I use wireless audio, but need that headphone jack for when traveling, recording audio, or when the battery of my wireless headphone dies. I even prefer using the AUX port in my car compared to BT since there is a perceivable quality gain.

    • @iTrinityPlays
      @iTrinityPlays 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

The gain on the aux from the Quad DAC is insane. Even more insane if your car has an amplifier to take the power the DAC throws at it.

DAC = Digital to Analog Converter. BT headphones, usb c aux adapters , and other things have a DAC to make sound from a digital source. The DAC on my LG g7 is better than the DAC on my laptop .

Btw, you CAN CUSTOMIZE the virtual controller. That and with full stylus support even with the dual screen, built-in desktop mode and the best manual controls even on video, the LG V60 is a must have phone, not just hype

Headphone jack is a great feature. My car does not have any digital connections but supports aux in. Plus most vehicles don't allow Bluetooth pairing while in motion. I live in Colorado so the hour or two drives to the mountains with no reception mean if you want a song it must be downloaded on your phone. You can't request the Bluetooth paired phone to stream it.

I Absolutely have to Agree. I Love how they point out the bar in the middle between the 2 cases yet forget the foldable screens will eventually have creases and wrinkles. I am willing to bet the LG concept will outlast the folding screens when it comes to durability and resilient. Now if we can get LG to start adding other things into their case like Stereo or Surround Sound Speakers, a Solar Charging panel, a dongle holder/ S pen holder, retractable charging cable... Something else and they would have stepped over the competition completely

For the headphone jack...yes! I still use mine all the time outside when I go to the gym. LG has proved that you don't need to get rid of the headphone jack to fit in other features, I don't understand why that's something that's a critique. I've been with LG since the V30 launched infact that's what I upgraded from when I got the V60. Personally, I don't find the camera hard to use. With LGs camera I tend to be more of a manual shooter so I guess that's why I don't see the issues. However, one thing is that LG does tend to have a much for flatter image but like 10 seconds in Snap Seed to apply just a little bit of editing really goes the distance. The face unlock thing I didn't notice since I've never really used it so I guess that's a downside, however for me I HATE the in screen fingerprint sensor. I don't know what was wrong with a normal physical one on the back, that's honestly my biggest complaint.
Honestly this thing is a gaming monster with it'd dual screen. The controller can be 100% fully customized AND you can make your own controller layout for really any game. There are a few little oddities depending on the game. For example Arena of Valor you aren't able to aim your abilities, the game uses this long press into slide/rotate move (like it's a button AND joystick), and the controller can't replicate that, or at least I haven't been able to figure out how to do that with the custom controller. Where this thing really shines is with Steam Link! OMG being able to play some of my Steam games on my phone is nuts, games like TemTem play amazing and feel so natural, and steam just treats the LG gamepad app as a wireless controller it's amazing.
This phone is wildly underrated and I really wish LG would just spend a couple bucks and market this thing. Yeah it's a 1080p screen...but Samsung uses the same resolution when you turn on the high refresh rate option. Sure the auto mode isn't the best, but it's manual photo and video controls are second to none. There's nothing on the market that even comes close to it's audio prowess, and you get S20 Ultra battery size, with a longer battery life because it's focused more on every day actions. It's one of the most powerful phones on the market. An entertainment dream and a production powerhouse all in one package. That also can have S-Pen like functionality if you get something like a Wacom Bamboo stylus. V60 a masterclass in essentials.

@@twany442 I mean maybe if Andriod manufacturers used the simular tech that Apples Face Unlock system had I'd be a bit more open to it. However, it's been proven to be less secure and that's not a compromise I'll ever be willing to make. Fingerprints can't really be spoofed so I'm okay with that. I just wish I could do something about the in screen sensor, it's just a worse option compared to a physical sensor.

The headphone jack is a must if you're a heavy mobile gamer who plays competitive games like CoD Mobile, PUBG Mobile, Fortnite, etc. because there's a significant delay in sound (when you use bluetooth earphones) and that costs alot in gameplay especially when identifying directional audio, and the headphone jack is one of the answers for lagless audio.

dude the audio difference from my LG g6 over the airpods pro to the the audio i am getting out of the same airpods pro on my lg v60 is insanely different, the v60 has louder and better audio its just crazy i never thought that bluetooth headphones could sound so differently just based on the phone streaming the audio... i guess i just never considered it, but wow, night and day difference, makes me love the airpod pros even more.

