It's funny that the limit of technology at the time forced them to have fewer characters, then they had to flesh out all the characters. They had to have good character writing to maintain the show. Transformers really needs that kind of writing to better drive toy sales. We buy the characters we love.
It's because of how great the characters are that the series is as great as it is, even by today's standards. There are so many characters that are all memorable for different reasons, and some have even went on to become fan favorites as well. It's definitely where the series shines the most prominently, in my opinion
G1 had almost twice as many episodes, but still managed to devote single episodes to a number of characters up until season 3 at least, despite having probably 100 more characters on the show over the 3/4 seasons. Beast Machines undid pretty much undid all the character development from everyone on Beast Wars.
I am a child of the beast wars. I heard of the "great war" many times as a kid durring the show and when I finally discovered torrenting back in the day watching the original G1 series was like discovering old war documents. Its one of my fondest memories. My favorite episode is "aftermath."
I admit, I did not watch the Beast Wars series until 2018, after being a Transformers fan since 2003, but it only took one binge watch of the whole series for me to become an instant Beast Wars fanatic. Thank you for this retrospective of arguably one of the best Transformers series RodimusPrimal.
I've been a Transformers fan since I was born (2003), but I never gave the show a chance until this year, and man do I love Beast Wars. Hell, I'm even hooked on the Japanese sequel series Beast Wars II and Neo! Though I can't say I'm as passionate about Beast Machines...
@@NovasPizza You have the right attitude. BW, BWII, and BW Neo are all fantastic series, and BM is a dud. :P Its regarded as the all time worst Transformers series, sometimes tying with Energon.
Am I the only one who wished that everyone in the show got the Transmetal upgrade? Waspinator would become a jet, Rhinox could become an ATV, and Terrosaur would become a VTOL jet. But no, sadly it was just the toys.
I wasn't a fan of the Transmetals. I thought it would have been better if they got alternate beast modes instead. Cheetor becoming a sabretooth tiger (but not in the way his TM2 for looked), Rattrap a bat, Optimus a white lion ( like his japan counter part) Megatron into a wooly mammoth (like part of his japan counter part Gigatron had) and so on.
I just finished introducing my girlfriend to the Beasts just a few days ago. She went in only knowing Transformers from the Bay films (before I introduced her to Prime) and fell in love with the cast of Wars/Machines. She cried as Dinobot died, she swooned at the romance of Silverbolt and Blackarachnia and again seeing their romance rhymed in Machines (when BA saved SB from being a villain like he had saved her). In my mind, that says so much. She looks forward to watching both series again eventually.
I absolutely love, how Optimus Primal answers with his typical, normally sarcastic catchphrase, when he changes to "Optimal Optimus" after taking Prime's spark into his body. Cheetor: "Bigbot? H-how do you feel?" Primal (standing up with heavy machine noises): "In a word? PRIME!" Oh, and the really hilarious moment, when Rhinox asks Primal, if he remembers the Transwarp-explosion, Primal died in at the end of season 1. Primal: "So, what is it?" Rhinox: "Remember that Transwarp cell explosion?" Primal: - - - Rhinox: "OK, stupid question..." Yes, I LOVE Beast Wars. If they would update the graphics, but maintain every dialogue, I'd buy it at once again! Edit (just stumbled upon my own comment 😅): My most favorite dialogue between Primal and Megatron in the very last episode: Megatron (citing from the covenant of Primus): "And there came a hero, who said: hurt not the earth, nor the sea, nor the breeze, nor the very fabric of time. But the hero would not prevail." Primal: "Finish the quote Megatron. Nor would he surrender." Funny thing is, I'm from Germany, we only got the first season and the other two never got on our market, so there's of course no german synchronization of the 2nd an 3rd (which somehow ist better, the pun with the word "prime" wouldn't work in my language, although the german voice actors did a pretty good job in the first season), so I discovered the other two seasons, when I was in my late 20's. I'm glad, I had to watch them in english. And it somehow closes the circle, I learned english mainly, because I stood up Sundays at 6 am, when I was about 8 - 10 years old in the 80's (something I'd never do nowadays 🤣), so I could watch the G1 cartoon on an english TV channel and deduced, what the characters said and did (and some words are similar to the german language). And Beast Wars felt to me, like it was made exactly for fans, who grew up with it, the episode with Starscream's ghost was the first one that blew my mind and it never disappointed me.
