play wired, which one would you recommend, the Pico3 because it has DisplayPort (less rendering loss), or the Quest3 because it is slightly superior and newer ??? Video card, RTX3060. Thanks.
For Roy, I have now activated my licence key and have SimXr up and running, However, I have a pink square that appear instead of passthrough. The setting are as recommended, i.e RGB 255, 0, 255. Do you have an aswer to this please? Thanks.
Thank you, Steve, for the video. What is required to make SIMXR work? All VR headsets? Or just some VR headsets? Does the headset have to have "pass through" to use SIMXR?
Any VR headset that has passthrough capability and works with virtual desktop will do.
Fancy a free copy of Sim XR? Send Roy a shout out below! Best of luck!
Big shout out to the royster grreettings from auckland new zealand
BIG shout out and hello from Cape town South Africa! Seems like a great product for my homebuilt sim! Can't wait to give it a try!
Straight to begging I see
This is fantastic, well done Roy! Do I have to be running Virtual Desktop to use this? Or can I use my cable?
We haven't tested it using a cable, as VD doesn't support cable mode. So we assume not.
Hey Steve another informative video thank you I do have a question for you do you think I'll need Sim XR with the summonium VR1 as you showed it appears to have similar software
VR1 has its own cool software and it's about to get even better :)
Sounds brilliant, looking forward to upgrading to a next generation headset with MR passthru
Great work here Roy! In the case of the G1000, Is it possible to mask out just the real world controls so I can see the realworld buttons and knobs but still see the in sim G1000 screen?
Yes, that is supported using the hollow slider in SimXR.
Cool concept and UI! I would really like to see something that won't rely on virtual desktop and this keying of virtual shapes workaround leaving that nasty edge. It would also be cool if it supported external cameras so people without built in passthrough can have their own solution to it. I currently try to make use of a Stereolabs Zed Mini, and then only way to use it currently is reality mixer, but the interface for that is a bit fiddly and development is slow.
If you do a passthrough box around your controls can you still look over them to see the cockpit instruments or does it block out all the way through?
There is a setting in virtual desktop where you can control how "blended" your mixed reality is. So you can do half way so you'll see reality, yet, also the virtual.
Shout out to Roy! ...😊 well done it looks awesome.
Shout out to steve too for your enthusiasm! 👍
Ps. Dunno if this works with pimax crystal ..maybe its only for the quest
Pps.. Get well soon Doris
I'd love a copy of this! It would massively enhance my setup. I exclusively fly in VR and this would be a great help with the immersion factor. I'd also love to be along for the ride, as the development of the software continues. PS I hope Doris is feeling better soon.
Congratulations, you have just won a free copy. Please contact Steve on his discord.

Thanks Greg really appreciated😊
hello. Does it works on simracing games? like iracing, AC, rfactor, etc. Thanks
Hi Steve. Do you need virtual desktop to run this as I use a link cable on Quest 2? Hope Doris is better ❤. Cheers Steve
The top two things I want in a flight sim. Force Feedback controls and great passthrough to use my iPad and peripherals
Great app and technology!
Is there a chance to still win a copy to give it a try?
Hi Roy, Steve, from sunny Queensland Australia. Just love your videos. I have one question. I use a Quest 3 and have downloaded SimXr, however I am unable to find a virtual keyboard to fill out my email to start the trial. I am 70 years young which may have something to do with it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Roy for developing these tools. I worked with VR testing. Can help out if you need help.
after looking at the the web page can you confirm that this will not work with the pimax crystal?
Looks interesting.
Does it allow use of webcams for headsets without passthrough cameras?
❤🤘
Best wishes for Doris, of course.
Roy, old bugger, well done😂
Thanks mate 😊
iRacing when? :)
This looks amazing, and would love to be able to use it for sim racing :)
super cool Roy! any way this makes its way to racing games like iRacing?
Will it work with the link cable as well?
QUEST 3 is truly the best in every way. 👍👍👍
Other expensive VR headset companies should follow MetaQuest 3's example.
For flight simulation and high quality VR, the Quest 3 is not the best. But it's a great headset at a great price. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Could this be a solution for those of us hoping to be able to use our HP Reverb headsets after M$ removes the WMR platform from Windows?
Can each passthrough windows be linked to an individual controller button to toggle “show and hide” of that specific window, as for example sometimes i just want to look at a Map which would need quite a big passthrough window so I would need to close it when done.
I have “Reality Mixer” but this gives me two issues:
(1) If I move my head in Vr the passthrough window moves slightly compared to the actual game
(2) With “Reality Mixer” I get in-game shudders like I’m trying to run the game at too high of graphics settings and I have a 4090.
So I would definitely purchase this as i need something like this that just works.
Great idea, we will look into it. Thanks.
Just give it a quick try and seems to work ok, it does “Automatically save the shape” but if you close it and reopen it by the tab at the top of screen, the box reopens smaller than the drawn shape which means you have to drag the box to at least the size of your shape as if you don’t and just close the box it makes the drawn shape smaller. So ideally a short cut button to close and reopen the shape without opening the box would be awesome. Keep up the good work.
thanks Roy.. does anybody know if you can get this to work on a Vive pro 2
If vive pro can support passthrough either via VD or Steam and replace specific color with reality, then yes. You can try for 7 day free and check.
