Imagineers got professional chess players to play the chess game in the lobby and them stopped them in the middle. The position of the pieces actually are in positions where it makes the game never end. I think that’s cool
Ella Wants to Be famous I throw down the flag of BS! If two pro players (or anyone who knows how to play) are stopped mid game, there are no positions possible to make the game never end. Okay, only one way... the two pieces left on the board are the Kings. And that would end in a draw.
Most of my family thinks Guardians of the Galaxy is dEFiNetLY better than the original tower of terror that was there, but the one in Florida is indeed superior to both versions.

I've actually got 2 neat stories about this ride! 1.) This is the only ride I've been through an in-show exit on before! It was quite a while ago when I was younger, so I didn't have a camera or anything to film it with, but it was certainly cool! Our ride vehicle stopped while about half way through moving through the hallway with all the Twilight zone stuff in it before you get put into the main drop elevator shaft. We just sat there stuck for about 2 minutes or so, then the lights came on. There was an announcement of the ride being down, and after about 5 more minutes or so a cast member came, unlocked the vehicle doors, and walked us back through the hallway and down some stairs to the exit. it was certainly a neat memorable experience! But I always wondered what happens if the ride gets stuck in a way that stops any ride vehicles in the drop shaft. 2.) This one is more recent, maybe 7 years ago or so. I was just outside the queue with my 3 sisters and we saw a couple of "hotel workers" struggling with some luggage. The couple of us that noticed went over and asked if they needed help. They said sure, and all 4 of us picked up a piece of luggage and helped them carry it all inside. They led us through the hotel carrying the luggage a good ways, and after a bit we dropped it off, I forget where exactly. And the 2 of them thanked us, and then led us right to the front of the line. They were so nice!! Please be kind to cast members. I'll never forget that moment of just wanting to help someone out, and how nice and cool they were in return.
In regards to if its stopped in the shaft: ive also got stuck on it in Disneyland Paris. They take you to the exit floor and pull out a rolling staircase to let you out. Not sure if it would work exactly the same in Florida but I'd guess iys relatively the same
My favorite element of this attraction has got to be the ambient queue music. They’ve added an echo delay to the 1920s recordings to create a disquieting effect. My favorite song that plays in the loop is the recording of “I Can’t Get Started With You” sung by trumpet player Bunny Berrigan. Thr original recording is fantastic, but the added echo effect makes the song so creepy - it’s incredibly effective!
It was a long time ago. But does anyone remember when the host would say "Welcome to the tower of terror" the lights would turn on and you would stare at a brick wall before you dropped!

I didn't know the cobweb thing. Also a fact I expected to see but didn't was the fact that the Twilight Zone was more of a last minute addition than initially thought
Tower of Terror is truly a masterpiece! A ride, perfectly designed, with a story told in creative ways and a ride itself that is just fun. My favorite secrets are all the props of real Twilight Zone-episodes. :)
I’ve always had the best interactions with cast members at the French resort. They are alway happy and sharing jokes, of both the light and dark kind. Some even lean against the side of the wall comically at the end of the ride when the doors open. I had always been an anxious kid around scary stuff but these cast members always made me laugh.
My favorite detail is just how massive the plot of land the entire attraction sits on. Talk about themeing. The ride has almost as much acreage as a normal hotel would. It really sets the scene when you have to travel a while through the hotel's grounds before you actually get to the building itself, tension mounting the whole time.
Man, when Guardians of The Galaxy took over the one in California, I thought they would do the same in Florida....God Bless they didn’t change this one 😇😇
I loved how you included the graphic to explain how the ride actually operates. I’ve always wondered about that! I would love to see what the ride looks like with lights on 🤔

Hey TPM! Loved this video! When I worked at Disney World last fall, I had a friend who worked at Fantasmic! A lot of his coworkers were also trained on Tower of Terror before being moved to Fant. He told me the coolest fun fact that you can actually witness at night by the Tower of Terror! If you are walking along the Fantasmic entrance trail at night and you look at Tower of Terror from the side, you will see a window lit up with the silhouette of a man. This pays tribute to Rod Serling himself, as it is supposed to be him in the window. I believe it stays on all night! It would be on the tower's left side!