I'm thinking of upgrading from my Note 9 to this. New Samsung flagships are just crazily expensive and they've dropped things like the headphone jack and microSD in some models. The dual screen seems really appealing to me as a gamer and for multitasking and streaming! I tend to like have something streaming while web browsing. But I'm not sure if to stick it out another year or two with my Note 9, as it still works pretty well.

    Must have features for me
    1) good camera + long battery
    2) decent 6-8gb and decent CPU, who need 12GB or 16GB on their phone? My laptop for work is using only 8Gb ram. My desktop cpu for gaming is 6 year old, i7 4790k.
    3) large storage + SD card expansion = everybody take picture and video with phone.
    4) large screen and good screen to body ratio. Google phone is bad with screen ratio.
    5) upgrade android for at least one generation so at least support android 11. I have a LG v30 and it still android 9. I currently use pixel 2 xl, i like the monthly update.
    6) low price, i buy used phone, i am not going to spend > $400 on any phone. Last time i got new phone is about 5 year ago.
    Nice to have
    1) 90/120 and qhd screen. I am watching your video on 480p resolution. It's good enough for me.
    2) audio jack
    3) wireless charging
    4) face unlock/fingerprint = corporate email will disable face unlock and fingerprint anyway
    5) loud/front speaker. Why do reviewer keep testing phone speaker? Who listen to music at work or home using their phone speaker? Your phone is not a boombox.

    Yes, we need the jack.
I use plenty of wireless solutions but the wired headset is just a failsafe solution for nearly any situation, particularly for monitoring sound levels on a video! LG does that, you know.

  • @waldonatorgr984

    Aux pros:
No battery required, wired always is the higher quality no matter how good wireless gets (at least not for awhile), HiFi quality (maybe MQA later), charge battery while connected to aux, many companies still sell and will continue to sell aux headphones/earphones for a good while.
Wireless pros: no wires so freedom to move, that's really just it.
Plus, the V60 has both wired and Bluetooth options at a good price: Unless wireless passes audio quality against wired, that's when we won't need a headphone jack, but until then, Bluetooth is second rate quality.

  • @Tsuinami4

Really enjoyed how you highlighted the practical aspects of the V60
As someone who owns the V30, the only thing that is holding me back from upgrading to the V60 is LG's camera software. LG has good camera hardware, but their software limits the picture quality in auto mode, making them over exposed and grainy at times. From what I seen, the V60 seems to suffer the same issues of it's predecessors. The GCAM does improve this, but it's still frustrating knowing that the camera hardware is held back by it's software. I really wish LG would address that...
Otherwise, this seems like a great phone, especially for the price. Thanks for the review!

By chance were those two games emulated console games? A huge selling point for this phone would be if the dual screen would allow virtual controllers when playing emulators and if it could mimic a say Nintendo 3ds experience.

  • @TheMatsushitaMan

The headphone jack is important. Bluetooth delivers poor sound quality compared to the headphone jack DAC (even in my older V40)
A 3.5mm to RCA cable is cheaper than buying a Bluetooth adapter for connecting to hi-fi speaker systems. And sounds much better too.
    3
However at 3:24, "DAC" is not a word.
It's pronounced as each individual letter, like "D-A-C"
Apart from that, I really enjoyed watching the whole video.

the headphone jack is an essential element, I can never justify the purchase of any smartphone without it. it's still bizarre that some actually attempt to argue that wireless is "better", when phonemakers exclusively omit the jack to force upsell their own wireless equipment.
there are many circumstances where wireless headphones are invaluable, but sound quality and synchronization between audio and video will always suffer under wireless use.

By the way, when you wear a mask, you're supposed to bend the little metal strip inside the top part to contour around your nose. That way you get a better seal.

i bought the lgv30 because of the Dac and i woud buy the v60 if i break my v30 and need a new phone (but i hope i can have it for a view more years)
