    Tough session. Can’t expect you to hero fold more than once a day. Flopping 2 small pair multi-way almost demands a bet/raise on the flop. Always interested in listening to you describe your observations of players actions and demeanor and how it affects your decision making - GTO be damned. You are largely correct in those assessments, but don’t always follow your instincts. Great comeback from a near wipeout.

    Ouch that AA hand. You need to dominate a big chunk of his range in order to call a massive overbet, but his bluffs have a lot of equity and it's rare to see an overvalued big pocket pair played this way. We've all been there though losing too much with an overpair in a deep stack straddled pot

      AA my read was to fold, but logic made me call. He had a ton of weaker hands he could jam with.

  • @MaydayAggro
    @MaydayAggro 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    AA: Not much you can do here. The only hand you lose to here based on the weird almost 3bet is 99. I think you have to call and then feel like a moron after. I think he'd have played the same way with TT or clubs, based on your read, and we all know yours are spot on. You only need to be right 34% of the time to come out ahead (744 x .34 - 280 x .66 = 253 - 251 = +2 EV). Don't feel stupid for making the right decision! You just hit the ABSOLUTE top of his range.
    54cc: It's not about getting someone off a flush draw. It's about making the best decision vs villain's likely range. Aggressor can have any of the overpairs, and many overcard hands. This is just about the best you can hope for holding 54s. I just x-raise.
    JJ: Two things - 1. JJ almost always just calls vs UTG PFR. 2. When it does 3bet, it cbets 100% on A23r. I would just call pre generally and play it as a good set mine unless I know this guy plays really wide from UTG.

    • @dougmccuskerpoker
      @dougmccuskerpoker  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      54 is was going to raise but the SB seemed strong. Thought it was a big draw. The aggressor would fire all blanks, there are a lot, I would raise big with one card to come. If the SB folded, I would raise the flop 100%
