  • LG V60 vs LG V50! Showdown time! The toughest recommendation for ANY manufacturer, is a new phone improved enough to recommend flipping a one-year-old gadget? The V60 is a BEAST, but are there enough improvements here to out-muscle one of the most brutally powerful phones of 2019?

      Big question 🛡️: I'm looking to order 2nd hand phone as main camera + spare time gaming, choice between:
      Google Pixel 4
      Huawei p30
      Honor 20 pro
      Iphone SE 2020
      Samsung galaxy s10+
      Xiaomi Mi 10 Note
      LG V50 5G
      All cost where I'm now around 400-450$ as second hand. And no, no one import pixel 4 A here yet.
      How V50 compared to others on the list? What if using Gcam on v50 does it get close to iphone and pixel 4?
      Kindly help me,
      Thank you 🙏

      You're awesome! I had come conclusion time and time again that Samsung was way too expensive or not as good of a upgrade and not worth the money compared to what I will get on a LG. I was a little sad to see the g series phone leave, but the G8 was a pretty great phone to have.
      If getting about a day and a half of use out of my G8 was not enough, the audio output from the main speakers are crazy! I'm assuming it will probably be the same for the v60, but the G8 equalizer will actually boost your audio, not just tweak which sound Wave comes across stronger. I mean the LG main speakeris actually too loud if you adjust all of The equalizer settings to maximum.
      I never really cared for a quad HD display, and on my G8 I have it dialed down to the lowest resolution. And the reason is exactly for receiving higher battery life. I don't really care about putting my nose up to the screen to try to find the separate pixels. I think the v60 is on point with several things, including the lower resolution display.
      Thank you for saying a lot of what I've been telling other people about LG being a great phone compared to Samsung. Usually, the Samsung guys will tell me about some top and specs that don't make sense to me, and are specs that really don't matter to me.

      Personally I'd have taken the 1440p display with higher refresh rate. I think the dual screen concept is cool for a small number of people but that it won't appeal to most folks enough. I can see why LG did it, as they can't just keep making the same design and expect to get different results. But personally i wouldn't use the second screen much and have never felt the need for it while im making content on my V30+. I love the 1440p res on this thing and can definitely notice the difference.

    Hi Juan, I still have my LG V30 from Day 1. Had the V40 for a short while after it came out, but didn't like the notch concept (still don't, rock OP7 Pro for that reason lol).
    Is the V60 DAC Quality better or worse than it's predecessor? I'm getting more audiophile-ey and have been hearing that the V50 offered the last great Quad DAC.
    I would have kept the V30 going, but Android Pie has a bug where tracks with low bass have a a clicking sound when played...with no good custom ROM support or LG support, I'm thinking of upgrading.

Have you had a chance to test (on either phone) if you can have both Facebook and Instagram open (on each display) and use the Live function at the same time using the single front facing (and/or rear facing) camera? Some wanna stream on both platforms to reach more followers. Aside from only needing one tripod, people could mount this one device on a gimbal, for example, for smooth action streaming if this is possible. Thank you

      Yes but they will not match the high specs. They are following Google's lead and will make the g series with a mid range processor....and other mid range specs. Qualcomm's 5g modem is not integrated into the soc, so they will probably go with 785 (dont remember exact number). It has a 4g modem integrated into the soc.

    I have a few questions:
    What about the fingerprint sensor? On the V50, it was on the back and i like to use is there in my V40. But the V60 has the sensor on the display. Do you miss the sensor on the back?
    What about the ultrawide camera? Because the V30 has 13MP, the V40 and V50 has 16MP and this was an improvement. The V60 has only 13MP. I would love to see a comparison there. The 13MP has to be worse than 16MP, right? Because if you zoom in, 13MP will be worse than 16MP.
    I think the V60 now supports USB 3.1(or now 3.2) instead of the V40, right? Is there an improvement if i connect the phone to my PC and transfer files?

      It's tough. The V60 has a better camera, more power, and more up to date software. The V50 records better audio though. I'd lean V60, but for TH-cam the V50 is still solid.

    For someone looking to upgrade from a Note 8 and wanting a headphone jack, what do I need to know about the V60 dual screen case (youentioned needing an adapter?) and will my Note 8 "tuned by AKG" earbuds need to be updated to take advantage of LG's DAC?

      I have a LOT of different headphones. The thicker shielding around the plug, or the ones which use a right angle adapter need an extension cable. Something like this would probably work amzn.to/3aiRF3o
      The Samsung buds are decent starters. Pretty close to the same ballpark as LG's bullets. They're definitely some of the better performs "free with phone". I don't think folks NEED to crazy to start, but if you like In-Ear style buds, even some mid priced KZ can deliver a LOT more color than free ear buds. Somewhere between $20 and $60 and this stuff gets pretty good. amzn.to/3aqi8vS

Lol. I really want the LG v60 just because I don't already own a LG v50 and it's the last and the best of its kind! I've always been an LG phone guy versus the typical Apple or Samsung guy.
    LG made good phones for a little less versus the more popular brands and it's sad to see them step out of the cell phone game.

    • @FAT8893
      @FAT8893 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      V50's DualScreen case didn't cover the USB-C port but it didn't have symmetrical second screen and front screen. V60's DualScreen case is pretty much the same with G8X before it. You now have symmetrical screen, but it relies on the USB-C port to connect the case. So NEVER lose the magnetic adapter.

    Great Comparison Juan should have also have included in the video for people rocking older V phone users but I upgraded from the V30 and while I do miss the size of the V30 it is a great improvement the size for me its all about getting used to but overall I'm loving the V60 with all the audio goodness and the dual screen!!

  • @mistamaog
    @mistamaog 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I hesitated, but decided to pull the trigger on the V60. My hesitation was from the lack of high refresh rate, but considering I've been complaining about battery life on my phone, and the fact that many of it's competitors are dropping the headphone jack, I went and pulled the trigger. It'll be my first LG phone.
    The resolution going down doesn't bother me, because I have tested an S20 Ultra in stores and could not tell the difference between 1440p and 1080p, and that's a 6.9" display. The dual screen seems like it can be really cool for gaming. And the biggest reason I bought this phone is the BOGO deal on my carrier.
    The more I watch videos on this phone, the more I find it appealing. It's easy to complain just by looking at numbers, which I'm guilty of. But I think we're all aloud to complain when that number is pricing, and this year's Samsung phones are out of control with pricing.
    So I'm officially switching from Samsung to LG.

    • @SomeGadgetGuy
      @SomeGadgetGuy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a STONKING good deal on a BOGO. Hope you enjoy it! LG has different quirks than a Samsung, but there's a lot of fun stuff to try out too!

      Ugh I miss the V30 shape. Absolutely stunning. I hate Notches, but I can live with a little tear drop for the extra power and benefits. If you don't need this horse power though, it might be worth waiting to see how the Pixel and G9 come out. I think the bang for buck is MUCH smarter on the "premium mid range".

    • @davidrhiley
      @davidrhiley 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am sticking with my V30 because of the notch. Now I am really tempted by the Sony Xperia 1 mark II. If that phone has no glaring flaws it will be my next phone. Hope Juan gives it a fair review when it drops. I'm sure he will.
