Very helpful, Ford. I haven't tried satin floss yet and I'm so glad I saw your video before I did. I'm sure you have saved me a lot of trouble. Thank you!
So glad you can learn from my mistakes! One of my first projects I decided to "enhance" it by adding satin floss, and it was a nightmare because I hadn't learned any of this yet. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the tips! Haven't been a fan of this stuff, but I want to use it on some projects and I'm trying to learn more about it. Also, made me happy to find a fellow cross stitcher who's rockin' a beard with a handlebar mustache. Don't think there are too many of us out there haha :D
Hi Ford I'm quite new to this channel, and I'm really enjoying all the tips and tricks that you share, so thank you very much. I recently watched one of your flosstubes where you mentioned a particular type of pencil that was suitable for fabric and easily washed out. Would you be so kind as to tell me what these pencils are again, please? Thank you.
Yes, these were water soluble fabric pencils, sometimes called marking pencils. The ones I use are from Dritz and can be found at a craft or quilting store! thanks for watching!
Own quite a few satin threads but was frustrated when I first stitched with them so they have been packed away. Will pull them out again and try them using your tips 😊
Yeah the bobbins are a real struggle for any of the non-cotton flosses. I used StitchBows with them and they worked well, I just didn't like how much space the binder took up. Thanks for watching!
I have a question ... when you're stitching with satin floss, could you use one strand of satin floss and one stand of regular floss to stabilize the satin strand? Thanking you in advance.
I'm sure you could, especially since the satin colors all have a corresponding color in the regular cotton floss. I am not sure what the effect would be though. If you try it, make sure to let us know of your findings! Thanks for watching!

Great to hear that you found this useful! Fords beard is amazing isn't it!
Not a lot, which is why we gotta let our freak flag fly! I especially like to stitch in public and watch people do double-takes. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for the ironing tip. I never would have thought about that!!! Awesome video as always!
Thank you for watching - we're glad to hear you found it useful :)

A new stitcher question. Do you use 2 strand or 1 mixed with a regular floss. I am using S666 but wasn’t sure how to use this.
Thanks for the tips ❤ would like to know if there is any other good way to store satin/silky floss? Im not a huge fan of bobbins 😅
