NFL DYNASTIES THAT NEVER HAPPENED

- This video looks at all of the potential dynasties throughout NFL history that came so close to happening, but never actually did. I've always found this topic to be fascinating so I decided to make a nice little video about it. In order to make my list a team had to make at least 1 Super Bowl appearance in the decade they're listed in. Enjoy.

“The 2000s Patriots lead by their head coach Bill Belichick”
Subtle jab at Brady 💀💀💀
I mean, he's not exactly wrong
I honestly thought he'd say their head coach was Brady 🤣
honestly, brady didn't really become great until a little later on.
@@ElGatito-236 his defense carried him most games especially superbowls like 36 53 49 and more
You seem pretty dismissive of how Brady willed that Wilson pick. Maybe other QBs would have more rings if they simply used mind force to make their top 5 defenses make plays to win games.
i mean Russ had a top 5 defense all through the 2014 playoff run and the defense was clutch against Carolina and helped against the Packers. Maybe better and more experienced quarterbacks know how to play against top defenses than a third year quarterback.
ironic bc the seahawks had the best defense that year lmfao brady’s defense carried tho. brady def didn’t go 13-15 125 yards & 2 TDs in the 4th quarter😂
@@MightyWhitey9 All for naught if Brady doesn't use his legacy to will Butler to jump the route.
@@SkolneyVikings I'm not really into stats and shit but I've seen ALL the superhero movies and Brady has definitely had some secret sauce in the mix.
Just like Brees willed Porter to get a pick 6 and how Peyton Manning willed Rex grossman to crap the bed to cover up for his bad performance
Barry uploaded. That means this Saturday will be amazing.
I'm surprised he didn't mention the 2000's Rams. Then again after losing to New England, that team just had a progressing, but abrupt death.
“A dynasty is born tonight”
They were right 😂
The 2000's Chargers also could've been here.
As a Packers fan, I thought we were going to be the next Patriots when we went 15-1 following a Super Bowl win. Oh, that sweet summer child
Love your videos, dude!
@@jarredsparks3399 his entire channel is literally just him bashing the young Turks 💀💀💀
@@YoungChuy2398 Based. The Young Turks suck.
2010s Saints should've made the list. From 2009 thru 2020, they made the playoffs 8 times, 6 divisional round appearances, two NFC championship appearances, and the one Super Bowl win. They just missed (i.e., got screwed out of) a NFC championship appearance and a Super Bowl appearance.
RIP Buddy. Been a fun follow for a couple of years and I'm glad I got to see that high.
Barry as a Packers fan. Your thumbnail causes me tremendous pain.
Every time this video shows up in my feed that thumbnail brings me a new wave of fresh agony.
I dont feel sorry for you
What about the Harbaugh 9ers. Those teams were stacked beyond belief but everyone forgets about them cuz they never won a sb. Their owner was also an idiot and forced out Harbaugh and subsequently many players left
I still haven't recovered from the self-inflicted stupidity of it.
I'll never understand firing harbaugh
@@LaVieDeReine86 Now you've had a less painful version of Jerry Jones and Jimmy Johnson. Now you know how we felt.
@@jackduncan5442 Very accurate!
The niners have been one of the most consistently good teams in the past decade and it feels like people always forget they exist till the playoffs
Lmao at not even mentioning Brady. Very on brand
Browns in the 80s should have been on here. Lost 3 AFC championships in heartbreaking fashion despite having leads or a chance to win at deep in opponents territory late in those games