Hey TMPvids, I think you don't know this but there is another hidden detail about Rod Sterling OUTSIDE the Tower of Terror. Once you leave Fantasmic, you have to go through the one exit passing the ride. If you look up by the glowing windows, you will see a man looking outside. I'm not sure if Disney clarified this, but I have a theory that the man is Rod Sterling.
@@benjaminiihodson1611 technically it is the same thing, but at the same time, its not at all now. Its brightly coloured and looks lame to me. The ambience and aesthetic of the Hollywood tower hotel was what made the ride for me. Otherwise its just another drop ride with flashing lights. Its not even themed from a decent Marvel film lol i hope they never mess with the one in Orlando !
bbkangs ... I gave the Dinosaur ride a nickname, I call it Feel like a Dry Martini. Since you are shakened well and not stirred. When I went there on OCT 30th, It ent down while I was in line. While I was waiting for it to come back on. I checked FoP was at 60 minutes and made a beeline for Pandora. Unfortunately a lot of other guests decided to do the same thing. So by the time we get there. The wait was up to 80 minutes. Since I had ridden all the other rides there except for spinning roller coaster and the tricera spin. I decided to wait in the line. For me before I rode on a Banshee. Kali River Rapids was my favorite. That would always be the first ride I would go to. Now I believe it is FoP for Animal Kingdom. For Hollywood Studios. I really like Star Tours and Tower of Terror. Alss a little side note. I use to be afraid of the Tower of Terror. I got over my fear this year. I even rode it twice. For Epcot I am going to say Mission Space Orange Side. Magic Kingdom. Splash Mountain is my favorite there.
I like Dinosaur. Also identical track to the Indiana Jones ride in California. My favourite ride is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. I'm not a fan of rides like ToT.
So cool! Disney legend: when first approached Otis about the ride, Otis said: “ A falling elevator? That’s exactly what we’ve been trying to STOP for all these years!” Also, Pepper’s Ghost originally famously used in the Haunted Mansion!
Couple little secrets for true Twilight Zone fans: In the Library, I believe the one on to the right as you enter, are a couple props from the original Twilight Zone episodes. 1. On the table with the red lamp shade, notice behind and off to the side, you will see a pair of broken circular wire frame glasses..... From the classic episode "Time Enough At Last' starring Burgess Meredith. 2. Up on the shelves, near the ceiling, there is a "Red Devil Fortune Telling Machine" -- this is the one that William Shatner and Patricia Breslin use in the diner while their car is being repaired in the episode "Nick of Time".... Would love for Disney to put more little props like these through the ride.. i.e. a pig mask from "Eye of the Beholder"....."Talky Tina" from "Living Doll"..... the dolls from "Five Characters in Search of an Exit"..... the "Cook Book" from "To Serve Man"..... one of the paintings from "Midnight Sun"..... the old dented can from "Kick the Can".... the hat that the character wore in "Will the real Martian Please Stand Up? ...... There are so many!! Not sure any of these original props still exists, but would be amazing to find them. Or let Disney magic recreate them!! Any favorites you would hide in the ride?
After the ride finishes and starts to move to the unload point, the Slot Machine from The Fever and the Spaceship from The Invaders can be found (Also An Invader can be found in the library.). Hard to see normal darkness but you can find videos with the lights on, making them easy to spot. Also I think the Cookbook from To Serve Man can be found in the library. Caesar the dummy from The Dummy can be found by the exit. The elevator has a plaque that says the last time the elevator was checked. Its number is 10259 which is a nod to the date October 2, 1959, which is the date The Twilight Zone first aired and was checked by Mr. Cadwallader, the sinister deal maker from the episode "Escape Clause." An envelope with the name of Rod Serling on it can be found in one of the libraries as well as another envelope with the name of Victoria West in the other library, a reference to the episode A World of His Own. Chalk marks can be seen on one of walls of the waiting area that leads from the elevator unload, a reference to the episode "Little Girl Lost". In Walt Disney Studios, this can be found in the upper level of the boiler room next to the attraction warning signage. Periodically the girl's voice can be heard calling out for help from the wall and from the radios around the boiler room; a similar version was present in Disney's California Adventure. A poster advertising "Anthony Fremont's Orchestra" is displayed next to the concierge desk in the lobby; Anthony Fremont was the young boy with god-like powers from the episode It's a Good Life who hated music. This poster was displayed in the photo gallery at Disney California Adventure.
