    Thank you for this great tutorial, I learn many things from specially starting procedure.
    What i liked in this video is the speaking is not fast and very clear words.

    Thanks for the video! I am watching a lot of videos about the DC3 and I always learn something new from each one. I had to chuckle at your landing because it looked so much like mine.

      Thanks for watching! and yes landing this bird is challenging. I'm now playing with CG to see if it has an impact

      I have tried some other labels too with the same result. Only thing I haven't checked is the CG of the aircraft. I think it needs to be tail heavy.

    Thaks for this indepth tutorial, got goosebumps all over ... things have changed since my last flight in MSFS 24 years ago.
    Just started again - flying "Old Iron" and of course the DC3 (provided by MSFS) ... not bad, not bad at all.
    But I love the sound that comes from the one you're flying, the DC3 in MSFS doesn't sound like that, (could be my ears)
    Or does your DC3 have a an other soundpack?
    Thanks again for this outstanding video, I could listen to that awesome sound all day long.

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are 2 DC3 downloads in the marketplace. Download the DC3 extended package to see if that helps with the sound, I am not sure if it has better sounds though but worth trying. I am also using this improvement mod this mod does not modify the sounds but it adds some improvements that I like. flightsim.to/file/43893/duckworks-dc-3-improvement-mod

      @@TheSimPilotTanks for your respons but I found it, fiddling around with the sound in- and output settings in "Genaral Options" solved the problem.
      However ...now I'm trying to find a way to stop flying the DC-3, can't stop listening to that beautiful sound ;)
      As soon I got this baby in control, I'm going for the DC-6 which got four of those addictive, beautiful engines ;)

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@huigsnellenburg6144 Believe it or not DC-6 is a lot easier to control. Not sure if it's due to being developed by PMDG and feels a lot more optimized or due to the aircraft itself. I had a lot of fun in the DC-6 doing some historic routes. Definitely a blast to fly these old birds and I find it more fun due to the interactions needed from the pilot compared to modern airliners.

    • @huigsnellenburg6144
      @huigsnellenburg6144 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      These modern airliners don't do it for me. I did the 767 Pilot in Comment, and back then in 1999 it was THE state of the art airliner, so basically been there, done the FMC.
      I do DCS as well and Warbirds like the Spitfire and the P-51are my favorites, also I like to fly the Huey.
      Now I'm getting my head around NeoFly in MSFS, see if I can do some Buffalo Airways stuff ;) @TheSimPilot @@TheSimPilot

    Two comments... the "radio compass" gauge is actually linked to the ADF receiver and will point to the NDB selected on the upper panel. And the lever you identify as the flap handle is in fact the engine pump selector. Just look at the indication above the lever, you will see it is marked engine pump selector.

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the clarification. I believe you'ree referring to the lever that has 2 positions. Flap lever is nthe yellow lever I believe. Maybe I made a mistake when recording the video. Also thanks for Radio Compass clarification.

    • @Gilles45
      @Gilles45 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the blue lever locks in two positions that are detailed on the placard above it. By the way, your video is the best I've seen so far on engine startup sequence. Very clearly explained, it answered some interrogations I had. Tx!

      @@Gilles45 You're very welcome. Still trying to dig some real word information to make sure I'm sharing the right information. I watch Buffalo Joe's videos who is a real life DC-3 pilot to make sure what I do aligns with real life to some extent.

    You manage to manoeuvre the camera to show the parking knob under the pedestal.
    How did you you do that!! I can't seem to get low enough to operate the parking knob.

      I used left ALT+ arrow keys to position the camera over the pedestal and down arrow to bring it to that view.

    How about that big RED light to the right in the cockpit. Do I have to lock the gear up somehow?

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think the gear in DC-6 can be locked. I have to double check though, not sure due to not using the physicla lever in the cockpit and only using a controller assignment for gear up.

    Hi there. I've been trying to get my ILS glide slope needle to work. doesn't seem to. Did you do something to make that work out? I see on everyone else's videos that they are never able to get the glide slope needle on nav 1 to work. You... for some reason have it working without fuss. How?? I'm trying to make approaches in adverse weather, but I really need that glide slope indicator

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      Really nothing special I did there other than tuning in the ILS freq. I'll do a test run tonight to see if I can identify anything I did different.

    @tfisher ปีที่แล้ว

    An excellent video, thanks. But as with all other videos on landing the DC-3, you had a very difficult time once all wheels were down. Is there something wrong with the flight model. No one seems to be able to land it cleanly?

    • @TheSimPilot
      @TheSimPilot  ปีที่แล้ว

      After this video I have changed the CG from weight and balances page to have a talk heavy aircraft. That seems to help some with at least better landings than horrible ones. Still trying to figure out the best technique but I agree this bird is hard to land and I have heard others mentioning the flight model.