God, I had forgotten about Primal Rage. Kind of glad Primal and Megatron were reworked as a Gorilla and a T-Rex, the Bat and Alligator just seems weird now. I loved this show at first sight, I adored it. The story was great, animation was revolutionary (at the time) and the voice acting was perfect. Dinobot was an instant recipient of my adoration. Airazor became my favorite. When they started with the G1 reference I became obsessed with them. And when Ravaged showed up I fangasmed. Code of heroes is the best episode, Dinobot delivers the best comeback 'A warrior still' and then dies to make us cry. That show really did save Transformers for me. Great review Rodimus Primal, you nailed it.
"Tell my tale to those who ask. Tell it truly, the ill deeds along with the good, and let me be judged accordingly. The rest... is silence." That was the first time and one of the only times a show made me cry to this day. I also cried like a baby at the end of Gundam 08th MS Team when it first aired, that will always be the best cry of my life lmao. I'm convinced that only a sociopath couldn't be moved by that show.
The original G1 cartoon will always have a special place in my heart but Beast Wars for me will always be my favourite Transformers series because it wasn't afraid to go dark and kill off characters plus they kept both teams small which enabled you to not only connect with everyone better but it made for better overall storytelling. 3 seasons of epicness from start to finish Side note: I highly recommend everyone watch the 'Code Of Hero' episode from season 2, it's not only the most epic but it's the most emotional.
While I do recommend people watch Code of Hero, I think watching all of Beast Wars up to that point makes it even more emotional. Beast Wars is definitely my number 2 show, next to G1 of course.
I didnt like dinobot threw out the show but when i watched code of hero i teared up turns out i didnt know how much i liked dinobot till his sacrifice.
What made Beastwars great were the characters and stories! You loved hearing Megatron " YEESSS" as much as you'd love Wapinator getting smashed or Primal saying " Well that's just Prime." It was lightening in a bottle and only got better as the episodes progressed! Fantastic voice talent, memorable lines and unforgettable story moments that makes this series more than worthy in any Trasformers Hall of Fame!
I loved Beast Wars. It made the transformers feel more real and shown them to have feelings. I loved the episode Season 2 | Episode 10 with Transmutate. I had my heart break when I heard "Friend… good. Friend… dark. I… am… hurt." I yelled NOOOOoooo.
Beast Wars fan here since 1997. My favorite cartoon show (alongside Batman the animated series and later Aeon Flux). I had a large collection of Beast Wars figures, those were the only toys I was interested in and even had the videogame. It was an outstanding show, it respected the audience and gave us memorable characters.
I've never laughed at any Transformers video on TH-cam until "BEASTIES!!" I almost choked on what I was eating. It even had that same intensity as "BEAST WARS!!"
Ngl I was one of those people who was resistant to beast wars at first. I always like generation one better and I honestly still do but over the years I sort of warmed up to it. Yeah of course I like the old style of transformers of having to transform into vehicles but you know having them transform into animals is a nice change of pace. To be honest I don't know why disliked it at first anyways since they're already were technically animal transformers in generation 1 (the dinobots and the insecticons). If Frank welker can't voice Megatron then David Kay sure can. Yessss....
Beast War was my first Transformers series ever. I remember got out school and watched the first episode thought this is awesome. Beast Wars introduced me to G1 I grown love it much as I love BW.
Reboot was great too. but Beast Wars was awesome. I remembered getting to play the PS2 game and being mesmerized by how close (it appeared) to the show models (the wonders of how a child brain added details. haha)
@@great159rime is very well done, and due to technology looks better. but you do have to hand it to beast wars for looking pretty good even after all this time
Beast wars was my first introduction to transformers and G1 was my older brothers. By the time season 2 finale aired on tv here in Canada, we were both hooked. Inferno was definitely my favorite. Calling Megatron a Queen is legendary🤣
That is correct. If not for Beast Wars, Transformers may have been struggling for revival to the 21st Century. My most favourite arcs on BW were the Agenda 1-3 Arc + Optimal Situation and the Nemisis 1-2 Arc.
