The last time I rode I was sitting in front of a large group from California who had only ever ridden the Disneyland version. California's Tower of Terror didn't include the sequence where you enter the 5th dimension. When our car left the elevator shaft and started moving forward, the group from California FLIPPED. OUT. They had no idea Florida's ride was different. It made the ride that much more entertaining.

@@BearableMonk075 Twilight Zone Tower Of Terror is still open in Florida and France. They only closed the California version. There’s also a non Twilight Zone themed version in Japan that’s still open.
Wow. This is one of my favourite rides of all time! The atmosphere of the whole building, everything is semi-ruined; the story, the sounds... Ahhhh, so cool.
Something interesting is all the little details from the original TV show. For example at 12:13 you can see the dummy from Episode 33 Season 3's episode " The Dummy" from the Twilight Zone. All those extra details really add to the atmosphere of the ride. Another reason why the Tower of Terror is one of my favorite rides at Disney World.
I took this ride for the first time in 1997 when I was 17. My sister was supposed to ride with me and as soon as we got to the front of the line, she slipped out and left me to go solo. I still remember the drops! 😄

Disney has given no word about retheming the Hollywood Studios "Tower of Terror," since they are already making "Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind" for Epcot in 2021. I rode this for the first time a few days ago and I do rather hope it stays, because even though this ride shows "some" age, the experience is still priceless and surreal.
Me too. My friend loves scary rides, so she really wants to ride this when we visit. Now that I’ve seen this video I think I can ride it at least once... as long as my friend holds my hand :-)
Rode it for the first time a few days ago, and I'll tell you this--it is an intense ride that is creepier than it looks on film. I've rode some pretty intense rides and coasters, and this really got to me. I came off thinking "...You know, as much as it was scary and intense, I'd ride that again if I came back--but no more than once in a single day..." Don't get me wrong, you'll live and don't be worried about it getting you sick or something, but there is no "tame" part when you're in the shaft, it's anxiously waiting for the next movement, not knowing what is even going to happen, and a lot of screaming. Oh yeah--and if you're nervous about it, don't look out the window when it shoots you up to the top floor--you'll wish you hadn't.
@@gabrielfrench8382 i just rode it for the first time last month, and i entirely agree. the worst part of it though imo, was that only certain seats in the shaft actually have decent like, restraint bars. i realized after we got locked in that the seat next to mine in the front row had a grip attached to the wall, while i seat i was in only had dinky little arm rest grips that i could barely hold onto🙃
This ride is so perfect for the year 2020 which I rode one month prior. I always make a joke that I stepped into the twilight zone long before the affect took place.

It's so interesting that The Twilight Zone is the last ride at Walt Disney World that's an intellectual property, while the rest of the park is entirely properties Disney owns, Twilight Zone is owned by CBS (specifically Paramount)

Every time I went to Hollywood studios with my family, my family kept trying to pressure me to give the right to try, but it wasn’t until my last visit when I finally did give it a chance, and it was awesome.
My 👪 friends like this attraction very much even though one of them is a retired retail manager. I'm not even revealing his name to you, but he did have pneumonia. He also didn't die. 🥳

My sister and I tricked my mom into going on this ride with us. She thought it was just another version of the haunted mansion. She figured it out when the elevators doors shut, but there was no going back. She started freaking out, and when the elevator dropped she clung to my arm and started screaming like crazy. I have never laughed so hard in my life. I still have the picture they take at the top of the tower with everybody screaming, my mom going nuts, and my sister and I laughing like children. Gotcha mom. Great times.
After I went on this I heard screaming after me my mom and my dad got of and we were like: haha (I screamed the whole time though so I couldn't really blame them.) And next was the rocking roller coaster which wasn't bad at all surprisingly. And when we sat down my dad was like: It must be safe since the seatbelt thingy is just a little strap. Me 5 minutes later: SCREAMING MY LUNGS OUT!!! And my are teacher just went to Disney World so I wonder if she road this. I was in the back row but it felt safer and I could still see. And btw I LITERALLY THOUGHT I WAS GONNA DIE. And it took forever for that ride to end.
I actually rather hope they don't... Everyone's wanting everything at Hollywood Studios to be "reimagined" or "rethemed," but there's so much new stuff. It's Disney, you have to have old, classic rides or else it's just an amusement park with theming. I hope this ride is the "Peter Pan's Flight" of Hollywood Studios. It just wouldn't be the same without that nostalgia... (Same goes for "Rock'N'Roller Coaster.")
Wish i know how it feels to drop up and down from an Elevator lift lol. But i need to find a smaller ride similar to this, before handling the real thing.
It just feels like your falling. The theming itself might be scary but the dropping part isn’t scary at all. It’s really fun! The only “scary” thing I’d say is scary about the dropping is you don’t know the distance of the drops. The drops are randomized so every drop you don’t know if it’ll be a short drop or a long one so the fear of the unknown is what makes it scary.

I went to this and I didn’t expect it to be scary, I was crying when the elevator drops and goes back up and felt like gravity.

WILD SURGE at Busch Gardens Tampa is a small family friendly drop tower that can be a good starter ride.