2010s Saints deserved to be on the list. Just came off a championship in 09', made the playoffs 6 times and had the best winning percentage in the NFL from 2017 to 2019 and arguably the best QB in the NFL. Constantly held back by defense, bountygate, and crazy shit happening to them in the playoffs (Vernon Davis and Alex Smith, Minnesota Miracle, No Call, playing on wild card weekend despite going 13-3 TWICE). No team got screwed out of opportunities to win more championships in the last decade than the Saints.
And in 2020 being the 2 seed in the year they decide to only give one team a first rd bye.
Breese was never close to the best qb in the league
He should be on there. If his defense helped him out more they would've been better, only time it wasn't on the defense was 2020 season
@@LocketloverHe was playing with broken ribs I think Brady fans overrated that playoff win against the saints
@@SHDOAY oh fr? damn he was a fucking soldier
2010s 49ers could’ve made a case
2011: Kyle Williams muff
2012: missed holding on Crabtree
2013: 3 TOVs in NFC game 4th Q
They got very lucky against the Saints
Jim Harbaugh can't win a big game to save his life
Does 2019 not count all of the sudden?
@@wiredtardis Nobody on the 2019 49ers was on those early 2010s teams
@@AuburnFanSince2010 I can think of Joe Staley off the top of my head
No mention of the 90's Broncos? They lose as the 1 seed in '96, then Elway retires in '99. Very conceivable they could've won 3 titles in that span
He included the Packers (one Superbowl win), but not the Broncos (two)?
I mean, idk if 3 years is enough to be a dynasty. Dynasty is about longevity and performance.
Broncos were only contenders for 3 years. Hard to call it a dynasty when it's so brief. Early 1990s Broncos were pretty bad.
So much of playoff success is dependent on fluke plays going your way. This is a baseball example, but it still proves my point. The 2004 and 2005 St Louis Cardinals won 100 or more games each season, but didn’t win a single game in the world series either year. Then they limped into the playoffs with a 83-78 record in 2006, faced an untalented Padres team, somehow beat the best team in baseball that year in the Mets because their bullpen gave up home runs to So Taguchi and Yadier Molina (who hit just above .200 that season), and beat the historically unlucky Tigers due to their pitchers not knowing how to throw a baseball to an infielder. This is very similar to the 2006 colts, who had better teams in 04 and 05, but despite mediocre performances from Manning in the playoffs (outside of the second half of the AFC championship), won a super bowl
I’m gonna miss UltraWeedHater 😓
‘Came up just short’ shows Peyton on the bench being blown out lmfao
2010’s Steelers could never get over the hump
Ben got over a couple of humps in the 2000s if you catch my drift 🤣
@@Noah_Tindell It’s true, i was the security guard blocking the door
@@Noah_Tindell lol. Grape jokes
2017-2018 was the year, then we choked against Blake fucking Bortles
it's shocking how little playoff success they had in the 2010s... after XLV, only three playoff wins
1:28 How the hell can you argue that the 71-73 Dolphins were the closest to a three peat when the 16-18 Pats also went to 3 straight super bowls and played much close in SB 52 than the Dolphins did in SB VI.
That Buffalo one will always haunt me for the rest of my life seriously they couldn't win at least one of those things and I wasn't even alive during that time
They lost to 3 great teams.
Yeah, Bills definitely could’ve beaten the Giants. All it took was a FG.
The goat blesses us with a weekend upload
People forget how great the 70s Raiders v Steelers rivalry was
As a Packers fan, it hurts to see them make this list twice. It's well earned though. So many chances to add some more championship hardware. Lots of wasted opportunities. 2014 NFC Championship game vs Seattle and the Super Bowl against the Broncos and Elway are the ones I wish they could have back. Those ones hurt the most.
The Packers have the most heartbreaking losses of any team since I've been watching football
TO TD in '98

