    1. go to skyscanner, and as your depart and return put: cheapest month
    2. use trivago to compare prices for accommodation on different websites
    3. use booking.com if you can because when you reach genius status you get discounts, or find a friend that already has it and book under their name, that way you get a discount and they get more points, me and my friends all use the same account
    4. pack very lightly that way you pay for your luggage less or nothing if you only take a cary on
    5. use blablacar to share vehicles with people that are going to the same place, save money and make new friends! :)

    I'm in France right now wwoofing! Me and my boyfriend wanted to travel here for a low cost and wwoofing makes very easy! If you don't know what it is, basically you are working on a farm and in return get free room and board . That included food! It's awesome it's an amazing way to experience the culture of the country !! Great video thank you!

    If any US traveler is close enough to Canada, saying Toronto, flying from there is way cheaper than most US flights. I’m from Chicago so Toronto isn’t too far or too expensive to get to and I usually see 300-500 bucks in difference.

    Is it just me or has Airbnb been getting super expensive?

    • @MartinBoduroff
      @MartinBoduroff 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not everywhere. The airbnb where me & my family stayed was for up to 7 people (we brought some friends over even :D) and it was exactly 15.50 USD per person per night :D And we're talking about Milan. A hotel would've been at least 3 times more, and a hostel - about just as much, but without much of the comfort - the airbnb was a 3 BR 2 Bath apt.

    I went to Europe for just under 3 weeks and I spent just over $3000 Canadian. My advice if you want to save money would be don't go to Switzerland :-). But actually it's so incredible and beautiful BUT OMG ITS SO EXPENSIVE. Go to Prague, it's so fucking cheap. A 0.5L beer is $2 Canadian, so that's like $1.70 American. I have no regrets about the money I spent though hahaha, so worth it.

    • @adelabeck7161
      @adelabeck7161 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Emiley Mack i live in prague and trust me...u can get 0.5l beer for way less than 2€. Also everything here is cheap just for the tourists but for us who live here it can get really expensive. But i'm glad u liked it here tho!:)

      Nice, nice, nice. You just prove me that yes, one can do Europe in a budget. I am looking forward to ride flexi bus with my grachild. I have this group of travel agents making fun of somebody and his/her 2000 budget...tip...check delta ,open jaw pick 3 days hotel in order to price air, specially now summer time...shoulder season as well. Kudos. Yes, Become skymiles member to earn miles. Did air to Europe r/t back in March with 30, 000 miles.

    I would recommend couchsurfing. You get to know the people that life there.
    Next to Flixbus you can use things like BlaBlaCar. Mostly faster than Bus and not much more expansive.

    The flight to/from the US doesn’t has to be the most expensive part! You can get cheap tickets with European Low cost airlines like LEVEL (to Barcelona and Paris), Norwegian (to London, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Oslo) and WOW air (to Reykjavik from where you can connect to a lot of WOW flights to Europe mainland). If you’re lucky you can fly for less than 200€ round trip. For sure you have to fly from an airport where these carriers fly to, like SFO, LAX, or airports near New York or Boston.

    This isn't a budget question, but my friend and I are about to spend two weeks in Europe, Paris and Rome to be specific. I was wondering if its okay to wear shorts, I know it probably isn't that big of a deal, but as a someone who films and does photography while travelling, skirts and dresses aren't very practical. It's supposed to be super hot and pants seems like a drag, unless going to a church or out to a fancy restaurant, then of course I would cover up and dress appropriately. But just for walking around and exploring are shorts okay?

    • @FullMetalMary
      @FullMetalMary 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much!! I really appreciate the response. I have been living in shorts this summer! I was planning on just putting a long skirt in my bag for when we go into churches or places with a dress code, and bring a light sweater to cover the shoulders. Honestly, I hope people don't mind all the tattoos on my legs, but at the same time I feel like no one really will care how I look. Thanks again for your help!

    • @OhDearHoney
      @OhDearHoney 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Full Metal Maryy shorts are perfectly fine in both cities :) and taking a long skirt in your bag is really practical since most churches or religious places in general (especially in Rome) don't let people wearing shorts in

    hi! First of all, thanks for the great video! I'm portuguese and I was thinking about visiting some of my erasmus friends who live in other countries here in Europe. Do you recommend buying a Eurorail pass and do most of the trips by train or do you have any other tip? Also to save money with accomodation, do you think is feasible to take the long trips by night and sleep on the bus/train/whatever (yeah i'm savage lol)....? Thanks!

    • @1vachmed94
      @1vachmed94 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would recommend using public transport in most places to get to and from airports and to get around. Try budget airlines like easyjet, transavia and ryanair (biggest airline in europe) but do not take a checked bag with you, fly with carry on instead. Most trips are under 50 euros one-way but checking a bag costs 25€. You can find flights for like 10-20€ quite often.