One "TZ" prop that I'd love to see in it (Both because it's from my favorite episode, and because it would fit well with the curio seen in the Library or that clutter before you leave) would be one of the masks from 'The Masks,' preferably the skull mask that the grandfather wears in it.
Speaking of 13- I just noticed this about the tower that gave me chills. If you look on the outside of tower of terror( specifically at night when the letters are lit up) You’ll see that HOLLYWOOD TOWER is lit up in a green ghoulish color minus the O - take a count of how many of those green letters are lit up and you’ll find - 13 of them are lit!!! 😨YW also love your vids❤
I love all your videos, but this one blew me away! I did not know any of the facts you shared. I was especially intrigued by the mechanics behind the ride and that Otis helped make the ride. Thank you for your research and for sharing.

I love your vedios about rides I think you need to do 10 secrets on splash mountain, pirates of the caribeian, space mountain, rocket roller, and big thunder mountain ❤️Your tower of teror Vedioe I think it was the best out of all of the vedios good job.
I like Guardians of the Galaxy, but it pegs me as something that doesn't have longevity. The Twilight Zone to this day is considered one of the best TV shows of all time. And while the remakes from the 80s early 2000s and current were not able to recapture the original's legendary nature, they show how much the show is still popular even today.
@@SupermarketSweep777 Fun fact. Tower of Terror was never actually a real episode. I'm not sure why they chose The Twilight Zone for this specific story, but it fits perfectly. I watched The Twilight Zone every single day a couple of months ago and there is no story for this. I wish there was though.
I always watch your videos but especially when I'm sad or have a hard day, there is nothing that helps me more than watching your videos:) I wish I could go to Disneyland itself but I can't really afford it. Especially for someone who has anxiety being around lots of people, being able to watch this from my own room and still feel that joy and also learn super cool facts is just as amazing. Thanks again for all that you do.
I'd loved seeing which hotel was a large inspiration for the ride - and the sight line from the Moroccan pavilion was ace! I always tried to line it up as intended when I'm there and your image was perfect. SUPER well done video!
Susan DeGuide as i slightly agree. they had to change it due to DCA losing their contract with The Twighlight Zone. So theyll never or unlikely get it back. 😊
I actually went on this ride yesterday, and afterward, I met up with a few of my friends who went on it at the same time, just on a different cart. When I told them that I hated the shaking part, they said theirs didn't shake before dropping, but just once before going to the top. So now I know why. I didn't know there was different what-ever-you-called-it.
So, me and my sister were at Disney world a few years back and she was under an inch away from riding the yeti ride it Animal kingdom. She wanted to ride the ride so badly. The cast member ( I dont think she was trying to be rude) said to what sound like to my sister in a mocking way, "eat more vegetables!" My sister walked back to us and immediately started crying! My sister out of the two of us, eats more vegetables and loves oranges. (she has a handful almost every day) So I was overly mad due to this and felt bad the whole time ridding the ride. That also resulted in me not liking the ride as much. Because of this experience, Tower of Terror is her top ride at Disney world. Tower of terror is in my top two because of that experience
it also had a made for TV movie in 1997 with Steve Gutenberg and Kirsten Dunst though none of the twilight zone elements were used due to licensing problems
I badly miss the tower in DCA, I loved walking through the lobby with all it's references to the twighlight zone episodes, w/o question the best walk through in either park
Would be cool if this actually was a functioning hotel with guests tho. You could add some special ghost affects in the halls for the guests. Idk I think it would always be full of guests
That's a fantastic idea, I was thinking true same thing when I was in Disneyworld last year!! We should start a petition! I'll bet guests would pay an insane amount to stay there...