I remember watching this every morning in 1996 before going to school. I even have my old optional Optimus action figure still my favorite transformer toy my favorite episode, would have to be the agenda trilogy even though season one had probably the best episodes and the best one liners from rat trap I still have the entire series on DVD and every so often I pop them in and rewatch them because the writing was just so good. Still holds up to this day even better than that Netflix series that’s on right now.
Beats Wars was the series that got me into the Transformers series. Dinobot is my all time favorite Transformer. i love the idea of seeing the decendents of the Autobots and Decpitons going to war and the reason for their beast modes is an interesting one. in my own opinion i feel this is one of the best Transformers series. MAXIMAL FOR LIFE!!!!
Screw those who say it's stupid for Transformers to transform into animals! When the show connects to G1 later you'd realize that Hasbro had a great excuse for doing that!
@@matthewreynoso6904 Personally, I liked that in Beast Wars, they transformed into animals, being an animal lover myself. It was also my introduction to the series at large, and I have always looked back at it fondly, especially when I see how much praise it receives today. It makes me realize how great the series truly was, it's been a beloved fan favorite for many, myself included, and I'm happy to learn that it still manages to hold up even to this day!
@@matthewreynoso6904 It doesn't connect to any specific "G1" material. The show is a mixture of the original show and comics. In a nutshell Beast Wars is a continuity mess.
I seen the show when I was eight years old on transformers sites on my old computer and later saw it online show sites when I got older and in high school. Also seeing the footage of g1 gets to smile. But God dam so I like Beast wars that show has to be my favorite show.
Most people don't know is that Mainframe wasn't always given the new forms for the maximals and predacons till later. Which is why Optimus Primal didn't come back till episode 3 of the second season. Also why Transmetal 2 cheetor and Dinobot till the halfway point of season 3 and transmetal 2 Megatron, blackaracnia and Tigerhawk. If they had gotten some pictures of them earlier these variations wouldn't have been added near the end of the series but earlier. Also may have extended season 3 a little.
Optimus Primal was very different type of leader than Optimus Prime. Prime was more of a born leader + warrior king. Primal was really not used to being the leader and he was more of a scientist. Over time, Primal learned how to lead and fight, but he never quite became a hardened warrior, always exhibiting a softer side.
Agreed. Plus, his beast mode of a warm-blooded mammal made him more ‘human’ than robotic. He had the warmth and compassion to be huggable and tolerant, and the determination, strength and optimism to be a successful leader. He was younger, inexperienced and humble. Just all around great development for a character up against such a cunning and merciless Predacon leader like Megatron.
I missed out on Beast Wars initially. It came out just after I was born. Beast Machines had taken over by the time I was able to consciously watch TV. That was my introduction to the Transformers. After that I'd caught the bug. I grabbed tubi up last month and when I saw Beast Wars AND Beast Machines I dove in head-first. I dare say, Mainframe's animations hold up better 30 years later than most newer series. Fight me.
That's just dandy! ~Rhinox I loved Beast Wars as a kid. To see the connection to G1 was great. So many great episodes with an array of emotions. Dinobot's death was one I look up time to time when I feel the need to rewatch some of the series, or if I need a good laugh, I rewatch Rhinox's infected episode from season 1. I still have quite a few of the toys and let my son play with them. He enjoys hearing about and watching the series.
I have to say, Beast Wars is a great cartoon and also Dinobot is something I would call “layers”. Meaning that he has character development. And also serves as a Transformers version of Teen Titans.
Beast Wars the TV show and Beast Machines the TV show are collectively known as the TRUE Transformers: Generation 2 TV show because in the Beast Wars and Beast Machines TV shows, the Maximals are the descendants of the Autobots and the Predacons and Vehicons are the descendants of the Decepticons. And both of the TV shows had connections to the G1 cartoon and the '86 G1 movie.
I LOVED Beast Wars, and I am an early 80s Baby. I learned how to set-up Timed Recordings on my VHS so I wouldn't miss an episode. I have no idea how many times I have rewatched this series throughout my life, and that includes multiple times on VHS.