Going one and done after a 15-1 season

@@forman208 Their performance in NFC Championship games is awful. 1-4 in those games with Rodgers.

That nfc championship game was 2015 🤦
@@christianalexander579 I go by season. It was the 2014 season. Yes I'm well aware they played that game in 2015. But again, I go by the season.
Kinda funny how the Eagles made 5 nfc championships in from 2000-2004 but didn’t win a ring but did win a ring off a one year wonder
Packers fans: Sees the thumbnail
*Vietnam War Flashback*
The Redskins got a third Superbowl championship in a ten year span , but just missed the decade cutoff.
Yeah that's just like the 2007 and 2011 Giants. Just missed the cut. Also 2000's Saints and 2010's Saints.

RIP Barry’s Twitter
2000s Rams should be there. They should have won at least 2 more Super Bowls as the Greatest Show on Turf
Ravens were a Lee Evans drop from a Superbowl run in 2011.
Technically, that would have meant back to back Superbowl appearances.
The Chiefs still have time to become the next great NFL dynasty, but the real question is will it happen?
Yes, yes it will good sir.
No one just lucks their way into 7 rings. If having great players around you wins you a Super Bowl, the 2010 chargers would like a word with you.
I knew he wasn't gonna mention Baltimore, but I still had my hopes up 😂😂. The 2010s Ravens were two heartbreaks against the Patriots away from being in three Super Bowls in four years. Also, they had a run from 2008 to 2014 where they only lost to the eventual AFC Champion in the playoffs. Say what you want about Joe Flacco, and those guys, but they were in the thick of it for sure.
One that flies under the radar is the 70s Rams. They won their division every year from 1973-79 and made 5 NFC championships, but always ran into the Cowboys or Vikings. Their one Super Bowl appearance (1979) was actually their worst season in that span at 9-7.
I'm late but 2010s Saints deserved a mention. We should have had 4 straight super bowls (although Brees would have retired after 1 more)
Great video! Id also put Saints in for 2010's and Giants in for either 2000's or 2010's. Id go 2000's for Giants because they had a really good record in 2008.
The 2010's Ravens could have been included too.
They weren’t even close to a dynasty. A dynasty means being SB contenders for several years or more.
@@gbrow1604 2008: Lost AFC Championship Game
2009: Lost Divisional Round
2010: Lost Divisional Round
2011: Lost AFC Championship Game (narrowly)
2012: Won SB
2013: Down Year, missed playoffs
2014: Lost Divisional Round (close game against the Patriots, even lead to a rule change)
Compare that to the stretches that other teams on this list had. The Ravens weren't that far away from winning another ring.
I think one you missed was the 1980s browns. Made three AFC championships and lost them all to the Broncos.
Tom Brady is so great that he even gets credit for other players mistakes😂
No joke I really feel bad for Malcom Butler because he never seems to get any credit for the pick it's always Brady even though he wasn't even on the field at the time. After the Patriots won people were saying stuff like how the Goat led them to another superbowl win with pretty much no mention of Butler.
@@matthewcrispinwordofGod oh just shut up butler got a massive pay raise just for the pick
@@username-mf4mu Ok so what a pay raise and actually getting credit are two different things. After this superbowl who got named the MVP: Tom Brady. No one even mentioned Butler. I know you Tom Brady Meatriders like to act like he's the only one on the field but the truth is he's not and you getting all butthurt because I pointed out a simple fact about how Tom's teammates deserve some credit too proves my point.
As a Die hard Green Bay Packers Fan..... I don't think I'll ever get over the 2014 NFC Championship.....
2010's 49ers got snubbed, as many SB's as Denver with 1 more Championship game appearance.
They never even won a Super Bowl
@@forman208 But very easily could've won 4.
@@RockinRobb01 They didn't win. Accept it and move on.
I think there's a case for the 2010s 9ers and Steelers:
San Fran lost 2 Super Bowls on some bullshit, missed a 3rd because Richard Sherman exists, and likely could've been a juggernaut in the NFC if Harbaugh didn't Harbaguh.
Pittsburgh at one point had an all-time great QB, all-time great WR, should've-been all-time great HB, all-time great OLB, and all-time great SS, they got screwed out of a #1 seed because Tom Brady willed the refs to forget what a catch is, and we probably would've beaten Denver in the 2016 Divisional Round if Burfict didn't attempt manslaughter on Antonio Brown
What's forgotten about the 2000s Patriots was not only did they lose the 07 Super Bowl to the Giants, but they also had a big lead in the 06 AFC championship against Indy before blowing it and losing that game. They would've been probably favored to beat the Bears in that year's Super Bowl who had Rex Grossman as their QB.
I feel like the 2010s 49ers were missed here. I'm not talking about the Jimmy G era, I'm talking about back with Harbaugh and Kaepernick. They lost the Super Bowl to the Ravens on a controversial no-call, then lost the NFC Championship vs Seattle in a very controversial game involving the refs (and this is coming from a Seahawks fan), then Harbaugh got fired and Kaepernick did his civil rights stuff. Had those last 2 things never happened and the first two went slightly differently, I seriously think Kaepernick/Harbaugh would be on the level of Rodgers/McCarthy, Wilson/Carrol, Brees/Payton and Brady/Bellicheck.
Now that you think about it the 70’s was super competitive. five teams consistently good and vying for championships
Great video Barry. Thank you for making it. : D
Barry what kind of music do you use in the background of your videos. They sound really good and are pretty catchy
That background music wild and I won’t say how I know 💀💀😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
As a Packers fan, seeing the thumbnail made me die inside. I still haven’t recovered from that game and I don’t think I ever will. Thought for sure that we were gonna go to the Super Bowl.
There is no old saying that "people remember the victors", i think your confusing it with "history is written by the victors".
Your videos end more abrupt than my relationship with my father.
RIP BRO U GOT SUSPENDED ON TWITTER
For completeness in the Super Bowl era, we should look at the late 60s half decade, where the Packers were the dynasty, with the Cowboys, Chiefs, and Raiders being the near misses. (Maybe you could also throw in the Jets, Colts, and Vikings).
1956-1963 Giants
Don Shula's Colts
60s Brown's
Greatest Show on Turf
10s Ravens
06-20 Saints
10s 49ers
80s Browns
The next dynasty will probably be the Chiefs but I also think The Bills, Chargers, Browns, Giants and Panthers have a good case
The giants and panthers don’t deserve to be on this list
Lmao, the Giants have made the playoffs once in 10 years, how the fuck are they a potential dynasty?
Wtf
I think the Saints or the Bucs should be in the Giants or the Panthers place
Couldve made an argument for 49ers and Falcons who each had about 3 legitamately clean chances at a ring in the 2010s
49ers honestly should have 4-5 Super Bowls from 2011-2021 with how many stacked rosters they had
@@nikolajames3654 there was the year where they choked in OT to the Giants team that beat the Pats. They definitely couldve beat the Ravens in the Super Bowl. They nearly beat the Seahawks in that NFC Championship. They were beating the Chiefs late in the Super Bowl and were beating the Rams late in the NFC Championship last year
@@fantasypanda6792 yea tbh I felt like they were the better team in all of those games but a few little things just costed them.