Favourite Disney ride of all time, along with my favourite Disney Park, although I’ve always wanted to go on mission breakout. Big marvel fan but I hope they at least keep the original tower of terror
I rode this last week at Disney and it was my 2nd favorite, Everest was my absolute favorite. This a great ride and if you have never rode it, I would strongly recommend it.😊
The moment you ride Tower of Terror with friends 7 times in one day each time making a new pose(YMCA, Corona, serious, etc.) that by the time you are done you have the camera timing down and are unaffected by the drop. I did this with my friends so many times that when you can buy pictures other people took pictures of our elevator
Something else I love about TTT is the pre show area for not only the video but for the props in the room! If you're a big fan of The Twilight Zone (like I am) you can find items seen in episodes of the show in the library, like the fortune teller machine from "Nick of Time", Henry Bemis' glasses from "Time Enough at Last", the mini spaceman from "The Invaders", and much more!
Oh yes, what a great video!! This is my favorite ride in the world, really, nothing beats the TOT for me. I loved to know that the abandoned luggage are the ones used on the preshow. Also, in 2014 I stayed at the Roosevelt, in Hollywood, and some of its design and furniture reminded me of TOT. I only think that Disney could provide more merchandise for TOT, as they do with Haunted Mansion. My house, which is already full of TOT stuff, would become a real TOT memorabilia place!! lol. Love your videos!! Big thumbs up!!
It all depends on the contract Disney has with CBS. If Disney doesn't want to pay to renew or thinks it is too expensive, then ToT will be gone from FL, too :(

If they ever re-theme this ride I’m suing for emotional damage.
They should have sold the ride model. There is nothing else like it.
Hope your emotional damages are going okay
@@PartnershipsForYou I wish it were still twilight zone
Yes I will cry if they change it but I dont think they will
I got bad news...
when the door on the elevator opens and splits into 2, the B also becomes the number 13.
Is the 13th floor cursed and forbidden for the public ?
My favorite detail is just how massive the plot of land the entire attraction sits on. Talk about themeing. The ride has almost as much acreage as a normal hotel would. It really sets the scene when you have to travel a while through the hotel's grounds before you actually get to the building itself, tension mounting the whole time.
Man, when Guardians of The Galaxy took over the one in California, I thought they would do the same in Florida....God Bless they didn’t change this one 😇😇
@De4D_Gh0sT
Yeah, thank god

Didn't know I wasn't subscribed because of how many of your videos pop up in my recommended, but I'll fix that right now lol. Great video as always!
Mocha Express I just had the exact same experience lol
I loved how you included the graphic to explain how the ride actually operates. I’ve always wondered about that! I would love to see what the ride looks like with lights on 🤔
Overworked CNA th-cam.com/video/7iGZuA_LSk8/w-d-xo.html if you love the ride this video is AMAZING!! It explains everything
Wow I have a lot of stuff to get done-
*Tpm uploads tower of terror video*
Who needs to work?
5:49 and apparently people also fear the number 14 too
I think that might be because of the movie Saturday the 14th
@@dorans9602 I don’t know ‘bout anyone else here, but something seems sketchy about this Saturday the 14th.... can’t quite place my finger on it tho....
May be because the number 4 is unlucky in china.
🤣 I love the way he says "terror"
"The Tower of Tear..."
🤣🤣🤣
Damien L I thought I was the only one who noticed that.🤣
His lack of enunciation is driving me crazy!
Yeah I really like how he says terror he says it like tear not making fun of you TPM!!! I still love you
I have been on it before
The window on the side of the building with silhouette of a man watching you and then vanishes, it’s so chilling and cool to watch!
The fact about the cobwebs was interesting, as I've also seen that technique used in haunted houses for cobwebs!
The fact that the antiques are real make my lil child heart so happy 😭💖
Loved the intro. I wish tower of terror was still open at Disneyland 😞
It is
Detective Chica no it was changed into a guardians of the galaxy themed ride
Cambria Keith is it still the same thing just based of off gotg or is it different
Benjamin II Hodson it’s still the same thing they just changed the theming
@@benjaminiihodson1611 technically it is the same thing, but at the same time, its not at all now. Its brightly coloured and looks lame to me. The ambience and aesthetic of the Hollywood tower hotel was what made the ride for me. Otherwise its just another drop ride with flashing lights. Its not even themed from a decent Marvel film lol i hope they never mess with the one in Orlando !