"Hello there! I recently stumbled upon this channel and was pleasantly surprised. I was one of the artists on BW! Beast Wars did something lacking in other series: fleshed out characters, developed personalities with room to grow or falter, life, death and evolution is inherit to each individual and group and each leader is capable of failing. I was 18 when G1 premiered, watched the movie first run and questioned what were they thinking with some latter series.
Wow!!! Just binged all seasons on disc a month ago. The quality and intelligence of the show was grossly underrated. thanks for the anniversary info. Doesn’t seem like 25 years.
"Look down in the sky! Is it a bird?" "Maybe a plane?" "No, It's OPTIMUS!" This show had so many references to other series, and so many built in adult jokes. I grew up with G1, but was so charged to find Beast Wars that I bought the entire series on DVD and my daughter and I watched it over and over again. (After watching it air for the first time through together on tv.) And as of this week I have the ENTIRE Maximal collection of toys of the first 5 plus Air Razor all from the new Kingdom show coming. I also got Megatron...yes....
@@RodimusPrimalI don’t think I watched a whole lot of G1, but I remember the Dinobots. But being myself a Canadian, Beasties was likely pushed as CanCon, right after ReBoot. After getting lost in Vancouver, I once actually found myself standing right outside the Mainframe studios. Being myself living right on the border, I had Beast Wars AND Beasties airing at the same time, so I can never remember which one was Canadian. The name ‘Wars’ should give it away, but I’ll forget soon enough, lol
I LOVED Beast Wars when it was on & I also loved Beast Machines. I cried during "Code of Hero" when Dinobot died because Rat Trap lost his best arguing partner. I mean sure, he squabbled with Silberbolt aka Bird Dog, but nothing can compare to the banter he had with Chopper-Face. If I had to pick a favorite episode it would be a toss-up between "The Low Road" where Rat Trap & Dinobot had to get the energon discharge virus & they had some of the best bickering going on, & the other was "The Spark" where Rhinox risked his own spark to sve Airazor. I also enjoyed "The Spark" because I know that episode by heart, so if I have trouble sleeping I say the 1st few lines of that episode out loud & hear the rest of the episode in my head & it helps me get to sleep.
i hope waspinator becomes a maximal in a future beast wars series, i hope tigatron, airazor, and tigerhawk become separate characters in a future beast wars series, i hope sentinel primal, rodimus primal/rodimal rodimus, nemesis primal/nemepal, nemesis, galvatron, toxitron, megatronus/megatronus primal, the 13 primals, megaempress, and toxiempress appears in a future beast wars series
Waspinator deserves more respect, I never thought the character was stupid but enjoyed the way he complained; "Oh sure, don't mind Wazzpinator. Wazzpinator just lie here and suffer, drag himself to CR tank." It was almost like he was the Transformers version of Deadpool, but I would have liked to see him get something better than the way he was cheated out of a "happy ending" with Beast Machines; "Yes, Wazzpinator had plans....Took forever but way worth it."
Beast Wars Transformers is how you do a sequel series! With great characters and some great stories to go along with them, along with the most important thing, something that Hollywood for the most part forgot: respecting what came before! Hollywood please, do yourself a favor for once in this decade and TAKE SOME NOTES! Otherwise, Japan's going to beat you again and again.
I grew up with Beast Wars. I loved how there was a story to it and enjoyed it. seeing the reruns of G1 I couldn't understand what was going on because I couldn't guarantee we saw them in order. later found out that was how the G1 series was. I think the beast wars was a BIG help. it provided the concept that there could be a plot that spanned multiple episodes, even over a season or two. let alone all the lore they added/refined
The last five episodes of season 2 are probably the best 2 hours of Transformers ever put to screen. Code of Hero, Transmutate, The Agenda. Fantastic episodes!
I got Transformers Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Dinobot when I was in Elementary. I started watching Beast Wars and I still have Beast Wars 10th Anniversary Dinobot toy.
Yes I loved Beast Wars and when they made the connection to G1, I could not wait until Season 3 came on to show the date of what Beast Wars Megatron had done to the greatest leader G1 Optimus Prime!!!!!!
I was to young for G1 and G2. But Beast Wars blow my mind. Was like love a first sight. Still a great show it may deserve a remaster with the original audio. Just updated 3D model. My fav episode was when dinobot passaway. Was really sad.