What was holding the ravens back from making this list in those late 00s early 2010’s seasons? Don’t tell me it was because of our stale offense and avg QB.
Even the Raiders of the 80s wining two Super Bowl before failing to advance to the conference championship after 83

2020’s niners is coming isn’t it😢
The Big Blue Wrecking Crew should be on here for the 1980s. One of the best defenses ever.
Even with SB LIV not counting, 20s Niners looking strong to end up here.
So far, 3 Conference Champ appearances & 1 Super Bowl appearance, but no rings.
If they turn on the jets, they could pass KC's two, but it feels highly unlikely at the moment.
We definitely need NBA dynasties that never were
3:30 rip ref
1970's Rams could be on the list too. Made the NFC title game 4 out of 5 seasons.
Never even won a Super Bowl
didnt they win the nfc west 7x in a row or something like that
They just won a super bowl in LA
I was expecting the 2000’s Chargers. Playoff appearances in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009. Including an AFC Championship appearance.
Bills obviously. 4 straight SB appearances, winning none. :(
Giants low key could have been a dynasty in the 2000s, even without the 2011 sb. If they won in 2000, and if plax hadn't of shot himself, they very well could have had 3 sbs in a decade
The 90s Vikings should have had 2 Superbowls at least. They went to the playoffs every year from 1992-2000 except for 1995 when they missed out due to tie breakers.
Packers and saints literally share the same pains. Hof qb, wins one sb, chokes every season after, and the saints first one is asterisked because of bounty gate.
Packer fans are saints fans but not spicy.
I'd have included the Rams GSOT in 00's time. Had they won Super Bowl 36,the 00's would've been alot different.

Alternate Universe for 2012: Who wins the Super Bowl between the Falcons and the Broncos?
The 70s Rams also could have been mentioned. Won seven straight division titles, but couldn't get past the Vikings or Cowboys in the playoffs.
As an eagles fan I have a bad feeling the Eagles might be on here twice if this video is made in the next 10 years
2000s chargers were probably the most talented team to never win anything
Seriously.
If not for Marlon Mcree in 06, injuries in 07, and Nate FN Kaeding in 09, we would've won 3 SBs
What is the website shown through-out the video for team records and statistics?

im actually interested in his opinion on Alex smith
How do u not include the chargers in the 2000s
I hate to admit it but the patriots from 2016-18 were actually the closest any team ever came to three-peating in the Super Bowl. Their one loss was an incredibly close came that they definitely could have won had things gone differently.
Also the Ravens deserved a mention for either the 2000s or 2010s.
Anyone got the new Twitter account?
So Barry, are you going to forget what happened in 1986 that caused the Bears downfall? Charles Martin injured Jim McMahon in probably the dirtiest play of all time, and the Bears offense fell apart: McMahon was never the same after
RIP @UltraWeedHater
2010's Niners could have made the list. They lost 2 NFC title games and a super bowl in a 3 year stretch.
The thumbnail gives me a lot of pain still to this day
Saints without a doubt should of been the first 2010s team mentioned.. legit sb favorites like 4 or 5 years
I still wonder if manning had not fallen off plus the legendary defense how much could they dominate
