As far as detecting a counterfeit paper there is no difference between my homemade bill and a counterfeit lol. Honestly tho

couple others: the "gold 20" turns from gold to green through light refraction, this section also has raised edges like the "coat". There are tiny gold 20's can be seen 4:36 mark,
If not for that pen I would never have thought the second $20 was a fake , it looked so real 🤪

Sucks I was paid by someone that gave me the method you spoke of using a washed bill with the twenty printed on it there's no water mark and on the front the two tiny numbers on the front under and above the twenty do not match. And that is what caught my eye first SUX!!!!!! and the $100 bills they have were all the way fake in so pissed!!! 😡🤬🤬🤬

Be warned that the pen method only detects starch, which does not necessarily mean that if it turns black it's counterfeit, it may be that the bill was treated with starch at some point. The bill presented at 3:00 could be legit for all we know. The pen method should be avoided.

My friend went to a gas station at 3 am before work and got some snacks. He payed in cash and they gave him change in $5 and such. Later in the day he goes to a different store and uses that $5, they tell him its fake and explained how. They didn't do anything to him expect gave him the fake money back. At my first job, We had homeless people come in and try to use the fake money all the time, we learned how to spot them and just deny money from them. Three strikes and your out.

I highly doubt you had the bill in this video lol, these pens are widely used in the service industry, so there's many many many bills with these yellow/gold markings
And the ink runs if you wet it. Just found that out today when I handed a cashier a fake $20 that I had no idea was fake. Is there anything I can do about it? Do I take it to the bank? Or just shred it?
Technically you should turn it in to the police or secret service to investigate it, but technically no one can force you to do this. I recieved a $100 bill and I notice the date on it saying July 4 1774 I never noticed that before. I ended up using the 100 at a Private club I belong to they don't check there money. not sure if it was fake. The same person who I got the 100 from ask me if i could change a 100 for her. I got very suspicious then. And looked up fake bill and it showed the date of july14 1774 circled. So told her that she pulled a real fast one on me. But she still says it's real. Please help me out.
Yes the $100 in that video was real. As far as your other questions, I really have not much of a clue. I am no currency expert, only have experience with current US Currency. Though through a quick google search shows the first United States $100 notes were issued in 1862, and the $100 Federal Reserve Note was launched in 1914. I would refer to someone with more experience with older bills like that.

@@RobSomeKnowledge 1 of my 20 dollar bills has a circle on top of the head of jackson, my other two 20 dollar bills doesn’t have it. i’ve tested every bill and it has all the features you’ve mentioned in the video. so maybe it’s real?

Yeah it’s most likely real. People draw on bills all the time. Kids etc. also people use markers on bills to tell if they are real so could be that too.