I love you for referencing Primal Rage. Love that game. Anyway, Beast Wars was my introduction to Transformers. I didn't know Optimus Prime as a kid, just Optimus Primal. I also wish they added more dinosaur Maximals.
I loved Beast Wars omg the entire seasons were so funny it good they added some humor into the mix especially with Megatron always talking to himself lol. I would say by far my favorite max and pred were Waspinator and Rat Trap. Waspinator was hilarious. I wish there was a more backstory to Weapon X aka Rampage heck he and Depth Charge were so powerful. The graphics for it's time were amazing.
I was introduced to Beast Wars in its 10th anniversary, when I was 10 back in 2006. And still to this day, it remains one of my most favorite transformers series of all time.
I was 4, almost 5 when Beast Wars ended. I had remember watching reruns and even getting excited for Beast Machines, which I didn't even watch. I also had two of the toys. Rhinox and Waspinator. I may have grew up on the Unicron Trilogy, but Beast Wars was my start, and holds a special place in my heart.
Great Video. I never disliked BW, but just kind of waited to see where it went. As they slowly hinted at its connectivity to the original series, my fondness for the show grew. The Agenda is my favorite set of episodes. Tigatron/Tigerhawk was my favorite character. I also joined the community online. First alt.toys.transformers, then BW anonymous fan fiction site, then finally to Ben Yees message board. I still remember emailing Larry DiTillio, and he answered them all, a consumate professional. I also had the honor of being the first online on Ben Yees message board to post the Season 3 episode list as it was revealed at Botcon 98, my first TF convention.
@@RodimusPrimal BW was my #2 for the longest time behind G1. But Prime I think outranks it now just by the slimmest margin, although I never had any of the Prime toys, that series is amazing.
Beast Wars was the definitive transformers series for me. I was a kid and I didn't even know anything about the G1. It's still the definitive transformers for me
If you love Beast Wars, I highly recommend going back and watching the original cartoon. It will help with the context of a lot of what happens in Beast Wars. I love both shows as my top 2.
Every Transformers show IS and always will be a toy commercial. Beast Wars is no exception. The introduction of Transmetals, Fuzors, Optimal Optimus, Tigerhawk. All of it was done because Hasbro/Kenner wanted those toys sold. It's not different in other Transformers shows. This isn't to say they are bad, just that you have to call a spade a spade.
@RodimusPrimal yes, but the cgi budget stuff in combinaton with the merch angle led to a limited cast that could die at any time instead of transformers cast of infinite forgettable guys who existed more explicitly as a means of selling toys. There is a difference
I have to admit being a hard-core g1 fan I never wanted to give beastwars the time of day. Due to you , PPR , and the "slag podcast " talking so highly of Beastwars I decided to give it a chance , and I really am surprised that I liked it so much ! You guys were right and I was even dead set against buying the kingdom Beastwars stuff . Guess what I own them all and I absolutely love that Megatron and am hoping they do more with Beastwars ! Great retrospective !
I was curious about the show and watched it as a kid and utterly fell in love with it. I followed it as best I could and yeah the Dinobot episode was one of the best written episodes of the whole show. `It really showed us just powerful of a warrior he could be, Diobot's conviction and his sense of honor were always his best and at times his worst traits. His final lines about how let the good be taken with the bad and let history makes it's own judgements was just heart wrenching. I was more shocked when I first saw this as a kid/teenager, but now that I'm older I can fully appreciate this scene for what it truly is. His final words show just how much of a character they put into him. "And the rest is silence." It's also an amusing point of fact that the very FIRST Transformer inducted into the Hall of Fame, was none other than Waspinator. The lovable goof who always got blown up every episode yet would always rise to do battle once more. It's a fun fact that the reason he always got blown up was because of the weird way they had to animate him, so they got him off screen as quickly as possible. They hated having to animate him, yet the character grew on them so much that when networks came to sit down to give them their wish of killing off the good ole bug, they actually said that the character had grown on them and they wanted to keep him. As you can imagine the studio was a bit shocked but relented and in turn we got Terrosoar and Scopinoack killed off instead. Also Waspinator got the best ending of all the Predacons. His final line as he was being honored by the proto-humans best surmises it. *takes a sip* "Ahhh Waspinator is Happy." Hands down one of the best Transformers series out there. Very well written with both it's silly moments and serious moments. It was a fun ride from start to finish. Which is why I'm glad for Christmas three years ago a friend of mine got me the complete series collection on dvd.
