This week's shrinemaiden.org periodic Touhou tournament special challenge: SA no bombs! Stage 4 was definitely the highlight of this run, as I did it "perfectly" (that is, no deaths and of course no bombs). Stage 3 had a pretty embarrassing mistake but whatever.

Literally every terraria boss ever
This is one of the most beautiful, epic, badass, hardest, creative, and cutest game series I've ever witness exist.
Also... Nuclear fusion in Gensokyo Hell. Win.
SA has such a different feel compared to the other games. It's really fast paced and the life system is so simple (finish spell/nonspell without dying = life piece). I hope ZUN can do a game that can top it someday, cause it's my favorite in the series.

Utsuho's attacks are just so.. mesmerizing. They distract you with big glowing things while swarming you with tiny shots. She always gives me the hardest time out of any touhou boss, except maybe Kanako, even though she really doesnt seem that difficult

Just like Dark Souls, but at least Touhou has objective difficulty inherent from being a shmup. Touhou is just easy relative to shmups, meanwhile Dark Souls is compared to casual baby games like Witcher 3 and Skyrim.
Not to mention, with a spellcard called "Border of Wave and Particle", ZUN shows he's aware of how light can act as a wave in some cases and as a particle in others.

What makes SA much harder than most Touhou games even on normal difficulty IMO is that it requires much more correct movement and pattern learning than average. Basically even playing on normal feels like you're playing an extra stage.

Utsuho's final spell is kind of like a black hole - as it gobbles up the bullets, which stand in for matter, it starts spewing out bullets, just like a black hole would spew out long jets of energy thousands of light years across. It's pretty amazing how science and touhou can compliment each other in weird ways. that no one else ever noticed.

Played IN and can 1cc it on easy even when tired/drunk
Started playing MoF yesterday and almost 1cced it on the fith attempt before the final spell card of the final boss got me.
This though I cannot even finish - and I am talking about easy mode with all of the games here.
IN: Easily stage 5 on Normal
MoF: Tricky, but make it to stage 4
This? I cannot even clear it on easy even WITH continues. Homing shit all over the place, micrododging at its finest and incredible projectile speed even at this level. Heck, the 5th boss is at around the same if not a higher level than the final bosses of the other two....
Nice job mate and congrats for avoiding bombing.
Imperishable night is also the easiest game in the series, imho.
Also a quick tip for homing bullets: If you're constantly under homing fire then you need to move as slowly as you can sideways and if you can't anymore make a quick gap by flying really fast to said side. If you did it right you made a gap and you can (slowly) dodge the homing bullets again by moving to the other side. ..I hope that my explanation was clear enough.

+Tormentor I actually struggled more with MoF easy. I could lose no lives and Virtue of the Wind God would still kill me. SA on easy was fine except stage portion of Stage 5. Fricking popcorn hell.

When they made Spiderman 3, they created new visual effects software to animate all of the grains of sand that made up the Sandman, as no existing software could handle animating that many individual objects at once.
The special effects team had clearly never played Touhou.

That red dot is the visual aid to tell you where your hitbox is. Also you're able to get a .dat file at the TouhouWiki to remove the hitbox.

Holy shit dude, this one spell card is the hardest thing I've ever seen.
It's not so hard, if you stick to the bottom then most of the stuff only comes from one side at a time. Also the bubble hitboxes are smaller than they might look.