The fact that I’ve been and stayed at both the hotels based of tower of terror is so crazy and cool.
That’s pretty cool!
I love this spoopy ride! ;D
Was that a pun?

Very spoopy

My 2nd favorite ride at Disney World!
#1 is Dinosaur don’t @ me
bbkangs
I freaking love Dinosaur. I feel like it has so much hate and that annoys me like crazy. Like, it's an awesome ride!
I like Dinosaur. Also identical track to the Indiana Jones ride in California. My favourite ride is Rock 'n' Roller Coaster. I'm not a fan of rides like ToT.
@me
So cool! Disney legend: when first approached Otis about the ride, Otis said: “ A falling elevator? That’s exactly what we’ve been trying to STOP for all these years!” Also, Pepper’s Ghost originally famously used in the Haunted Mansion!
I love these Twilight Zone Secrets vids
I love that side by side comparison of the intro for the show and the pre-show video. Honestly you deserve way more views than you get.
As you drop, those metal frames you see are the shape of Mickey, THE ULTIMATE HIDDEN MICKEY 🤣
That’s what I want to see
A mannequin in the lobby, perhaps the hotel boutique, dressed like the one in “The After Hours”. One of my favorites. 🤓
I love your videos so much! After going to Disneyland I kept watching these videos
TPM deserves more subscribers. Notification squad! Love you TPM videos ❤️
Ik but not everyone cares about disney🤥
WHO DOESNT CARE ABOUT DISNEY???!?!?!??!???!!!!?????
The fact that the cobwebs have to be replaced every two months amazed me! Thanks for these wonderful videos!
3:23 never in my ENTIRE life have i ever walked on this ride like that 😂😂
Speaking of 13- I just noticed this about the tower that gave me chills.
Amazing video! Tower of terror is my favorite ride 💚
I love all your videos, but this one blew me away! I did not know any of the facts you shared. I was especially intrigued by the mechanics behind the ride and that Otis helped make the ride. Thank you for your research and for sharing.
One time my family got to Hollywood SUPER EARLY and we got the whole car to ourselves. We made the most of the expierence and made our picture us just sleeping
Haha
I like the cob wed fact and the twisty line, for years when I went on tour of terror I have never noticed it.
I love your vedios about rides I think you need to do 10 secrets on splash mountain, pirates of the caribeian, space mountain, rocket roller, and big thunder mountain ❤️Your tower of teror Vedioe I think it was the best out of all of the vedios good job.
That bit about the queue is amazing. Great info.
R.I.P
Tower of terror
Replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy
Taqyo it’s okay. The mission breakout ride has some amazing humor scenes and it’s a pretty fun ride in general
I like guardians better.
Free falling is the best part
I'd loved seeing which hotel was a large inspiration for the ride - and the sight line from the Moroccan pavilion was ace! I always tried to line it up as intended when I'm there and your image was perfect. SUPER well done video!
i really hope disney keeps this ride AS IT IS. it’s perfect the way it is
My favorite is the 2-4 degree sloping of the walk ways! Nice touch, Disney engineering!
Love it keep it up dude that was amazing
Glad you enjoyed the video!
I love the tower of terror it’s my favorite ride! Well tied between that and the millennium falcon ride
I hate what they did the the DCA Tower of Terror. It's just not as fun and the building looks ridiculous
I totally agree.
Susan DeGuide as i slightly agree. they had to change it due to DCA losing their contract with The Twighlight Zone. So theyll never or unlikely get it back. 😊
Orlando's Tower of Terror will b next as they probably will not be renewing the license agreement with CBS. :(
The one in Paris looks just like the one in California!
I agree that building looks silly, but the ride is fun!
TPM? I LOVE YOU SO MUCH, YOUR VIDEOS RUN SMOOTHLY, AND EVEN THO YOU TELL SECRETS BEHIND STUFF YOU STILL KEEP THE MAGIC ALIVE
YOU ARE THE TOTALY AWSOME
😍😍😍😍
I’m early! I love your videos, TPMvids.