Yes, Beast Wars was my first introduction to Transformers as far as story. I love the series. I'm currently rewatching the Series on Tubi. I was never really interested in the original toyline though, but because of Kingdom I now own every character they've released from the first season! The new figures are great, I'm so happy I got them! Please Hasbro, dont stop!
I am a G1 fan but the stories in Beast Wars were written way better than the original animated series. loved the BW series. amazing cliffhangers every year.
Still my favorite show. I saw it in sixth grade and had never seen anything with so much character development and lore before. No transformers show or movie has ever lived up to this show since.
I love freaking people out by telling them that the Earth used to have two moons with one of them being an alien weapon that exploded which is the cause of our current moon having so many craters.
I love Beast Wars.. I just rewatched the whole thing recently and that Dinobot episode mentioned is my favorite. Now, I'm gonna give Beast Machines that shot...
My first and favorite transformers series, before When I was kid didn’t watch g1 Transformers realizing later they were connected in grade school days now that I under stand it better, I was pretty stupid growing up.
It's not connected to the original Transformers show or comics. Beast Wars is a mixture of G1 comics and show which results in a mess of a show continuity wise.
This show started it all for me. Regretfully I gave most of my collection away to a younger member of the family because I was in my "I need to grow up now" phase, but i kept my Optimal Optimus and T2 Megs though.
I still remember the morning, when I was about 15, when I saw "The Trigger: Part 1" and saw Tigatron transform. As a G1 fan seeing a transformer for the first time in ~7 years on TV, my jaw dropped...as it did again just like Ravage seeing G1 Megatron's cameo. I willingly opened my fan heart to the show earlier on than other fans and I even give it credit for refreshing the Transformers and adding additions, like sparks, that make sense.
The one thing I wish happened was that they would have saved Terrorsaur's and Skorponok's deaths so that they could have been killed by Dinobot during his last stand, it would have felt more just to Dinobot I think.
It's funny that the limit of technology at the time forced them to have fewer characters, then they had to flesh out all the characters. They had to have good character writing to maintain the show. Megatron (citing from the covenant of Primus): "And there came a hero, who said: hurt not the earth, nor the sea, nor the breeze, nor the very fabric of time. But the hero would not prevail."
Primal: "Finish the quote Megatron. Nor would he surrender."
Funny thing is, I'm from Germany, we only got the first season and the other two never got on our market, so there's of course no german synchronization of the 2nd an 3rd (which somehow ist better, the pun with the word "prime" wouldn't work in my language, although the german voice actors did a pretty good job in the first season), so I discovered the other two seasons, when I was in my late 20's.
So true!

The rest... is silence."
That was the first time and one of the only times a show made me cry to this day.
3 seasons of epicness from start to finish
Side note: I highly recommend everyone watch the 'Code Of Hero' episode from season 2, it's not only the most epic but it's the most emotional.
While I do recommend people watch Code of Hero, I think watching all of Beast Wars up to that point makes it even more emotional. Beast Wars is definitely my number 2 show, next to G1 of course.
RodimusPrimal I love Beast Wars ever since watching the episode that first explains this as a sequel to G1!
I didnt like dinobot threw out the show but when i watched code of hero i teared up turns out i didnt know how much i liked dinobot till his sacrifice.
@@RodimusPrimal razorbeast and iguanes should have been in the show
I remember that when Ravage transformed, the fact of hearing again the classic transformation sound made me feel very nostalgic and happy.
Megatron's 'Yes'😄.We must give all our belongings the Rod Royalty.
Thank you for the shout-out Royalty.
I… am… hurt."
I yelled NOOOOoooo.
This brings back memories. God, I miss television.

Yessss....
