I have used the blending filaments kreinik for some Teresa Wentzel patterns I did. That pattern called for 2 strands of the filament with 1 strand of DMC. It worked beautifully. Yes on occasion the filament might break, but using shorter pieces helped with that. Not being in a hurry is the best bet when using that product. Threading the needle was the most difficult aspect of working with the 2 filaments and 1 strand of DMC. Thank you for the video.

Blending filament gives such a pretty effect...it's worth the extra hassle, but it sounds like you figured out how best to tackle it 😄 I'm glad you enjoyed the video 😊

I've only stitched with metallic thread once and it was brutal!! I'm working on a few projects now that I want to put some sparkle into, so I'm definitely going to try to get something different than the DMC metallic. Thank you for sharing this information!!😊

So glad I could help and I think you'll find a big difference between different metallic brands. I hope you find something you like because it is nice to add a bit of sparkle ✨😄

It was very helpful because I wanted to try using a bit of sparkle thread, but I read how terrible it is to stitch with these threads. Thank you for the explanation and recommendations.

I am working on my first Bella Filipina, which uses Kreinik #4 but it doesn't tell me how many threads to use, I am really very confused, any advise would be appreciated.

Oooh lovely...your first Bella Filipina...so exciting!
On my BF charts there is an information page with the thread symbols etc. and there is a little section on there that says how many strands to use for the different threads, including Kreinik. It's really small text so might be hard to spot but hopefully should be there. I would be 99% sure that it will be 1 strand though as any more would be too bulky.

When I click on "Show Transcript", it is blank. It's there on your other videos though. Is it missing on this one? Or maybe just a problem on my own computer? The link is blue on my computer and does allow me to click on it and it opens up. But it reads "no results found"

I've just checked on this and it's showing up for me so I hope it was just a temporary issue that is now fixed 🤞

Other considerations is that some of these “threads” don’t bend well and/or look bad after several years.

That's an interesting consideration...I don't think I have any old enough to have noticed this so I will be watching out for this.