Also,
I watched the whole video.
Also,
Don’t they look lovely June?

-My Favorite Line
I went on this ride in Disney World in Florida for the first time.
Lets be honest
No one wanted guardians of the galaxy
R.I.P my fav ride
Lets be honest
Disney really wanted that Marvel Fan money
Torres uh I definitely wanted a Guardians of the Galaxy ride.... I just didn’t want it to steal my favorite ride of all time
I want gardian of the galaxy I rode it and it’s awesome 😎
Well we have Florida
Torres you shut up, I like guardians of the Galaxy
8:32 I live in Riverside. The mission inn is great. Shout out from Riverside!!!!
I love the music in the lobby, so immersive!
You should have done top 13
Another great video!! Making me so excited for my trip in December!
Just me or I immediately hold on to my dad when I here the click....
You keep me in my childhood mode!! Your probelly the reason why I watch youtube dont mean to be creepy!! :/ I love what you do have a good day bye!!
it also had a made for TV movie in 1997 with Steve Gutenberg and Kirsten Dunst though none of the twilight zone elements were used due to licensing problems
I love these kinds of videos! But tbh I love all of your videos.
Thanks Scar!
Thank you, TPM
I badly miss the tower in DCA, I loved walking through the lobby with all it's references to the twighlight zone episodes, w/o question the best walk through in either park
Would be cool if this actually was a functioning hotel with guests tho. You could add some special ghost affects in the halls for the guests. Idk I think it would always be full of guests
That's a fantastic idea, I was thinking true same thing when I was in Disneyworld last year!! We should start a petition!
I'll bet guests would pay an insane amount to stay there...
And for families with kids who are afraid of ghosts?
Sam I am If someone’s kids were that afraid of ghosts, why would the family even stay there lmao
Zachary B Disney was thinking of actuakly making this into a hotel, but they decided not do. im not sure why tho
The glue cobwebs sure surprised me! That’s amazing.
I was very surprised about the cobwebs being hot glue
Same
XD same
same i honestly thought they were those party city halloween webs 😂
Favourite Disney ride of all time, along with my favourite Disney Park, although I’ve always wanted to go on mission breakout. Big marvel fan but I hope they at least keep the original tower of terror
When I rode this I think my soul left my body
Aw
😂😂
I rode this last week at Disney and it was my 2nd favorite, Everest was my absolute favorite. This a great ride and if you have never rode it, I would strongly recommend it.😊
The moment you ride Tower of Terror with friends 7 times in one day each time making a new pose(YMCA, Corona, serious, etc.) that by the time you are done you have the camera timing down and are unaffected by the drop. I did this with my friends so many times that when you can buy pictures other people took pictures of our elevator
Thank you for this I was absolutely terrified on this ride last time I went but now I feel a bit better about it all
Something else I love about TTT is the pre show area for not only the video but for the props in the room!
The fact that the “fall” is actually a pull.
I hope they never change the Florida one. I love the way the crew operate the ride.
It all depends on the contract Disney has with CBS. If Disney doesn't want to pay to renew or thinks it is too expensive, then ToT will be gone from FL, too :(
@@JuniperMB I'm going this winter so it better be there when I go. Or I'm gonna find some staff to break the arms of. That's the charm of this ride for me. The staff are so creepy and funny.
You forgot there’s a hidden Mickey in the stars ✨
I just recently went to Disney world and the Tower of Terror was my favorite ride. It was my first time riding it, I loved it.
I keep hearing "Tower of Tear"
I just got back from Disneyworld a week ago…..i haven’t been since 2005…..this was the first time i rode this……..my favorite ride~~~ so scary!! Loved it….thnx for info!
The best part about the ride, is not actually riding it. It’s standing in front of it and taking a video of people screaming their heads off.
That's pretty cool with taking the clip of Rod Serling from "It's A Good Life" which I think I've seen that episode before and then adding it into the ride and that guy's voice over is amazing!!! I'd love to check this ride out someday...although drop towers make me disoriented. I jsut would love to see the theming in person is all.