I would watch “Beast Wars”, “Mummies Alive!” & “Gargoyles” every high school morning, from 1994 til 1998, all having awesome stories...🤓
Beast War was my first Transformers series ever. I remember got out school and watched the first episode thought this is awesome. Beast Wars introduced me to G1 I grown love it much as I love BW.
The most computer animated masterpiece ever born!
Reboot was great too. but Beast Wars was awesome. I remembered getting to play the PS2 game and being mesmerized by how close (it appeared) to the show models (the wonders of how a child brain added details. haha)

Beast Wars is why i'm a transformers fan to this day. Dinobot is still my favorite nearly cried as a kid when he died rip brave warrior.
Go watch g1, including the animated movie dividing the series.
Beast wars was my first introduction to transformers and G1 was my older brothers. By the time season 2 finale aired on tv here in Canada, we were both hooked. Inferno was definitely my favorite.
Calling Megatron a Queen is legendary🤣
I consider Beast Wars the best Transformers series. It's a great piece of work
Personally it's my number 2 next to G1. Great series indeed.
I enjoyed Beast Wars, and my very first online purchase back in 2000, was TM2 Blackarachnia. I was a high school senior when the series first aired.
@@matthewreynoso6904 It doesn't connect to any specific "G1" material. The show is a mixture of the original show and comics. In a nutshell Beast Wars is a continuity mess.
Matthew Kuscienko Me too!
Hell Yeah @ Dinobot being the no.1 Transformer of all time! Definitely my favorite Transformers show of all time as well!
Beast Wars is how I was introduced to Transformers
I just rewatched the series. It holds up extremely well.

@@PrimalParodies beast wars 🦍🦖
Optimus Primal was very different type of leader than Optimus Prime. Prime was more of a born leader + warrior king. Primal was really not used to being the leader and he was more of a scientist. Over time, Primal learned how to lead and fight, but he never quite became a hardened warrior, always exhibiting a softer side.
Aspects that were passed on to and improved in TF Animated's Optimus.
Not going to lie, having grown up with Animated and TF Prime i still appreciate beast wars, it's just hysterical and also serious when it needs to.
Beast Wars still has the best designs. Even the color scheme is on point.
Fight me.
I'm currently rewatching the series on Tubi. It was one of my favorite cartoons growing up.
Beast Wars! ✊🦍
That's just dandy! ~Rhinox
I loved Beast Wars as a kid.
@Steven x Spinel Lover Arcee, the Prime version
Beast Wars the TV show and Beast Machines the TV show are collectively known as the TRUE Transformers: Generation 2 TV show because in the Beast Wars and Beast Machines TV shows, the Maximals are the descendants of the Autobots and the Predacons and Vehicons are the descendants of the Decepticons. And both of the TV shows had connections to the G1 cartoon and the '86 G1 movie.
I just wish Beast Machines was a little bit better.

This show was amazing. I was pissed when dinobot died, but at least he goes out like an absolute boss.
Waspinator as anything other than a bumbling Predacon idiot is a sin against Primus. Not prime, not prime at all.
I absolutely love beast wars, definitely in my top three favorite transformers stories along with Transformers Prime and the IDW comics.

Wow! That's certainly a deep connection indeed! It's my second favorite next to G1 for sure!

@RodimusPrimal I've seen enough by this point to know the broad strokes and specific references but the show is way too much of a toy commercial

"And the rest is silence."
It's also an amusing point of fact that the very FIRST Transformer inducted into the Hall of Fame, was none other than Waspinator. *takes a sip* "Ahhh Waspinator is Happy."
Hands down one of the best Transformers series out there. Very well written with both it's silly moments and serious moments. It was a fun ride from start to finish. Which is why I'm glad for Christmas three years ago a friend of mine got me the complete series collection on dvd.

We need a new Beast Wars show.
We are getting Kingdom.
Beast Wars Transformers was what introduced me to Transformers and I thought it was good to connect to G1. Awesome show.
So happy that this legendary show is finally getting the love it has deserved for so long this year.
The one thing I wish happened was that they would have saved Terrorsaur's and Skorponok's deaths so that they could have been killed by Dinobot during his last stand, it would have felt more just to Dinobot I think.
That would have been better. Apparently they planned on having Terrorsaur have his Transmetal form but they chose to spare Waspinator instead.
